I am very happy with this computer. I have not had it very long but it does everything I want it to do very quickly. The speed is what impresses me the most. I have had many computers but none that load software etc like this one.

The ASUS G10AJ is a very large computer, larger than what I thought it would be seeing it in the picture. The unit is 13x23x24, so it’s a really big box. Inside is a fast, 4th generation Intel Core i7-4790 clocking at 3.6Ghz. The unit also comes with 16GB DDR3 RAM, that I quickly added 16GB more RAM to for better performance while using Photoshop. For those who are planning to increase the RAM, it’s the Samsung 2x 8 DDR3- 1600 8GB512Mx8 CL 11 #M378B1G73QH0-CK0 (or equivalent). On the front are 2 USB 3.1 and 2 USB 2.0 ports, and also the usual phone jack and mic jack. There is a media all in one unit that has a CF card reader and SD card reader and a few others, but I won’t be using those. For drives it came with the 128GB SSD card, a 2 TB standard drive and a standard DVD-RW player…no BluRay. The inside was a bit of a surprise. The G10AJ comes with a very powerful and fast Nvidia GeForce GTX 970, with 4GB Ram. To my dismay, it comes with only one display port, so if you’re doing dual monitors, you will have to plug it into the one USB port on the video card in the back. This works ok, but makes the 2 displays look a lot different. The real surprise was the fact the motherboard is very small, not a full size board you’d expect from an ASUS computer, but a half size one, which limits the number of data ports you get. The G10AJ comes with plenty of power ports inside, but not one single data port is available to plug in extra internal drives. Basically it comes with 3 data ports, and the DVD, SSD and HD are using them. At least I haven’t found any additional ports. So it will be external drives only for me, but the 2 TB drive really comes in handy. The G10AJ does come with a very nice large 500watt power supply. The G10AJ comes with a usable mouse, but nothing exciting, I immediately replaced it with my Logitech wireless mouse. Same with the keyboard, very handsome, backlit, comes with a volume knob, but feels a bit on the cheap side, and will most likely replace it with my wireless keyboard. Other than a few shortcomings, this is a great and very powerful computer, and can be used for gaming or for a powerful workstation. Great gaming PC for somebody who does not want to or know how to build one. I would have given it 5 stars, but will knock one star down because there is spec issue. Best Buy on their website as well as computer packaging and even sticker on the case list bluray as standard feature. However computer is only equipped with DVD drive. This is why I give it 4 stars.
