Customers are impressed with the ROG Delta II Wireless Gaming Headset's sound quality, citing excellent microphone quality and well-crafted equalizer presets as highlights. However, some users found the headband fit to be less than ideal, wishing for more padding and a more secure fit, especially for those with smaller heads. The audio quality was frequently praised as being among the best. A more adjustable headband would improve the overall user experience.

Excellent Gaming Headset from ROG

The ASUS ROG Delta II is one of the better gaming headsets I’ve tried recently. The first thing I noticed upon unboxing is how lightweight it is. While it doesn’t compete directly with some of the ultralights you’ll find on the market, I was still impressed with the build quality and weight distribution. It makes it comfortable to wear for several hours. It comes with two separate sets of ear cups, one being PU Leather and the other a breathable mesh. I have become accustomed to the mesh ones since I sometimes wear glasses and I don’t like sweaty ears. That said, you’ll probably not change them out often because these don’t have a twist to lock or remove like some other competitors do which makes it a bit difficult to swap them frequently.
The headset comes with a boom mic (which is somewhat hidden in the box) and the ability to mute directly on the headset. When muted a red ring on the end of the mic will illuminate. The dongle is USB-C but an adapter is included in the box if you need it.
You can connect to the headset via the 2.4 GHz wireless dongle, 3.5 audio cable, or Bluetooth. The headset supports Windows and PS5 with the dongle. I was also able to get the dongle to work on my Mac and Steam Deck plug and play. However, if you want to use it with an Xbox your only option is wired.
It supports playing back audio from your game and Bluetooth at the same time, which is great for streaming music while gaming or taking a phone call. There are buttons directly on the headset to take or end a call, as well as separate volume controls for Bluetooth so you can easily mix the volumes as needed directly on the headset. There’s also a dedicated power button for each.
One thing I always test on headsets is the range of the 2.4GHz wireless. Nothing scientific here as it depends on so many factors, but I just want to know if I can walk to the kitchen and get a cup of coffee. Most of my headsets will barely reach the kitchen and cut out at about that point. Happy to say these worked well in the kitchen and even went into the next room so I can say the range is very good.
ASUS offers their full Armoury Crate or Armoury Crate Gear software for Windows to configure the headset. The full version is best if you have an ASUS laptop or other peripherals from the brand, otherwise just download the Gear version which has the same functionality but without the bloat of supporting other devices. The #1 thing you will want to adjust is the equalizer as the out of the box the sound is flat. This is also where you can adjust lighting and microphone adjustments.
With the equalizer enabled and a bit of tuning, I thought the sounds it can produce for games and music were clean and crisp, with a wide soundstage. There’s a bass boost option that can be configured which I found to make a significant difference if you find the bass lacking. Unfortunately, I found the settings I made in Windows didn’t save to the headset and were reset even when I moved to another Windows system. When I switched to Mac again, the default flat sound signature was back and immediately noticeable.
For lighting I found that it’s best to just leave it off. The battery will last over 100 hours without lightning and just a bit over 24 with it on. In my opinion I’d rather have battery life than RGB lightning. You can also disable RGB by holding the 2.4 GHz function button for 5 seconds. Regarding the battery, there is a fast charge for roughly 15 minutes to get more than a workday’s worth of usage.
There is no active noise cancellation as you might find in other premium headsets. That said you will get some passive cancellation with the earcups and the PU Leather ones will provide a bit more isolation. It also does not support ASUS’ AI Noise cancelling software that I’ve seen on previous ROG products but no one told me they had issues hearing me in-game.
Pros:
- Tri-Connectivity: 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, and 3.5mm Wired
- 50mm titanium plated drivers
- 10mm boom microphone w/ mute indicator
- Over 100-hour battery life (no RGB)
- Lightweight only 318g
- High-res 24-bit 96kHz audio
- Simultaneous Audio from Bluetooth and Gaming
- Long wireless range
- 15-minute fast charge = 11 hours of use
- Includes two pairs of ear cushions (leather and breathable)
- Armoury Create Gear
Cons:
- No active noise cancellation
- Equalizer a must for best sound
- Configurations are device dependent
Overall – ASUS is one of my go to brands for gaming gear and this headset will deliver great sound for both music and games provided you adjust the equalizer.

