Playing games have never being so easy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's the first time I bought a gaming laptop and I'm comfortable with my choice. It doesn't look so great from the outside, because I bought one used and it has a lot of scratches and finger prints, but it provides me great fps during my games, so I don't regret it.

Could not handle CAD/CAM software
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return it because Autodesk Fusion 360 was choppy on it. Bought another ASUS with a GTX1060 and have no problem. Im sure it would be fine for most computer games though.

Great for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great computer. Did not get to use stock configuration much as I immediately installed a m.2 hard drive and was unsuccessful in migrating to the new hard drive. Had to reinstall Windows 10 from scratch, which was easy, and software from Asus. Great value in my humble opinion.

Great laptop for Engineer Students
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my son who is a 3rd year engineering student. It met the specs of what was needed. Love the backlots keyboards and the fast processor. Could use more memory, but we can add. Only negative, could use larger cooling fans for CAD usage.

everything I could have hoped for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before making my purchase of this fine laptop I had to do a lot of soul-searching and brand comparison. I can say (type) with confidence that I made the correct decision in purchasing this laptop. It does everything as advertised and has been just excellent so far.

Not worth the high price tag
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good specs, but not good for the price. $1200 is too much to pay for 1080p, no touch screen, and only a 960m processor, especially with the new GTX 1060 an GTX 1070 laptops that are coming out.

Great gaming laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this laptop for the past month and the only complaint I have is the battery life off the charger. It runs out in less than 2 hours while playing world of warcraft. Besides that the laptop is great! I recommend this laptop to any gamer.

Not sure if Geek Squad guarantee is reliable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this computer as an open box deal and it was given the Geek Squad seal of approval as well or whatever it's called. stating it'll work brand new. This computer freezes constantly, glitches, and is unable to play games online for 5-7 minutes without it freezing and kicking me out. It's not the internet connection. I had century link running at a lowsy 8mbps and it woudn't work. but recently got comcast xfinity with it running around 200 mbps. connected to that wirelessly, and through an ethernet and neither fixewd the problem. tried altering the resolution and graphics and outputs, etc. for the games and no improvement whatsoever.

PCNovice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was scared to purchase this computer having had Apple for the past 10 years. I have not regretted the purchase and team members were great with answering my questions about the product.

Amazing laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for engineering and CAD design and have zero complaints. The video quality is amazing and the design is sleek. My only neutral feeling is that the keyboard feels "mushy" but that's because it uses membrane keys.

It's a good gaming laptop.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want a slim and portable gaming laptop, this will be the best choice. It's not so bulky like alienwares and asus rogs. This just needs better cooling and sound.

Decent laptop with good graphics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Main complaint is that its painfully slow to boot-tho this was an "open box" purchase. Also-when loading Auto-CAD shut down on numerous occasions. Good graphics but you can probably get something better for the cost.

Disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a bit of research I chose this one over the competition. Right out of the box I started to get nervous during the when I realized that it was taking a really, really long time to run the initial setup. It then got stuck and I had to do a hard reboot - again, this is before I had even run a single program. The boot time was incredibly long, especially for a Windows 10 machine. The computer felt very sluggish. It had been about 5 years since I bought my last new laptop so at first I just wrote all of this off as a result of the initial setup. The really obvious flaws became apparent once I was able to finally start using the computer. The keyboard is a bit weird. I'm sure that I would have gotten used to it eventually, but it was definitely not my favorite. I didn't like the fact that all of the function key functions (volume, brightness, etc. (even the Num Lock)) required holding down the FN key to use. I'm sure that this can be changed in the BIOS but it's a weird choice for a modern machine. I can't remember the last time I actually had to hit "F7". The other downside to the keyboard was the 10-digit number pad. The 0 is cut to standard-size to make room for the arrow keys. Most keypads have a double-wide 0 to make hitting it easier. With the Asus it was difficult to keep my thumb on it while using the other numbers. Again, though, I probably would have gotten used to the keyboard. The final straw that made me decide to return the laptop to Best Buy was the screen. It was awful. I tried streaming a movie and just couldn't take it. There is a lot of bleed, which makes the blacks look like a charcoal grey and the viewing angle could be measured with a micrometer. I actually could not find a viewing angle that did not leave at least part of the screen distorted. I tried to adjust the settings, but I had no success. Between the sluggish speeds, the keyboard quirks, and the screen, I think there are much better options available for the money.

you pay for what you get
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.its a nice simple gaming computer, the battery life while gaming is horrible. the graphics are alright but if you add couple bucks more you can get much better quality.

Awesome graphics & speed!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son does 3D imaging for websites & needed to be mobile so a desktop was NOT an option! Loves this computer! It's processing speed is so fast, our internet couldn't handle it! Had to finally upgrade the modem as well!

Great laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop, when looking for a gaming one, is fairly cheap. Especially if you look at the graphics card: the GTX 970M. Most of the other computers I checked had, at most, a GTX 940M, which is almost half as powerful.

Price too high for this mid range laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought at the price this laptop was going to have a ssd drive at least for the OS, shame on me for not looking closely at the details . Also the pictures only don't really show you how tacky the bright orange is ... The screen is very low quality and dull, the viewing angles are mediocre and the general feel is very plastic. If you like slow booting laptops with bad quality screens and a cheap plastic feel to it .. this is the laptop for you.

Powerful Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for a pen testing lab. I needed the i7 processor and large hard drive space. It could just more memory and I will add that. So far I have several VMs up and running with no issues.
