We bought this computer this summer and it's great, except for not working well with non-Vista games. We spent a couple of hours at Best Buy and the technician got everything to work (THANKS!!!) but now, after loading Oblivion and it's addons, it got blue screen of death errors and the ASUS tech support said we had to restore it to original condition so now we have to redownload and reinstall EVERYTHING. We are sad. Also the lid has cool-looking blinking lights that annoy everyone but the user, but they can be turned off. Also the CD randomly appears and disappears in the My Computer list. Strange.

I've owned it for 4 days now and it has been a wonderful computer. It is very fast and the graphics are beautiful. I know some complained about the screen being low rez but I have played all my games on a high rez desk top screen and haven't notice a difference between the two (but I'm only a casual gamer so maybe I'm more forgiving). It has run every game I've thrown at it with ease. I bought this as a desktop replacement and I'm very pleased.

This is a great laptop for gaming especially if you don't have thousands to spend. ASUS makes a good computer. Its got a good video card, nice display,so far plenty of hard drive space, and it looks pretty awesome. No real complaints except bluetooth would be nice for more wireless connectivity, and i wish it had a bit faster processor. But no regrets on the purchase.

This is my first laptop ever. And by that i'm Very Happy with my choice. I bought it for 1 main thing and that was gaming. I bought it so i can it on the road play games. It holds so far CoH, Dawn of war n the Newest Game Warhammer with Ease. All of the Games have better graphics then i thought they would have.. On the Vista side i am a Xp user my Desktop has it..and Vista for me is easy and its not as hard as everyone says...i noticed the Norton that the Laptop comes with gave me more problems askin about installin and stuff but thats basic stuff...people said it was vista its not.. For my first time using Vista it felt like i knew what i was doing from the jump start. I have told alot my friends about this laptop and the price is awesome and worth it..and i Sugguest Any gamer out there that wants to take gamin on the Run and out of their house this laptop is where it is..i personally like the 15.6 screen..i actually thought bigger screen would be better..but really smaller screen makes it easy to travel with and etc. The Battery life is like any other laptop it does drain but you switch to threw modes.. I also like they have full keyboad and then they have the Num pad on it makes life much easier. The Blue lights on top and mouse pad give that look of Don't mess with me lol.

I recently bought a Qosmio X305, and seriously.. its a piece of ****! It lags when you play games, like counter-strike. It had an fps of 11-20 which was horrible. I even lagged when playing warcraft III, i mean that game is old and for a computer with such specs, there should be no problem. But i traded it in for this ASUS, and it is awsome. It runs Counter-strike Source on about 60-140fps, but on average 70-80fps, which is great and having no lag! I reckon it is the best decision i made so far in trading it in, although the ASUS makes this humming noise when you plug in the jack, but when you turn up the music, its fine. I dont need to repeat the specs of this comp, it may not sound that great but it runs awsome! Well much better than the Qosmio that cant run any games. If you're confused which to get, get this computer and you wont regret it. And if you're thinking about the low resolution, dude it doesnt affect it that much, and its much better having 1366X766 res than getting a computer with really good res but cant run anything. This is currently the Best buy i had from Best buy, cant get any better.. ASUS is the bomb! Oh and the sound system is decent, but if you want really good ones u can just get a bose off best buy again and plug them in.. But i reckon its sufficient..

I was very suprised when I saw this machine in my local Best Buy. After seeing the specs I was prettyimpressed for what this machine had for the money. My wife and I tried gaming laptops a few years ago with little success. When I saw this model it had the best of everything for the money. This machine has a very solid contrustion and lots of nice little details. Here are a few examples: Main features: * Solid graphics performance (can run Vanguard, Spore, and UT3 at Max settings) * Two hard drive bays is very nice. Even with the two 100gb HDDs included it's very cost effective if you want more space to upgrade. * Plenty of USB ports, eSata port, and other nice extras. * Vista 64bit Home Premium * Full Numpad Nice extras: * OLED readout above the keyboard is a nice touch * Touch sensative buttons also a nice touch * Multimedia suite that can be used w/o booting to OS for video, music, and web surfing * Lightscribe drive * Very nice cable warp and cleaning cloth included In short if you're looking for a great gaming computer without breaking the bank this is a great choice. It is naturally not as powerful as desktop machines, but for a machine on the go it has a lot of great features for most gamers.

i bought this thing a week ago and i havent had a single problem i have alot of games and this thing just wizzes by em i mean ive never had anything this fast. i would reccomend it to gamers that hate lag. very reliable and im not gunna lie ive never heard of asus but they are my new favorite computer brand.

