I waited a long time for this device to release, extremely excited for a Surface Pro alternative with more power, all of the features I was looking for in a creative-centered device in the most flexible form factor available. The PC overall is exactly what I was hoping for, but with one massive miss. All marketing for this PC included the stylus, the ASUS Pen 3.0, and stressed the quality, functionality, and experience. I was absolutely blown away to open the box after ordering on release day to find no stylus included. Something had to be wrong, as every review I'd seen had the stylus included in the box, and it's use was so aggressively advertised everywhere I'd seen reference to the PC. It's a tablet Windows PC, after all, designed for creatives. The rear cover has the pen holder integrated. There's no way that they'd sell it in other markets including the stylus, but leave it out in the US, right? I reached out to ASUS and they confirmed that the model number includes the stylus. Connected with Best Buy per ASUS's recommendation and was told that it's not part of the package. Reach back out to ASUS, open tickets, multiple phone calls, chat sessions, emails, and finally received a response that they do NOT include the Pen 3.0 in the US release. When I expressed my frustration and asked what the solution would be, I was told that it's not available to purchase on it's own. I couldn't possibly be more blown away at how horrible of a decision this is on the part of ASUS. To then be told "we're sorry, that's frustrating, have a good day" by ASUS support has completely changed my view of the company. I've owned ASUS products for many, many years. This is very likely to be my last, if I end up keeping it. I wouldn't have questioned the purchase for a moment if it was $50 more and included the stylus, I can't wrap my head around the decisions made that lead to the exclusion of it in this package. Beyond that, to have absolutely zero solution in place for a customer to purchase the Pen 3.0 just shows that the priority isn't on the customer experience and overall satisfaction, and when ASUS misses the mark, they don't really care. If you value the ability to use a stylus that integrates well into the package (I've purchase a third party device that rattles around in the compartment as the magnetic point isn't in the right location) you'll want to look elsewhere. Of course, there are older versions of ASUS pens available, but they're expensive and fall short of the intended experience per ASUS's marketing. Spend a bit more for a very similar Surface Pro option where you have to buy your own keyboard and pen? Buy a more "standard laptop" configuration? I'm not sure of the answer as this was so very close to my perfectly ideal solution, but as of this moment I'm unable to use the device in the way that I was lead to believe I'd be able to.
