Everything I could have asked for in a Chromebook

A large screen (kinda like a 3x4) allows me to view two side-by-side letter-sized pages effortlessly without scrolling down to see the full page. It's really fast. This device can keep up with my speed and multitasking needs. This means I do not get distracted by the lags that come with loading a webpage or a video in high-res. It's fast with a highly responsive screen. Big touchpad. You can plug in your charger on either side. The battery lasts for a long time and can be extended even more with a battery-saver option found in the settings. The video camera is superb, with background blur options! Sound quality and video calling without headphones do not create an echo. After having issues with two other Chromebooks on day one from a different brand, I can tell this Chromebook will stay with me, finally!

Good choice for 16" 2-in-1 using ChromeOS

One of the best - and one of the only - options for a 16" 2-in-1 Chromebook. If you are looking for a 16" 2-in-1 Chromebook, you won't be disappointed by the CX5601. It is good, but not usually great, in just about every way. Much has been said about the 16" 1200p 16x10 aspect ratio touch screen. I think it is fine. At 300 nits, it feels plenty bright enough indoors, and few laptops are truly bright enough to use outdoors. Color reproduction and sharpness are good enough, but neither is class-leading. The screen temperature does skew a bit warm but not so much that it is an issue for me and likely won't be for most people. The speakers are quite good, the keyboard is among the better for feel (not sure about that super-skinny number pad though). The track pad is pretty bad. Its plastic and sticky and not smooth, although tapping/clicking works well. Performance is fantastic with the 12th gen i3 - it handles Android apps and ChromeOS browser workflows with ease. Battery life is just ok, as 16" and a core i3 is a lot for a 57wh battery. It likely will not last a full 8 hours of typical workloads, and charging the battery is slower than I would expect. The webcam is pretty terrible. Sharpness is so-so, but the camera underexposes (darkens) the image and dynamic range is poor so expect to look like you are in a dim basement when using this webcam. The metal lid is premium while the base is pure plastic. Still, it feels sold (and quite heavy) and doesn't flex much. This model is not advertised as a Chromebook Plus, but it is. If you need a 16" 2-in-1 this will be one of the few options and you won't be disappointed, but if you can live with a 14" there are better options.

This is a great computer. I like the privacy shutter. The sound quality is good. The screen is large and the colors are good and it seems bright enough. I have it at the half way mark. Track pad works great and I love the keyboard as it's like typing on a regular typewriter. I haven't noticed any lagging it's very fast. The keys are lit so you can type in the dark and it's quiet. Huge screen, great picture. My daughter is using this for her freshman year of college. She can easily fit it in her backpack and the battery last her all day for her work. Connectivity has been great everywhere she uses it. Keyboard size it great for typing the papers and doing whatever else she needs to complete. She loves the touchscreen and even more so the fact it can flip into a tablet.

    Best Chromebook I've ever had

This is my 5th Chromebook and by far the best. I currently have a Duet 3 as well and while I love that one for the portability, this ASUS is drastically faster. It has a great selection of ports, USB-C charging on both sides, backlit keyboard and pretty much everything you need for productivity and entertainment. It is obviously not super portable but I do take it with me on some trips when I need the screen size or just raw power. The only thing that I consider a negative is there is some backlight bleed on the edges of the display but it's only noticeable on dark screens. I still notice it from time to time while watching Netflix due to the black borders but it doesn't bother me.

This Chromebook has a nice large screen, and provides very clear definition. Does everything I need and more. Good price too so I am very pleased with this purchase. BESTBUY had a large selection and the salesperson helped me decide what to chose based on my needs, pointed out the pros and cons of several different options. That was very helpful as I am not an expert by any means.

Good size, a bit on the heavy side, easy to use, love the screen,it's plenty bright enough in daylight. YouTube at 2160p is amazing. Seems to play games with no problem. The only thing that could be better is the sound, but headphones fix that.

