ASUS continues to amaze me with the quality of their products. It is impressive how this detachable Chromebook is so versatile and efficient while being so competitively priced. We have various computing devices in my household, yet this has been the one everyone in my family has been vying a turn with since I got it.
Set-up takes about fifteen minutes as it has to be logged on to a Google account and there are many steps to personalize the profile to suit the user. After that, setting up profiles for others is slightly quicker. There are plenty of parental controls available for children to be able to use it without accessing harmful content.
I primarily use it for my online classes. I can easily get on Zoom and multitask on it like in any regular computer. I had been using my phone to attend meetings and this is such as step up as it is still portable but has many more features available.
My kids each have their own accounts in it and my oldest uses it for her schoolwork as well as for streaming while my youngest just streams on it occasionally.
It works great for streaming, the Full HD provides a fluid, clear, and vivid image that makes watching it an enjoyable experience. The Chromebook logs in to accounts and loads up quite fast.
Battery life is subject to usage. When all four of our profiles are logged in, a full charge will last around 7 hours according to the Chromebook. When only one profile is logged in, it goes up to 9.5 hours. This is with no app actively running in the background, but I do have several apps loaded and some do still process in the background. Interestingly, there are moments when battery life is projected at 19 hours. All this to show that battery life will depend on usage and the types of apps that are added on. I personally always keep my charger handy if I’m taking it anywhere just in case.
The charger included is a USB-C to wall outlet. There is the only port available, so if anything needs to be connected, it cannot be done if it is charging. There is also an audio jack port.
Both cameras are 5 megapixels. The quality of the images it takes are subpar – grainy, with color distortion but it works well enough for my Zoom class meetings, and it is all I need the cameras for anyway, so I don’t have complaints there.
The Chromebook is very light and thin at just about 2lbs. I love that I ca just toss into purse and take in on the go without compromising space. The magnetically attached kickstand is high quality and works exceptionally well. It bends to whichever angle is desired, there are no preset stopping points, and it just stays put unwaveringly.
The detachable keyboard is just as well-made. It magnetically snaps on before it even touches with impressive strength. It is a solid keyboard with a slightly bumpy texture, similar to a milk jug, which I find pleasing. It has low-profile keycaps that produce muted clicks. Without the keyboard, the Chromebook works just like a tablet, and it is very intuitive to learn and use.
It has 4GB RAM, which is standard from Chromebooks. It gives just enough memory space to get work done efficiently provided it is not overloaded with open apps. I have had no issues with lagging or loading thus far.
All things considered, this Chromebook is a great budget friendly device for any student in need of technology or anyone who needs an easy portable option to get work done on the go.

The exterior is a lovely grey color with a smooth, soft-felt texture, which is excellent for avoiding fingerprints. The screen's back cover has a thin, firm hinge. The covers come off quickly thanks to its strong magnets and attach perfectly to all edges/corners. The keyboard/ bottom cover is made of soft grey plastic material that perfectly aligns with the monitor when closed. It is impressive how the keyboard cover snaps into place on the screen/tablet. Going from tablet to laptop mode or having covered to go, it easily and quickly snaps back together thanks to the strong magnets. The outer parts/cover/keyboard have a nice look, feel, and design and are perfectly aligned. The ergonomic keyboard and the touchpad are well-placed and with adequate sizes. Note that the keyboard only works if it is attached to the screen.
You can use it in tablet mode with or without the soft-felt textured back cover. With the cover, you can use the back hinge in horizontal or portrait view, but note that the tablet stands almost perpendicular in the portrait view. Without the cover, the tablet/screen has an aluminum back. Handling the tablet feels premium, solid, and high-quality, enhancing your overall user experience. The screen has two side speakers, a USB-C port, and a headphone/mic jack. The power and volume buttons are next to the port/jack on the left side. The device comes with a small USB-C charger and its attached power block (which is small/decent size). The stylus USI pen is at the top right corner of the screen and pops up when you click it. The pen has four flat sides, which is great to prevent it from rolling away. It feels nice to hold and use on the screen in tablet or laptop mode. The screen colors look good, and even with angle viewings, no color is shifting. There is plenty of sharpness and a nice amount of brightness.
This 2-in-1 Chromebook is highly versatile and suitable for daily use. I use many Google apps, like Gmail, Google Calendar/ Tasks, Google Drive, and more. If I need to use a Microsoft Office program, I usually use their online version (this requires an account). The front-facing camera works well for online meetings. My favorite pastime activity utilizing this device is reading my eBooks and using docs for my digital journaling. I also play online/ app games and watch streaming movies. The best design of this device is the seamless transition between tablet and laptop mode. It includes a high-precision stylus pen tucked away at the top right corner of the screen. Overall, I enjoy using this new 2-in-1 Chromebook, and I currently use it more than my smartphone.

