I’ve only had this case for less than a week, and strands are already coming out of the fabric. For a $76 case, this level of quality is unacceptable. It looks cheap and unfinished, like something that would start fraying after a few days of use—and that’s exactly what happened. The stitching feels weak, and the material doesn’t seem durable enough for daily handling. For this price, I expected something that would actually protect my device, not something that starts coming apart immediately. Definitely not worth it.

I purchased the case for my ASUS ROG Ally X, and I’m honestly very impressed with the quality.
First of all, the build feels extremely solid and sturdy. It’s not one of those cheap soft cases — this one feels premium and well-protected. In fact, it accidentally fell from around 6 feet with the handheld inside, and nothing happened. No damage, no scratches — everything was perfectly fine. That alone gave me a lot of confidence in the protection.
One of my favorite features is the pouch on the back (Xbox-style design). It’s super practical. I can easily carry my earbuds, charger, phone cable, and other small accessories without needing a separate bag. It makes everything much more convenient when traveling.
There are also compartments inside for memory cards and small items, which is a very thoughtful touch. It’s clear that this case was designed with real gamers in mind.
Overall, it looks good, feels premium, and most importantly, protects the device extremely well. Definitely worth the money and highly recommended if you want proper protection and smart storage in one case.

I recently got this case for my Ally, and I’m really impressed. The hard shell offers solid protection for bumps and drops, and the detachable pouch on the back is great for storing the charger and earbuds. It fits the device perfectly and has a soft fleece lining to prevent scratches. While it’s a bit pricey, it’s worth it for the peace of mind, especially if you travel frequently with your Ally.

Good light weight, durable case. Fits the Xbox Ally like a glove.
like how the small pouch for cables on the back can be removed .
I do think it's a little expensive.

this is a nice, quality case that perhaps should’ve been included with the devices, but you can’t go wrong with this one since that isn't an option. i feel like the device could survive a small fall with this case.

It seems like every time I buy a case I'm conflicted. But this case is just all around great. It's a sturdy and protective shell. There is hardness that not only keeps the Ally locked in but also acts as a stand. The handle on the top of the case is sturdy as well. Best of all there is a secondary pouch in the back that can be removed. I have put in an extra charger and stylus. To me if you're going buy an Xbox Ally this is a must buy.

Has helped me from destroying my Xbox ally. It's padded nicely and the pouch on the front of it is big enough to hold the charger, Bluetooth foldable keyboard and mouse. So you pretty much have everything you need in one.

Very nice, sturdy hard case for your Xbox ROG Ally (fits either version). The case is fairly slim and has a velcro-detachable carry bag on the back for the power cable, so you can pull that off for a slimmer case to carry if you don't need to drag a cable around. All that said, it does feel about $30 more expensive than it needs to be.

Great product, very sturdy holds the ally x perfectly in it, the extra velcro strap in it helps out incase you forgot to zip it shut ensuring your system doesnt fall out

Fits the handheld securely and has extra storage for the charging cable and other accessories you may want to store. The interior strap secures the handeld in place and can be used as a stand as well as allows for Micro SD cards to be stored.

Official product, so it fits perfectly.
nice case, and while i like the idea of the detachable accessory caee, i tend to always leave it on to carry my charger.
solid quality carrying case to protect my Xbox in travel.

The case works perfectly to carry and protect the Rog Xbox Ally. I really like the branding/logos on it. Has a very high quality premium feel. The detachable accessory bag on the back was a big factor in my purchase as it is a perfect place to keep the charger and anything else you may need.

The overall structure and design of this case is better than the last 2 handheld cases Asus put out with the Ally and Ally x respectively.
By providing a separate pouch that attaches to the back with velcro for accessories/power adaptor, they were able to make the case overall a lot slimmer than the case released with the Ally X. Overall build is fine, no complaints, keeps the ROG logo on the front, and if you remove the accessory pouch, it has the words "This is an XBOX case." under it, which is amusing. Leaning into the everything is an xbox marketing that microsoft has been pushing and further establishing with this partnership.
Asus does however really need to reign in the price on these cases, and I honestly feel they should be included with the Handheld in the first place based on the premium pricing we pay for these handheld gizmos.
The Built in stant is a bit better this time around than previously included in their cases, no longer requiring the case to be half closed to support the stand functionality, but similarly to before the stand is a bit wide and blocks off a lot of the intake vents on the back of the handheld, so its fine for propping it up so you can configure some things with a keyboard, or watch a video, no so much something I would ever recommend using to play a game on it with an external controller or keyboard and mouse.
In the end, their case designs are improving, much like the handhelds themselves, but I definitely think ASUS overvalues their branded case, and they should be taking a thinner margin on it.
If you like the ROG aesthetics though, it's functional, and if you have the money, It's not a bad case.