I have been searching for a laptop since my 2nd HP broke. Doing research I noticed that ASUS is highly rated so I was looking online to purchase one. Then I saw Bestuy get the G50 in stock and I had to try it out. My son and I spent over two hours in Best Buy trying to figure out which laptop met our needs. Despite the first salesman's advice and warning that this ASUS would not play 32 bit games (especially Command and Conquer) I used one of their computers to search the internet and then spoke with Geek Squad guy and learned that you can play these games. Boy am I glad I took the time to research it. This computer is very fast, allows us to play C&C at the fullest settings (we were never able to play the game that way) and it has some cool features regarding battery consumption and a message center above the keyboard. It also has nice LED lights on the top of the laptop. The feel of the keys and computer are very good. Hopefully it will noy break like my HPs! You will not be disappointed if you buy the G50.

This is a great buy. I'm using it now to type this review. It is very fast and has amazing graphics. The widescreen display with a built in camera and mic are also pros. It has about an hour long battery life which could be troublesome but it is well worth it.

Anything from graphics, to battery life, all the way to the awesome Altec Lansing speakers which have awesome audio seperation, is just fantastic. I needed a dedicated graphics card in a mobile platform, and that's what I got, and much more.

I JUST PURCHASED IT TODAY. ITS PERFORMED BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS. SOMEONE IN NORTH HAMPTON, WILL DEFINETLY BE INTERESTED. ITS WORTH IT FOR THE SPECS, AND THE PRICE IS GREAT. EVERYONE WILL BE INTERESTED. DEFINETLY A BEST BUY.

I'm an mac person, but wanted a windows laptop for gaming, I was very surprise how fast this laptop is, I heard a lot of bad things about window machines, but i don't see any problems with it.

This laptop is awesome. I recently traded a Gateway FX-6850 for this, and I am happy i did! This computer is blazing fast. The 4GB of ram is awesome, the 7200rpm HDD is awesome, the graphics card is awesome, this laptop is awesome. It has a little LCD display beneath the screen, above the keyboard that shows little stat info, and even tells you if you havea new instant message, or e-mail while in game. I use it to keep track of CPU and memory usage. It also alows you to overclock the cpu through a program. Using the HDMI port to play on my big screen tv is amazing. I love this computer, great buy.

Good little laptop. runs all my games at highest quality without slowing at all. processor speed is a little low but not really an issue. over all well worth the money. good price for a laptop of this quality

at first i got the gateway p-7811FX but returned it because it over heated EVER TIME i played a game. so i got this laptop. that was the best idea of my life. it is pretty portable weighing about 6.25 pounds. a 200 gig hd is good for games to music. i play ever game on very high (which includes crysis, blacksite area 51, and COD4. i would highly recommend it for anybody who loves games and want a cheap gaming laptop. do yourself a favor and get this laptop!

I loved this laptop. The "feel" of the laptop during use was incredible. it just felt like a solid, stable machine. Its very quiet, and I didnt have any unreasonable heat issues. However, the display simply lacks. If you're not viewing dead on and its at even the slightest angle, you will not see a clear picture. I returned this and bought the Gateway FX P-7811 instead. I was truly disappointed that this great laptop was given such a poor display. Had it not been for the viewing angle on this display, I would have kept it.

i`ve bought this laptop two weeks ago and all i can say is that i`m loving it. So fast, i can play crysis, assassins creed and so many games in almost high resolution!!!! only thing i can complain is the small hard disk, for this config. it should have at least a 250gb hard drive!!! it`s a good choice, good price!!!

I got this notebook for school and to play battlefield 2142 on. The game plays so awewome on this notebook! There is a model that is one up from this but bestbuy does not carry it. I like the fact that is has Vista 64 on it and is maxed out on memory. All the mentioned Pros and the 7200 rpm spin rate on the hard drive make this baby perform like a desktop.

This is just an amazing laptop. I picked this thing up and by 4 hours of having it I have fallen in love. This thing is a power house. With dedicated graphics and 4gb of ram you can bet this can run the good stuff. The color scheme blew me away. What a beautiful laptop. Overall great buy.

This is the first gaming laptop I owned, and I enjoyed playing it very much. ASUS put together a really nice package. Build quality is second to none. I highly recommend this baby to any causal gamers.
