Good options for the price. I don't mind that it doesn't come with a webcam. Love that it adopted the combined headphone/mic connector. Just make sure that you are aware that if you go with the 512GB option and want to add more, you buy a solid state (it comes with an NVMe inside) and you have to buy the cable separately.

At regular price, the ROG G531GT is a solid computer and one of the better entry level gaming computers on the market right now. Just picked it up at 25% off and for the price, I think it's hands down the best machine you get can. Build quality is solid, specs are impressive and performance is impressive so far. Definitely recommend to others.

The computer is good, the only thing that would make it better is more 16 G RAM instead of 8 G and add a camera. I mean in 2020 I thought all laptops come equipped with a camera. Other than that I have had no problems with it.

4/5 stars for budget, build quality, and performance. Possibly the best 9th gen i7 you'll find in the market today. Everything about the laptop is good, with the exception of the lack of a keyboard number pad, which is mostly just preference, and the lackluster built in speakers. Still 4/5 regardless.

It lacks a camera and number pad. But those are the only two things that I would consider negatives. I didn't need either one so this laptop fit what I was looking for really good. It's light and easy to travel with. The solid state drive and video card make it extremely fast.

great computer for gaming. Only 4 stars because no camera or touch screen. Otherwise its rock solid from video card ,led keyboard, 512ssd,to newer gen i7 . Asus computers are known by gamers

I really like this unit. It's fast and quiet. Plusses: - Insanely fast 9th gen core i7 - Quiet and silent 512GB SSD - 8GB memory is probably minimal spec for gamers, more than enough for a developer like me - a/c WiFi network adapter makes the most of my internet speed - Solid build - Have owned three ASUS laptops, all of them still work well; the older ones are media players - You can usually wait if it's not on sale Minuses: - Could use another USB port - No media card slot - No optical drive (DVD) - Rendering on an external monitor (via HDMI) is terrible for non-gaming applications. It's unclear whether this is my TV/monitor which handles VGA input well but text is hard to read and still images look almost comic-like. Attempts to adjust TV/monitor and laptop settings have not solved this. The minuses (save for the last one) can be worked around with a USB port multiplexer, a USB adapter, and an external USB DVD drive/burner. ASUS has offered another winner at an accessible price point.

Considering I picked this up mainly so I could play Gmod and Skyrim while at college, it more than exceeds what I need it to do. For the price it includes so relatively high end hardware especially when compared to what i was using previously, plus the rainbow backlit keyboard is very stylish.

    Solid laptop but...

So, first off, I got this laptop on sale for 600 dollars I believe so it was a steal for what it is. It plays most AAA titles in medium to high settings 1080p 50-60fps. CPU temps do tend to get a little high but never seem to pass 87°c. I will probably get some better thermal paste in the future to help lower that temp. The screen is a 1080p display at 60hz which means that you should cap all your games no higher than 60fps since it wont get higher than that due to the refresh rate. Now despite the good things, here's the bad: the Sata cable that came in closed with the laptop was damaged which means I couldn't use the 1tb hard drive I purchased. I ordered a new one but still havent received it so unfortunately I'm limited to the ssd storage and an external hard drive. Very unfortunate since the cable that comes with it isnt exactly a universal one. On to my second conplaint: I've had the laptop for about two months now and I already have three dead pixels on screen, not the end of the world but its distracting in game and honestly I shouldn't be having these issues two months in. My third issue: the screen occasionally freaks out and blacks out for about two seconds always three times in a row and it can be extremely annoying especially when you're gaming. And my last issue: the power brick has a connection that plugs into the laptop, the connection in the power brick is incredibly loose and honestly I'm pretty sure it's going to break soon which means I'll be spending more money on this two month old laptop which sucks. So all in all, solid laptop but wait for a sale if you can. And a side note, buy a second 8gb memory stick, you'll thank me.

I got it on a sale that lasted only a day. At $699 was the best option. The good thing about this laptop it is a simple machine that can be upgraded without any problems. The processor is insanely fast and a good video card. The ram is on low side, but you can add more if you wish to. The built quaility seems great and has some nice aeathetics. The con- speakers make a popping sound. The display is not great but it's not a deal breaker. Thunderbolt port would be great.

I had done some research on this laptop and it is great for gaming and everything else, there are few things the laptop does not have such as a camera and i can do without that. But as far as gaming you can game in silent mode without punishing performance too much. the worse problem i had with the laptop was picking it up when i had ordered it the bank triggered a fraud alert and it took almost 4 to 5 hours of with hold time on best buy and the bank. so before you make a large purchase like this call your bank first and tell them you are about to buy this great laptop,

The machine is performing very well, and we love the light display on the keyboard. The only drawback is that we didn't realize there isn't a built in camera for video conferencing.
