For the price, this laptop is a powerhouse. It's fast, smooth, and attractive. I bought this laptop for school purposes. I know what you're thinking, a gaming laptop for school? But let me tell you, if it can run video games with high graphic settings smoothly (which it absolutely does) it can run just about ANYTHING seamlessly.

I dislike using the term "entry gaming" when this laptop is far more capable than just entry level. Yes, Mine is equipped with a i7 9750H Yes, Mine is equipped with a GTX 1650 (Think 1060 3GB) Yes, mine had 8GB of ram (Although upgraded to 16GB) This laptop is a workhorse. Runs Warframe maxed out, 210FPS Runs Final Fantasy 14 at 75+ FPS And pretty much can handle any other game you throw at it. Now, that being said. There are a lot of goods and bads. The goods: 3 USB Ports on ONE side of the notebook, which keeps all your cables neat and not problematically in the way. Power,, HDMI & Ethernet are on the back of the laptop, which is very nice, but for a truly clean and minimal look, i wish one USB port was on the back of the laptop as well. No USB Type C, which I'm not upset over, but its lacking here. And other than a headphone jack, that's all you got. Realistically this laptop performs exactly like other laptops in its field though ASUS does give you a lot of added software to make gaming a bit more beneficial and smooth for you. The new version of windows is used here, so no longer will you be using legacy modes and drivers to update software and features, Most of it is done through the windows store, which is an excellent thing because then you don't have to ever touch updates yourself, its done for you. But, that's mainly just the goods. As for everything else.. For the starting price, some people would expect a high refresh rate display on this computer. The limiting factor on this laptop is its HDMI port, only able to truly output 120hz maximum so getting 144hz displays running on this machine might require a bit of driver modification or, might not be a reality with HDMI. And on top of that the display in this model is only 60hz. IPS yes. Awesome colors too, yes. But only 60hz. Which is fine for everyone that isn't shooting things down in CS GO. The Keyboard is okay, but very annoying to use sometimes. Primarily it comes down to software. For some reason..instead of having one application control the keyboard lighting and macros, there are several individual applications that do this very thing. Now normally this probably wouldn't be an issue however, if ASUS decided to update ANY, and i mean, ANY of those apps. All of them will break keyboard RGB functionality. Which means you'll have to uninstall the drivers, and reinstall them. In the worst case scenario, if you don't your keyboard will default to red, which is fine with me, but it is, very problematic that happened twice over the month of me owning the device. Both times of which required manual user intervention to UPGRADE the bios on the PC, to fix product support issues with the keyboard. I just hope that does not crop up in the future, being that this device is new. Lastly, Battery life is terrible. Don't expect a great long lasting battery, or more than 3 hours. this unit does not have a big enough battery to do just that. THOUGH, it does have the ability to limit the charge rate on the battery to 60, 80, or full capacity, which i love to see. This allows me to prolong the life of the battery especially when I'm not using the PC outside my office.

Its been almost a month i bought this. One thing that bothers me is an occasional fan sound when i tilt it sideways. But i can live with it as its just when im tilting. Also the product description said it had a camera. Which it does not. But i am happy with the purchase as its the cheapest i7 with a decent gaming graphics card i can ever get for this price. I also love the fact i can change the keyboard light color to slmost anything i like. 5 stars for this feature.

I have an Asus laptop I bought for school 11 years ago and it still run like a champ to this very day so when looking for a newer upgrade I chose this one and I was not disappointed in the slight! This machine does it all! Great general laptop Overall even if you are t a gamer, but the gaming with this is the best! Love all the extra bells and whistles with this one! Great job Asus! Only thing I would have liked to see extra on this is a webcam! Other than that it’s amazing!

Absolutely amazing Laptop, runs great Graphics are great, fast and never glitches. I dont understand why someone will give bad review. Overal is that if there is specific feature you are looking for you have to find lap top with thay feature. If you buy lap top with low memory and overload with games of course it will glitch or shut down.

I'm not a heavy gamer, but I play one specific game that requires higher specifications. This computer is in the perfect price range for someone who is on a budget. There are only a couple of reasons I give this computer 4 stars instead of 5 stars. 1. It runs very hot. No matter what I do, the fan is constantly blowing hard, and it is very hot. It blows the hardest when I'm playing a game. 2. The battery life is pretty bad. It lasts maybe an hour unplugged. Even if I'm not using it for a game, the battery drains so quickly. There are times where I unplug it and close it and when I come back to it, the battery is less than half. Even though I have it set to sleep when it's not plugged in, it stays on and drains the battery. These are not issues that would cause me to be upset in any way, just slightly inconvenient at times. All in all, it is a pretty good computer. It runs my games smoothly and I have no major concerns.

Laptop performed as expected. Specs were good. Price reasonable. But I failed to check the webcam, expected it to be standard that it’s built in already. Unfortunately it’s not. Thinking it was a gaming laptop it should come with one. Fell short in my opinion.

runs games consistently at 60-90 fps when loading game running around 200 fps. Battery dies fast when not plugged in and struggles to stay cooled. Can not run secondary screen while gaming for fps drops to 10-20 and cpu starts to run high temperatures.

At regular price, the ROG G531GT is a solid computer and one of the better entry level gaming computers on the market right now. Just picked it up at 25% off and for the price, I think it's hands down the best machine you get can. Build quality is solid, specs are impressive and performance is impressive so far. Definitely recommend to others.

This is a very nice laptop for the price. I paid $699+tax for it and it is worth every penny. I think someone else said in a comment that it is worth about $850 and i completely agree. If you can get it for that then buy it, but don't spend over $900 on it. I play single player games like the witcher 3 on full graphics and it does great. THIS IS NOT A LAPTOP FOR LONG ROAD TRIPS because of the battery life. This is why i only gave 4 instead of 5 stars. I personally only get about 1 1/2 hours of gaming on it before it dies. So you do need to have access to a plug. Luckily the vast majority of people have access to power. This is not a professional gaming laptop but it will play pretty much any game you want it to. Also DEFINITELY buy a mouse!!! The touch pad sucks for gaming and a different keyboard with a numeric pad would not hurt but you can manage without it. You wont be happy without the mouse though. OVERALL I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY THIS AGAIN.

I bought this laptop to do some steam gaming, and it performs incredibly! It powers up in just a few seconds do to it's ssd hd. I am able to run all my graphics on high no problem. Was able to upgrade the RAM and HD capacity in just a few minutes! Definitely worth buying. ASUS really knows how to make gaming laptops.

I was surprised on the performance I got out of these computer, I was able to run Red dead redemption II with no problems, do some editing, and after effects with no problem. I plan to expand the memory to 16GB and add the second drive. The only thing that’s missing is an USB C And a card reader.

I purchased this laptop on sale about a month ago and think it was a great steal. I run all of the games I like to play, including Modern Warfare on Normal flawlessly. Note - I swapped the single 8gb RAM stick with a set of 2x8gb HyperX for an upgrade to 16gb. This this is plenty powerful.

I purchased this laptop as an upgrade from my previous ASUS laptop that had a dedicated GPU. ASUS in general has been an excellent brand for longevity and build quality so I decided to purchase this computer during one of the sales events (I believe my total was around $875 post tax). I've been using this computer for a about a month now and it has exceeded all of my expectations. I play games like Overwatch and Final Fantasy 14 without any issue (constant 60FPS, as the refresh rate is 60hz I believe) and minimal load times. From my findings, the PC boots up in less than the advertised 6 seconds with the standard SSD that is included. The fans can be kind of loud at times (compared to a regular laptop) but I find this to be a good thing as it keeps the system cool and performing at optimal levels.