ASUS 2-in-1 10.5" Chromebook Laptop – MediaTek 8186 - 4GB Memory - 64GB SSD
Included- Chromebook, case with detachable keyboard, stylus, and AC power cord
SETUP-
After unpacking the Chromebook, I charged fully charged it with the included power cord. You should charge it at least 3 hours before using it. Afterwards, turn on the Chromebook and it will walk you through a few prompts to set it up with the wifi and log in.
USAGE-
The ASUS Chromebook includes a case with a kickstand and keyboard, pop up stylus, camera, built in speakers, headphone/microphone jack, USB-C port and SIM card tray. The 10.5 in. LED display screen is clear and sharp and offers good color contrast. It's comparable to HD with its 1900 x 1200 screen resolution. The battery life will last up to 12 hours with the rechargeable battery.
THOUGHTS-
In my opinion, this not a traditional laptop when you hear the description. It's definitely more like a tablet with a keyboard added. But it has great versatility. It's small, lightweight and very portable. It's great for throwing in a small bag and bringing it anywhere with you for work, school or play. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage for your basic needs. You can do some basic gaming on the MediaTek Dimensity 8000 Series processor, watch videos or zoom, check emails, take notes, anything you may need to do while on the go. I appreciate that the Chromebook comes with the durable and attractive case and keyboard. I'm very picky about the feel of keyboards and this one has a pleasant feel, though I don't care for the touchpad as much. I think the versatility and portability are the biggest benefits to the ASUS 2 in 1 Chromebook. It will help you be entertained and productive wherever you use it

It’s been along time since I’ve used a Google/Android based product, I’ve messed around with a few of them but haven’t owned one in a long time. All of my computer and tablet needs has been either iOS or windows based devices. Unboxing the device you get the tablet a USB-C charger and a removable kickstand/keyboard case. The case is made of a very durable feeling material and is two separate parts. When using the keyboard part, the device basically goes in computer mode as the grid of apps disappear from the Home Screen and returns when in tablet mode. The kickstand case part is really nice and I love that it has it as it makes it easy to prop the device up when watching videos. The device feels substantial and is on the thicker side as far as most tablets go, but in exchange for this you get great battery life.
Setup- you can use the device in what’s called guest mode but if you do it lacks a lot of capabilities. Namely all the apps you’ll want from the Google play store as if you don’t sign into the play store and setup your account, you won’t have any apps or access to the play store. Once you sign into the play store it’s like the device comes to life and has so much more to offer. I somewhat understand why Google does this, I just wish they allowed full access to the play store in guest mode.
Usage- the biggest thing I noticed was the battery life. With on and off usage from the occasional web browsing to mostly video watching on YouTube, it’s been amazing. It was 4 days before I had to change the device. This can be one of the trade offs for a device being thicker as they can put a larger battery in. When scrolling and using the device, the device for the most part is very smooth and lag free when using in tablet mode, though occasionally I did notice some lag here and there. The stylus adds a nice bit of added functionality and works great. When trying to remove it you really have to pull, almost to the point you think you’ll break it, but you won’t.
Overall it’s a great consumption/light productivity device and the software is solid. The build quality is great and though it’s on the thicker side, it comes with great battery life.

The sleek design of the device immediately catches the eye, offering a modern aesthetic. Its lightweight build makes it incredibly easy to carry around, perfect for those on the go. The performance is undeniably smooth, handling various tasks with impressive speed and efficiency. Furthermore, the long battery life ensures productivity throughout the day without frequent charging. Overall, it's a fantastic piece of technology that enhances the user experience.

