    Asus G70S - A graphics monster!!

I purchased the G70S online about a month ago and have been greatly impressed! This machine does exactly what I bought it for: casual to extreme gaming...that I can carry to other locations. Originally bought to take on a deployment overseas, the G70S has lived up to the hype I've read about on several blogs. It is a bit on the heavy side (something I expected) but it does have a 17" screen which looks absolutely gorgeous. The battery life plain sucks - so don't stray too far from an outlet, but that also is expected from a laptop that uses modern processors & graphics (including SLI). As mentioned by most everyone else, I think the processor is a bit underwhelming - but there is the option of overclocking in Vista (which ships in the 64bit version!) (I am still researching whether the processor can be upgraded to 2.6ghz or higher) As an avid gamer, I'll still have a desktop system for ultimate performance...but until I upgrade, the Asus G70S is the new "Top-Dog" in my home network. With 5 systems, including 1 Alienware and 2 custom builds - the Asus is definately worth every penny!!

Purchased this thing and it works great. I do wish the processor were higher up I mean for $2000.00 it's cool at 2.1 GHz but would think 2.9 GHz would not of had killed them. I do wish it had a blue ray drive. I could of gotten one with a blue ray drive but then I loose the 1 gig video card and 7200 rpm hard drive. So I will sacrifice them and get an external blue ray drive instead other than that it works picture perfect and I have everyone at school asking me about it and drooling all over about it. I love it sure beats the desktop I bought last year from a competitor LOL teach me to wait on technology. I am going to investigate and contact Asus and see about getting a better battery. I do recommended a cooling pad and an anti glare screen as well. I wish anyone that purchases it good luck and you will love it.

I heard some bad things about asus but after seeing some reveiws I decided to get it. I have not regretted it. It is fast and has amazing graphics. The only problem is 2.1 Ghz isn't really a gaming machine processor. At least 2.5 like a mac would have been nice. Also the price. For 2000 you can get a quad core. But still I love this computer because it comes with TWO 8700 M graphics card that can go throught any game. You can't go wrong withouth this computer. Even the style is nice.

    Your ordinary stylish gaming laptop

This 10.5 pound gaming laptop will catch the eyes of many. Though heavy, the screen is crisp and the dual graphic cards provide an amazing experience. There is lighting but the processor is weak for a laptop this price. The specs take a toll on the battery life, so it is best to be near a power outlet.

This thing rocks, it does exactly what I bought it to do. I can now play World of Warcraft with all video and sound settings maxed out and I still get between 60-110 frames per second even in the most heated combat. This thing runs Crysis pretty good too. Trying to duplicate this system through Velocity Micro, Dell or Alienware would cost you a fortune too, this is a great price for a great system.
