The best Chromebook on the market

With Android apps now compatible with the stable channel on this particular Chromebook, it's the only device I need. 1.) Build quality. The full-aluminum body is gorgeous; it looks and feels like a thin macbook! It doesn't feel cheap like other Chromebooks do; I am confident it can take a beating. The touchpad is smooth and responsive, never glitching up on me; both it and the keyboard feel like they are pulled straight from a new Macbook. The adjustable keyboard backlight is a nice change from my windows laptop which did not have that feature. The screen is beautiful, and looks great from every angle. 2.) Specs. My little brother, a gamer and non-Chromebook user, was appalled when I told him it had 4GB of RAM. However, it truly feels like Chromebooks will never need much more with how lightweight the OS is. I am definitely a power-user, and often have multiple apps, many tabs, and music all going at once, and this thing doesn't even falter. The Core-M processor is amazing, and outperforms the Pentium version according to Octane benchmarking. The 64GB of storage is lovely; with proper Google Drive syncing and internet access, you probably won't need any more. In case you do, it has a slot for an SD card and two USB-C ports. I love how I can charge the laptop from either side. 3.) IT RUNS ANDROID APPS IN THE STABLE CHANNEL As one of the few Chromebooks that can do this, I no longer need Windows to run music editing software, VLC player, or download torrents. Additionally, I can play my favorite Mobile games, use my Bible app, Groupme, and many others. I used to be glued to my phone all the time... well, now my Chromebook can do everything it can do short of making straight-up phonecalls! Chromebooks are the future. Solid 5-star rating. I look forward to many years with this bad boy.

After 2 months, I truly appreciate the features of the ASUS C302CA. Rarely used my computer outside of Chrome anyway. Can still do word processing in DOCS. Get my email, etc. Pros ~ Excellent backlit keyboard, Extra strong gorilla glass screen, Plenty of memory, Love the instant on SSD, Sound is top notch as I listen to Top Gun, Excellent touchpad, Excellent metal case. Many extra features, Made to last. Though pricey, it is worth the price of admission. Cons ~ Strong glass makes it difficult to use touchscreen at times, video is choppy more than I like, but not unique to laptops.

I have been a Chromebook user/owner since the first Acer in 2011. The Asus 302CA (m3 processor) is by far the best Chromebook that I have possessed. Very quick, excellent display, very nice BACKLIT keyboard, and the 2 in 1 features are provided by a sturdy hinge. I took a chance ordering this device because I knew that the online description on the Best Buy site was filled with errors. As mentioned above this device ($499) has a terrific backlit keyboard - the BB site lists "NO" for backlit, and when I contacted Bestbuy support, I was assured that the keyboard was not backlit. This device is a 2 in 1 Chromebook, probably the reason for the "flip" in its name. The BB site listing and the title of the listing tell us that it is not a 2 in 1 device. The hard drive is a 64 GB eMMC - embedded multimedia card and it does not spin at 5400 rpm. Bottom line: Asus - super job! Bestbuy - know enough about your product lines to give accurate information. Many people believe the product descriptions that you are providing are true. Asus legal department should be interested.

This is the best COMPUTER I've ever owned. Not Chromebook, Not PC(Have an Iphone, never owned a Mac) but actual computer. With the addition of the Play Store, there is really NOTHING that I can't do on this machine. Of course, if you're a gamer, programmer, whatever then you probably already know that this isn't for you...but for the 99% rest of us, this machine is AWESOME!!!

I was considering buying another tablet, but I decided I wanted to have a device with a keyboard. Wanted something small to use at home or take with me around town. After researching a number of Chromebooks, it was down to this one and the Samsung Pro. With the 64gb memory, it was a no-brainer to choose the Asus. *This is my first experience with a Chromebook. I thought it would be tough switching to a non-Windows machine, but it was not. *The integration with Google products is convenient, since I am a Gmail, GoogleMaps, etc. user. *I haven't added many extra apps yet; instead, I just use websites for the usual web places that I use. *Videos on Amazon Prime play fine. Supposedly, Dish Anywhere works on some Chromebooks, but it does not work on this one. Very pleased with this machine.

Asus products always exceed my expectations. The same with this Chromebook. I would put the quality of the build up there with any MacBook Pro or better. I'm not a math person but I do like the quality of the MacBook Pros. The quality of this is equal like I said before if not better lighted keyboard really should be a must on any laptop or Chromebook and this has it easy to use SD cards for expansion wonderful touch screen in the flip ability make this one of the best purchases I've ever made. I will be getting another one shortly and I even have the smaller version of the same laptop. Equally great build even at a much less price

Asus Chromebook was a gift for my 7 yr old daughter and she can't get enough of it. The touchscreen and ability to fold the unit over makes it great for home, car, plane, etc. Also very durable. Quite happy with the unit.

Switched from laptop. Familiar with Asus Android tablet and Remix mini cloud based. Google Chromebook has serious issues with Google apps. Needed to search and install Google Playstore. Was warned of this but thougjt it would have been resolved. Android apps struggle to run. Most warn of incompatibility on install. Clumsy taskbar app configuration. Cannot rename device to personally preferred name. Many apps that run flawlessly on Asus android tablet choke. Even news apps like The Hindu news app from India. Most financial apps like my Fifth Third bank, Chase etc. Sputter and crash. Auto updates irritate. Even Chrome browser crashes at times. Overall wasted investment. Bad transition to cloud centric environment

    Great Chromebook for any purpose

Disclosure: I bought this laptop on release way back in January 2017 from Newegg because at the time, they were only ones who offered the Intel Core-m3 with 64GB of storage version when Best Buy for same price offered a 32GB Pentium variant. Seems they only very recently corrected this now, but I have been using this DAILY for 9 months now and absolutely love it! This is a great Chromebook. 12.5" 1080p IPS panel with 300 nits of brightness, and 75% sRGB and 58% AdobeRGB color coverage. Build quality is all aluminum, and the keyboard is backlit with 5 levels of brightness and is honestly one of the best laptop keyboards I've typed on from any manufacturer. Since launch, it has now been updated to support the Google Play Store in the stable channel, and that in itself will very soon go out of beta mode with most apps working fine. It is a 2-in-1 device, so it has 4 different orientations to use it: Laptop, tablet, tent mode and display mode. I will admit at about 2.7 pounds, it is a bit heavy as a tablet if you're using it laying down; best to have it on your lap or on a desk for comfort. If you're looking for a really well built device that's lightweight and small for high school/college, I can't recommend this enough for most students who can get by with Google Docs or Office Online. For home use, this thing is really great for any web use or Netflix binges. The Google Play Store just adds more fun with games.