Another Win for ASUS

As someone who already owns multiple ASUS products, like my ASUS desktop and the ROG Ally handheld—I’ve had nothing but solid experiences with the brand. So, when I was looking to upgrade my gaming audio setup, it just made sense to keep things in the family and go with the ROG Delta 2 wireless headset. I figured, ASUS hasn't let me down yet, why not keep the streak going.
Right out of the box, one of the first things I noticed was how lightweight these headphones are. Definitely lighter than my alternate set but still felt premium in-hand—no creaks, no cheap plastic vibe. Just a well-balanced, quality build with that signature ROG aesthetic.
The headphone kit came well-stocked with all the necessaries like the pre-installed leather ear cups that fully cover the ears (and feel super comfy and cooler than typical cloth ones). They included an extra cloth ear cushions if you prefer that style, a detachable mic, wireless USB dongle for 2.4GHz connection, two braided cables (3.5mm audio jack + USB with USB-C adapter).
I went full Bluetooth mode for the cleanest, wire-free setup and connection was instant and seamless. Then I remembered these things can connect to two devices at once for a simultaneous dual connection. I tested it briefly and it works like a charm, but honestly, when I’m gaming, I’m trying to tune out the world, not take calls or listen to music over my gameplay. Still, it’s a nice niche feature for those who like multitasking or need to stay alert for messages while gaming.
Audio is crystal clear, with plenty of depth and detail. The full spectrum is there from rich lows to sharp highs, hitting those top-end frequencies. Whether it's the ambient background sounds in RPGs or light footsteps in FPS games, the clarity is top-notch.
Battery life is another highlight. Even with powerful sound delivery, these things hold up for long sessions. I turned off the RGB lighting right away (not because I’m not a fan, just want to conserve as much juice for extended sessions without charging. Unless you're streaming or want a little light show for your setup, the lighting is mostly eye candy for others anyway.
Comfort-wise, no complaints. The over-ear design and cushion materials keep things light and breathable. I’ve done multiple-hour sessions with no pressure points or extensive heat build-up. The lack of active noise canceling honestly is not a big deal. The sound performance is so immersive that I didn’t feel the need for it. It naturally blocks enough out just by doing its job well.
Overall, the ASUS ROG Delta 2 Wireless Headset absolutely lives up to the ROG name. It’s got the build, the features, the sound quality, and most importantly, the comfort that matters for both casual players and hardcore grinders. Whether you’re team wireless, want dual-device capability, or just looking for a headset that doesn’t weigh you down during long gaming nights, this one’s a worthy buy.
ASUS keeps proving why they’re a trusted name in the game. This headset is just another win in their lineup.

I love stuff from ASUS. I've got several laptops going back to the G1 to a current Strix unit. I've got a couple of PCs with ASUS gaming motherboards. I've even got an Ally handheld! I've got so many pairs of headsets from just about everyone and these rank in my top 3.
Connectivity is key. With the Delta II you can one of connect 3 ways making it universally compatible:
+ Bluetooth
+ 2.4ghz with the supplied dongle (the dongle has a USB-C connection but ASUS supplies a USB-C to USB-A adapter)
+ 3.5mm audio jack with supplied cable
Comfort:
+ ROG leather ear cushion isolates sound for an immersive playing experience
+ the provided second set of cushions is a hybrid fabric which doesn't reduce ambient sound as much but it does breath a bit better. I switched to these right out of the box because of the softer feel.
+ the headband provides a wide range of adjustability and there is plenty of flex for a good firm fit without the uncomfortable pressure that some headsets have.
+ the earcups swivel almost 180 degrees, adjusting to different head shapes
Controls:
+ volume controls... why 2 though? There are separate volume controls for Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz. Why two controls? Because you can listen to 2 different devices using the Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz connections simultaneously. For me this is a bit odd but maybe listen to music from your phone while playing a game? Or maybe a separate Discord device? I'll probably stick to only one but the second is there if I choose to use it. The 2.4Ghz volume wheel also acts as a microphone mute/unmute toggle by pressing down on it. That's cool... I was wondering where the mute was.
+ Power button that switches between off and 2.4Ghz
+ Function button with LED for start/stop/next track/previous track and LED lighting control
+ and a second power and function button to switch from off to Bluetooth with similar controls for audio playback and phone call control
I do most of my gaming on a PC and prefer to use the 2.4Ghz connection because it provides the lowest latency over Bluetooth. The sound is incredible but the volume might be a tad low at it's highest setting. I pegged out the volume on the headset and on the PC and it seems a bit on the low side but I do have some moderate hearing loss so I'm sure it's just me. I may need to tinker with PC setting some to punch it up but for most folks it will be more than adequate.
I haven't tested battery life yet since I usually charge after each time I play. Nothing like dropping sound in the middle of a raid. But the posted battery life is over 100 hours on a charge using 2.4Ghz connection. I don't purchase wireless audio for battery life.
The removable boom mic has a foam "wind" guard. While on Discord my team has no problem hearing me crystal clear. The easy mute on the volume dial allows me to bleep out anything that I don't want to share during a game. :) The only wish I would have is a volume control for the microphone. Maybe integrating the audio volumes into one and having the other for mic volume would be a plus for me.
Included in the box:
ROG Delta II headset with soft leather ear cushion installed
Extra soft hybrid fabric ear cushion set
removable microphone
2.4Ghz wireless dongle
USB-A to USB-C charging cable
USB-C to USB-A dongle adapter
3.5mm audio cable
If I had more than 2 thumbs it would get more but 2 thumbs up, ASUS!