This is exactly what I was looking for -- Love having the touch screen, keyboard and stylus. The size and weight work perfectly for me to use anywhere.
I use this product for email, web, docs, sheets, slides, notes, videos and borrowing magazines & books from the library. I have been a Chrome OS user for years so I have realistic expectations of what this machine can do.
The price was right since it was on sale for 1/2 off.

It is portable and works well for me. It is true that the memory is small, so opening a few more apps or tabs will slow it down a lot. But when working on one app or using only a tab for a webpage, it is usually fine. It also allows connecting to an external display, though the resolution seems to be limited to 1920x1080. After removing the keyboard the machine can be used as a tablet and is very convenient. Also it can run a lot of Android apps.

I love the size of this tablet. It works really well for my needs
It seems very sturdy and the removable tablet from the keyboard and the removable stand provides lots of protection for the tablet. I had an old Asus tablet about 20 years old that still works so i was due for an upgrade. Since i had such good luck with the brand I'll stick with it.

It is a valuable tool when it comes to your child's education. The battery life is nothing short of incredible. I can go from morning to night on a single charge, which is a total game-changer for my daughters' IXL "homework", since I no longer have to look for a charger intermittently to get them up and running. And let's not forget about the price—it delivers a premium experience without the premium price tag. For anyone who needs a reliable, lightning-fast, and user-friendly device for everyday tasks, a Chromebook isn't just a good choice; it's the only choice. It has completely changed how I think about personal computing.

Runs most apps well, capable of daily tasks - surfing and emails - as long as only a few tabs at a time. The detachable keyboard adds another dimension for those who want extremely compact, portable device, and still have full function.
However, this would benefit from 8Gb ram, and has smaller storage for personal files. And, a backlit keyboard would make typing much easier in dim light.
For the price, this checks all the basic needs...

This is a fantastic product for the price. The screen is nice and bright with rich colors. The battery life is amazing. Feels well built and durable when toting around. The included cover is a nice bonus. I purchased this for basic surfing, notetaking, and occasional streaming and have not noticed any lag, even with a budget processor. My only negative is that the stylus can be a little tricky and almost requires some force to remove. I wish it would come out more smoothly. It's a basic but solid product for what it does.

Overall: I like it! The Chrome OS is new to me so there's a bit of a learning curve. I love the magnetic keyboard attachment. Sometimes I want a keyboard but a lot of times I don't, so I get the best of both. LONG battery life when not being used (but not off).

I work as a CPT for a fitness center and this is a low cost, excellent solution to keep teack of my clients needs on the go. Basically a full functional laptop/tablet as you need it to be with a magnetic detachable keyboard. Can't beat the price to performance for how versatile it is, believe me I tried!

Great value! Bought an open box and it came like new. Computer has decent speed, and plenty enough for basic stuff like surfing the internet, etc. Decent battery life.

Haven't had the computer for long, but so far its pretty cool. has the power of a laptop but the portability of a tablet. yes, the screen detaches from the keyboard. nice feature. also has a stylus. don't use it much but nice to know its there. also, the back cover folds to make a stand if using as a tablet. all in all, very cool product.

Size was important. I've been using a Chromebook for 10+years.
This is the perfect size. Having a detachable keyboard is a plus but the white numbers and letters are difficult to use. Black keys with white numbers work way better. Speed and security are important . I shopped for value and service. BestBuy offered both. This is the 3rd computer I purchased from BestBuy. They beat the price on the internet. I'm very satisfied with this ASUS CM3001

I have the Lenovo Duet and Duet 3, compared to the Duet 3 this looks nicer and the included stylus is a plus. I haven't used it for intensive tasks so performance is still to be decided so far for regular browsing it seems to be holding up.

Got this for my 5th grader. Very lightweight, battery lasts all day and then some, and the detachable keyboard is a neat feature that lets the Chromebook to be used as a tablet. I do wonder about the longevity of the keyboard being attached & detached so many times.