ASUS 16" Touchscreen Chromebook: A Large and Powerful Chromebook. I've been using the ASUS 16" Touchscreen Chromebook for a few weeks now, and I'm overall impressed with it. It's a great choice for anyone looking for a large, powerful Chromebook that can handle demanding tasks. Large and beautiful display: The 16-inch touchscreen display is gorgeous. It's bright, crisp, and has a great viewing angle. Fast and powerful performance: The Intel Core i3 processor and 8GB of RAM provide plenty of power for web browsing, streaming, and even light gaming. Long battery life: I've been getting around 8 hours of battery life on a single charge, which is great for a Chromebook. Sturdy and well-built: The Chromebook feels like it's made from high-quality materials. It's not the lightest Chromebook on the market, but it feels like it can take a beating. Touchscreen is responsive: The touchscreen is very responsive and makes it easy to navigate Chrome OS.

I absolutely love this machine. I have 9 Chromebooks, this one among my top 3 favorites. PC World didn't give the ASUS CX5601 a great review and I'm still trying to comprehend why. Super sharp screen, true to life color gamut and backlit keyboard. Keys are super comfortable to type on. Not all Intel i3 chips are the same. This one clocks faster than any of my other i3 machines. Lots of ports. Would absolutely recommend.

I've used Chromebooks for many years and I when I retired, the tech guys suggested this is what I wanted to use in retirement. I like that it can bend backwards and I can watch videos on it and not worry about folding and unfolding too much. Easy to use.

    Happy Windows Alternative

With Widows 10 support ending soon, I needed an alternative to my Microsoft Surface Pro. This is my first Chromebook and so far this has been a decent replacement. Yes, there are some things this can't do, but everything that I need it to do, like browser based applications, it handles with ease. My one complaint was I didn't like how the case retains fingerprints/hand prints. I purchased a laptop skin and now it's fine and is a better reflection of my personality.

Really nice Chromebook! My wife likes the way chromebooks function. And they do make high end Chromebooks that are really nice and this is one of them. I’ve always liked ASUS, and once again, they outdid themselves. My wife loves it and it has great sound, great picture, great response to the touchscreen, and overall just a really good laptop.

It does a great job and fits a lot of my needs. Pros: USI 1.0 stylus compatible. 16 inch screen. 8 GB ram. Camera privacy cover. Good speakers. Good screen. Uses an Intel processor (important for programmers). When on sale, it is a steal. Cons: Bloatware after connecting to internet (you can delete most but there is more than what is shown in store models (but less than a standard smart phone). How it sorts things when saving is weird. Copy and paste is not accessible via right click. Ctrl+C is the only way I've used so far. Chrome is forced upon your lower menu bar. Can not put apps on window screen, needs to be on lower menu bar.

Broke my screen on my Chromebook, and needed one quick. Wehnt in just to look, and this one was a great deal. When I got it home it is like the gift that keeps on giving. I did not look 100% at specs when I was in store, but it has wayyyyy more than I expected, and is a powerful beast!! This was a few weeks ago, but the associate that helped me took the time to find the right fit for me, and then some!!!! Thanks

Decent Premium Chromebook, but not the Best

I'm no stranger to premium Chromebooks. Over the past few years I've owned the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, the 1st gen Asus Flip CX5 and now this one. As some background as to why I enjoy premium chromebooks: I am a student, writer and a creative professional. Meaning, I need something that I can type on for hours at a time and something that won't annoy my eye that's trained to pick out visual flaws such as pixelation or discoloration. Also being a gamer, Steam Link is a staple on all of my Chromebooks. Rimworld isn't going to play itself afterall. Coming from the Galaxy and last years CX5? This model is fine. The keyboard is comfy for my use and the screen while not the greatest I've used, isn't terrible. Compared to the previous year's model, the sound on this one is noticeably lackluster, especially where bass is concerned. Mind you, I'm not looking for something that will shake the walls, but if Barry White is singing in his lows, I want to hear his chest and not just his nose. Overall for a premium Chromebook, it's fine. Great if you're looking for a larger screen. Personally I don't plan to hold onto this one for long since Google announced a new line of cloud gaming Chromebooks earlier this month which I'll be checking out to potentially replace this one. The build quality on this Chromebook is middling, especially coming from the aluminum Samsung Galaxy and last year's CX5 that used higher quality plastics.
