    100% Junk - Stay Away

I purchased and received my router yesterday, the 29th of June, set it up with just the basic settings, and in less that 24 hours, the entire router has become unusable. Literally, it will run for about 5 minutes every once in a while, and then the LAN switch and wireless completely stops working and the entire unit locks up. Firmware updates, restores, factory resets - non of it works. It is quite literally a brick. For $400 I expect perfection from ASUS, not a complete piece of garbage. I have already set up a replacement unit to be shipped. Unfortunately, unlike Amazon - I will be waiting for a week to get the new unit. I have been a very staunch ASUS supporter for a very long time and I have to say that this is the worst piece of equipment I have every purchased. I may have to dump ASUS altogether... Additionally, while Best Buys customer support was "nice", having to wait for a week for a replacement for a defective $400 router is unacceptable. Especially since I make my living fro home. Will be ordering from other places like NewEgg or Amazon from now on.

    Horrible - Asus - AC5300 Tri-Band AC Router

The Asus - AC5300 Tri-Band AC Gigabit Router worked ok for 6 months. Then problems arose every day. It would lose connection, the 5G wouldn't connect to any device except one iPad. I use it to mainly run our security cameras (2.4g) when out of town. Guess what, It died on the second day of our vacation, so now I cannot check the cameras or have access remotely. Thanks ASUS! I either need to fly back to reset the router or figure out what is wrong or wait until I return to replace it with something reliable. All of our PC's and laptops are (were) ASUS. NEVER will I buy another ASUS product...

    Buyer Beware

Do not buy this router if you are looking for a true tri-band router! I purchased this router from a retailer in Nov and the 5GHZ-2 band failed in 3-weeks. All other bands worked fine. I contacted ASUS support and returned the router for repair and they determined a hardware failure was the problem. It took about 2 weeks between the shipping and repair process for me to receive the repaired router. The router worked fine for about 45 minutes before the 5GHZ-2 band failed again. So I again called ASUS tech support and they could not get the 5GHZ-2 band to work and determined that another hardware failure was to blame. So instead of shipping me a replacement for exchange they want me to send it back for repair again. A simple internet search will show this is a known problem with the AC5300 routers. I have been a long time ASUS customer but their customer service has become unacceptable.

Looking for the delivery. Shipper claims it was delivered but no proof. No pictures, nothing other than their claim of delivery. Claims it was left at a gated driveway. We don’t live in a gated area. Duh!

Purchased 1/11/18, dead on 1/26/18, so must be bad quality because we received it a week after we bought it and shipped to our home.SO this router was dead after only about 10 days use. Looks is one thing, QUALITY should be the reason why you pay for that kind of price.

Wanted to trust in Asus again after buying a terrible ac2600 but after buying this product yet again I'm disappointed with Asus. Save yourself the trouble buy the Linksys EA9500 instead much better performance.

This thing is constantly bottlenecking causing my wifi speed to drop to next to nothing. Usually in the early morning. Would never recommend this piece of garbage.