The ROG Delta II headphones by ASUS are another great product from this production line. I have had now used two of their gaming laptops and these headphones maintain the quality that I have come to love. These are a great gaming accessory, having 3-modalities of connectivity resulting in the ability to connect to either PCs, consoles and/or mobile devices. The options are to use either Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz mode and wired 3.5mm connection. The wired connection option enables use with the more limited devices, while the Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz mode allows for elite use and options.
There is a USB-C dongle included to indulge in the 2.4GHz wireless mode technology with this one is able to connect with PC and activate enhanced features via Armoury Crate application (ASUS/ROG interface). There is an equalizer, surround sound option, bass boost and additional options for sound. There is adjustable options for the DETACHABLE microphone. There are lighting options for that personal touch that can be paired with pre-existing lighting setup through Armoury Crate. Initial setup through Armoury Crate took about 5-minutes total to download/install new firmware and restart my device.
My favorite part of these headphones is dual connectivity and how this is enabled for the headset. The left side of the headphones contains the 2.4 GHz functionality while the right side of the headphones contains the Bluetooth connectivity. So, on the left you are able to toggle on/off that primary connection with either PC or gaming device (wherever the dongle is). On that same side there is a functionality button that allows for play/pause, skip, etc. Mute/un-mute along with a volume control wheel. The right side, you can toggle on/off Bluetooth connectivity. Once again with a functionality button to allow for answering/rejecting calls along with changing of music/audio, also with a volume control wheel. You can have dual connectivity AND dual play. So you can overlay sound from a BT device and also the primary 2.4 GHz device. I was mixing my own music earlier, quite the experience. Other than that, microphone works fantastically. There is an including microphone that is detachable (awesome feature, as I have a microphone that is big/clunky as most gaming headsets have when I'm not actively using it). I figure this could likely be swapped out as well (have not tried, but would expect interchangeability given the connection). Otherwise, headphones come charged and I've been using them for a few days now and still have not needed to recharge them, ASUS claims 110 hours which is likely correct based on my observations so far. Otherwise, there is an additional set of ear cushions provided to choose between a more faux leather feel or cloth material. And, sound quality, is enjoyable without specific complaints. Yes, there are nicer headphones sound wise out there but for a dual connectivity, gaming headset with solid microphone, this is an appealing device

I've tested a lot of headphones. These tick a lot of boxes for me and sound really good while not being crazy expensive. I don't know if they'll be my daily drivers but I can definitely see them seeing regular use in my home.
Setup was really simple. I tested the 3.5mm connection first because I was most excited about this part since I'm a streamer and use wired headsets so I don't hear the latency in my ear when I'm talking. This is the first headset I've used that has the wired input on the right side, so I'd have to do some rearranging of equipment before I could use them regularly for streaming. Plugging them in, they worked right away. No extra setup required. I then tested the 2.4ghz connection to the dongle which also worked flawlessly right away. And I set up a bluetooth connection to my phone which also worked right away. Nothing extra to set up with any of the connection methods. Just connect/plug/pair and go.
One thing I really like after I got familiar with the placement of things is the separation of bluetooth and PC (I tested these on a PC). All of the bluetooth controls are on the right ear and all of the PC controls are on the left ear. Super easy to control what you want. And with a connection to your phone as well as your PC, it becomes really easy to control the volume of each without having to think about some weird, convoluted combination of buttons or if that one button you're looking for is the 2nd or 3rd button from the left on your right ear. Super into the controls on this headset.
I'm no audiophile but I feel like I have a decent grasp on what sounds good. I did some headphone tests and this headset passed every test with good results. Music and games sound really good. The bass is there but in a more subtle way that you can "feel" without physically hurting your head/ears. It all just sounded very well rounded and nice without being crazy.
Comfort was also really good. The weight of the headset is fairly light. It doesn't feel heavy on your head at all. The top strap kind of leans forward a little bit to disperse the little weight there is fairly well. There was a set of pleather cups already attached but I was surprised to see an extra pair of cloth ear cups you can use instead of you prefer that style. Replacing them is pretty straightforward and easy as well.
Overall, I like these. For a more midrange pricepoint, they do a lot of things really well. I wish the 3.5mm jack was on the left, but other than that I can't think of anything else that these fall very short on. If these are in your price range, it's worth giving them a look.
