Great out of the box experience. Horrible after th

The concept is great. Taking the psu out of the case and making it an external brick allows for the small form factor and a great out of the box experience. In seconds the system is up and running. It was like plugin in a console. The system stays cool and is relatively pretty quiet given the powerful vid card. But that is where the fun ends. During first customer boot, my system BSOD twice. I repaired and even reinstalled windows and finally made it to the desktop. Everything seemed fine for a few hours as I loaded software and transferred files. But just as I was finally feeling satisfied with the purchase another BSOD, and this time, it was unable to repair it. Having some experience with computers I did all the troubleshooting and checked error logs, and worked my way through windows safe mode and command line options. Nope. Couldn't recover this time. What is worse, the only option given to me by tech support was to reinstall windows when it was obvious windows was not the problem. My conclusion based on my experience and troubleshooting is that the drivers installed in the factory are awful revisions. In addition there doesn't seem to be much quality control with regard to the hardware as the video card was already showing signs of flaking out. No, I I won't recommend this product.

I hope you are ready to have cooling issues. The hard drive will crash after a few weeks.

    Not oculus ready

Bought the computer because I wanted to try oculus rift, and the salesman and the description said it was oculus ready. The computer was in stock the oculus needed ordered. Two weeks past before I had time to try it, and when I did there were errors stating ASmedia needed updated.( Later found out most ASmedia drivers aren't supported by oculus) So I did some clicking and downloaded the update. After installation oculus wasn't acknowledged in two of the four ports provided. Ended up having to back log to the older software to get it to work. I didn't buy the geek squad protection so calling the store is useless and past experiences with geek squad is the main reason I didn't buy it.

Good computer. Will overheat. Mine lasted 4 years until the graphics card burned out. Not ideal.

    dead gpu

Looks like a great compact gaming PC. Awesome specs for the sales price. Unfortunately the gtx 1070 did not work at all. Only the integrated gpu worked. Tried to trouble shoot (with different cables, ports, bios settings etc.) but didn't work. Too much hassle for a brand new prebuild pc. I wish Asus had better quality controls. Also I wish you better luck than mine.

The first one I got crashed all the time and Asus support asked me to send it to repair so I exchanged it at Best Buy. The second one made an awful sound all the time and also crashed so I decided to get a refund. Maybe I just had bad luck.

Two Dead Units! STAY AWAY from This Product!!!

This looked like a great deal for my new Oculus set-up for Christmas. However, by January 1 the graphics card in the first unit died. I tried three different monitors and every DVI and HDMI port. Nothing. I took it to Best Buy and they confirmed it was defective and ordered another. The second computer was Dead-On-Arrival! I called ASUS tech support, took it to Best Buy (again), and was told it was defective (again). I will never buy ASUS again and strongly recommend staying away from this poorly engineered product.

Spent an entire month researching which desktop to buy, came up with this one. It's a total piece of dog excrement. After spending waaaaaay too much time to get this thing working, was downloading updated drivers and then GW2. It just went dark. No power,, no monitor, no nothing. It became a paper weight mere hours after purchase. DON'T BUY THIS! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR $$$. Was VERY disappointed with this hardware. I will NEVER buy Asus again.

I bought this computer only to be used for the Oculus. This is all I've used the computer for. In the three months I've had the computer I've had it completly crash two times. Once because ASUS USB drivers, once for the graphics card driver.

Bought this with the Oculus Rift and Oculus touch. Hooked up my monitor via dvi out and hdmi out on the graphics card, no joy. Tried setting up my Oculus headset, the graphics card did not work. This is a gaming computer. The graphics card has to work.
