It's all fun and games until you can't connect to your graphics card. I'm thinking it has something to do with power supply design. #rog= Republic of garbage

I bought this as our new family room PC. Both my 14yr old son and I game and we needed an upgrade. This fits the bill perfectly. It's handled everything we've thrown at it using maximum settings. We're playing Forza Horizon 3, Rocket League and COD all on maxed out video settings on a 1080p monitor. EVERYTHING is as smooth as butter. Zero lag so far. Under full load the PC is considerably quiet. Fan noise is at a minimum. There are plenty of ports and the machine will support multiple monitors out of the box. Setup was a breeze and there was no bloatware, sans the usual McAfee and ubiquitous WildTangent Game mess thingy that are both easily removed. (We use a more reliable Antivirus software). The external dual power supply is unique. One powers the PC, the other is dedicated power to the GTX 1070 video card. I don't mind this setup at all, as it removes another heat source from the PC case. If you're 14, you'll LOVE the configurable pulsating LED lights on the front and bottom of the PC. If you're in your 40's, you'll think they look awful. Conversely, most gaming PC's today are a gaudy mess. The ROG G20 is just the right amount of flash and class. ...with the lights off when I log in. The ONLY negative I can really identify is the Hard Drive. It's a mechanical drive, not an SSD. Even though it spins at 7200rpm, it's still a noticeable difference. Looking at some video's online, it also appears that getting to the bay where we can upgrade to an SSD takes quite a bit of case dismantling. ASUS does include the cable we'll need though. So, they clearly anticipate the end-user upgrading to an SSD at some point. ...even though it apparently voids the warranty from opening the case. The included mouse and keyboard are not very good. We left them in the box as use a Logitech gaming setup.

I bought it and was unable to set up immediately due health. Finally got to it, and then it has spent five days in repairs. So totally NOT impressed. If being ill had not made the return time out, it would be going back. For as much as this cost, it should not have had issues at all.

Just yesterday, started with a randomly flickering screen. It's cool, comparable to a computer I bought during a Fry's 2015 Christmas season crazy specials (took weeks to get all that I needed on sale, but it was worth it)........but really, already a problem? I've had an ASUS ROG laptop that is now 4 years old with no issues, so you can say that I am truly surprised and disappointed...I almost bought Geek Squad but because my laptop is still trucking, now I am sure I am going to have to ship it off...

Small form, powerful, but no SSD and external PS

Was looking to build a small form factor pc but decided to go with this one. You could build one yourself for cheaper buying your own case but the extra cost was worth it. PROS: it has almost everything. i7 plus a powerful graphics for VR. CONS: No SSD! This is a must if you want to load windows FAST under 7 secs. Adding the SSD is bit of a pain. You have to take the whole computer apart basically. First make a recovery usb stick! It doesnt come with a dvd. Very important. Then install the SSD. Important: unplug the HDD sata! This makes sure when you do usb restore, it installs your factory OS on the ssd and not the HDD. Then, replug the hdd back after the restore on ssd is complete. Another con: it has an external power supply. Its needed because they needed to minimize the size of the case. Notice a good number of ppl having problems with the gpu. TIP: ppl with the gtx 1070 not working, make sure the plugs on your power supply is secure on both ends! If for whatever reason the 230w plug is not getting power, your gtx 1070 will not start! The computer would start but only your onboard video would work. Thought the gtx 1070 was dead but securing the power supply brought it back to life!

Just bought it over the recent holiday weekend, and I am extremely impressed, it so far has run all my games on max setting with no stuttering. Ex: just cause 3, fallout 4, Witcher 3, and overwatch. The lighting system can be fun to play around with though I had to update some drivers before getting it to work properly. Overall I'd recommend to anybody looking for a small and quiet gaming machine. Also well worth installing an SSD after purchasing, geek squad installs and insures!

    Video card failure

Only two months of ownership and the video card failed. Prior to that, the machine was great. I noticed in the reviews that videocard failure in this system is a pandemic. ASUS must be taking a bath on this with warranty work.
