This was my first gaming laptop and I just have to say, WOW! This thing is absolutely awesome. I use it to play my game library on Steam including Skyrim, Dead Island, Tomb Raider, etc. Settings on high, the games are absolutely gorgeous and run perfectly. Glad I bought this as an upgrade from my old HP.

This laptop has met all of my expectations. I’m currently an engineering student and this laptop is powerful enough to run all of my software for school! When I get burnt out on homework, I can fire up a game and this laptop chews right through it! If you can get it open box, don’t pass up on it!

    Beautiful 1080p Beast

I suggested this Laptop to my Brother who is in the navy. And boy, does he love this laptop! Almost Any game he wants to play can be played at 1080p on High settings at 60 FPS. The i7 really pushes out the CPU power for Multi-Tasking and Video/Photo-Editing Applications, while the GTX 970M gives a great gaming experience at 1080p If anybody is wondering, "Is this is good option over a laptop with the 1050 ti?" This 970M will do just fine in most games, as long as you don't max out every single setting. 1080p high settings can be achieved on the most demanding games today (Rise of the Tomb Raider, Battlefield 1, Civ 5, etc.) while absolutely cruising through many E-Sports titles (CS:GO, Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, League of Legends, Overwatch, etc.). Yes, there is only 3GB of Video Memory, but as long as you throw too much mods or heavy texture packs at this GPU, you won't exceed 3GB of Video Memory usage. Overall, my Brother loves his ASUS GL502VT, and anyone considering this item should love this Laptop as well!

This is a fine gaming unit. This particular model has 12 GB RAM and the graphics is 3 GB. It plays the games flawlessly. Also, GeForce updates the drivers with optimized settings for particular games. What else can I say? Works well, software support is fine. It might get a bit noisy when playing some big games at full graphics settings. That's because the copper cooling system has separate fans for CPU and GPU.

I boguht this before a CTF event because I waited too long to order something online. I like that Best Buy still carries high-performance PCs. The day they stop doing that is the day I stop shopping there. Anyway, this machine is good quality because it's an ASUS. The only problem is that they marketed this as a gaming machine but the ones best buy is selling come with only 12GB RAM and 1 hard drive that's not even an SSD which is getting pretty much standard these days. The video card was also not the latest geforce available, but still better than other laptops at the store. In the end I had to buy a 16GB stick of RAM and a samsung 950 SSD to get the performance to my liking which cost me another $300 or so. Just be aware of the limitations of the best buy version. Still for the price the package is pretty good, I really like the look/feel of the machine and ASUS stuff in general.

    The Unfortunate Screen

I read a ton of reviews that said the screen was washed. Given that the system had a great price with great specs, I did not want to believe the reviews. I checked out the demo and hesitantly brought the system home. I never took the laptop out of the box and decided to return it as I could not get over my experience with the demo in store. The screen is definitely washed out with really bad viewing angles. Even at the "perfect" angle, the colors are not as vibrant. As the laptop screen would be stared at for hours and is what truly show cases games visually, the poor quality of it does not live up to the overall price. There are cheaper options out there with lower specs (e.g. 960m) that have IPS screens (on paper).

This is my first Windows machine since my last one died 10 years ago. Great craftmanship went into this device in regards to ventilation, the hotspot is just below the display, far out of reach of your palm rest and keyboard. I am getting about 5 hours on battery with light internet use and checking email. Easily upgradable with, in fact, it even has an open SSD expansion bay. I have tried out Arma 3, GTA 5, and Dying Light, and everything runs flawlessly. It is a matte display, and I was skeptical at first, but it is an amazing screen. Windows 10 does make it a bit difficult when it comes to 1080p screens and app scaling, but you just have to play around with the settings to get everything crystal clear. I would recommend this laptop to anyone.

This laptop is great for I've rall use and for gaming! I got it open box, but haven't had a single problem. 12GB of ram are great for this model especially since nothing I do is that intensive. But it makes everything else run that much smoother!

This baby has 12 GB of Memory and runs with Intel Core I7. I got this because it was a steal! I have been looking for a good deal and when I saw this $1200 machine for as an open box buy for $750! It is worth every penny and it is light! Great for traveling.

I absolutely love this laptop. It's super fast and runs smooth. The designs are a bit much, but hey, who cares if it runs right. The only complaint I have is it runs hot if seriously gaming. But nothing a fan doesn't fix. Would definitely recommend!!

I bought this laptop for the price and features it has. I know it is not top of the line and for a few extra pennies I could have gotten something little better. But overall I am very happy with it and it performs well with work I have to do and for the gaming I occasionally due. Plus there is room for improvement if I find it necessary later on.

I m not gamer or specialist but I heard this type of computers loaded with best.I bought in open box conditions.I think was better buy than something brand new but has not enough functionality on same price range.Screen resolution is good and it has solid frame.I replaced hard drive with Samsung EVO 850 250gb and cost $100, speed turn to crazy faster. What a difference on speed better than my home use Mac Pro. Cons is only battery life but not a big problem to keep plug in.I wish to say more on tech side but sorry this how much I know about computers.By the way open box price was $650 plus tax.I think I had a good deal for this type of great machine which better than brand new but made out of cheap plastic and old systems computers and almost same price

I have been a fan over ASUS's line of laptops. My previous model had lasted me a solid 2 years, but started having problems with speed. This is beast of a laptop. It will play any new game in high or ultra settings with no problems. Only thing I have noticed with this laptop is that I have several programs that automatically start as soon as computer powers on. This seems to take a while for the programs to load, and I sometimes have to wait before I can start what I wanted to do on the laptop. All you need to do though is shutoff the automatic startups.

The size of this laptop was the reason for buying it. Still had plenty of power to game on and was also portable. Hope to get another 5 years out of this ROG.

I picked up this laptop on a four hour flash sale for about $850. This was a huge upgrade for me, and I get a ton better FPS on WoW now. Everything runs really smooth and the laptop itself is really light.

Came into the store looking for a $60 Xbox One game, left with a $1,200 Asus laptop. Apparently, there are these 3 day sales in store Thursday-Saturday. The Asus - ROG GL502VT 15.6 Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 12GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Black was the featured item for $899.99, originally $1,199,99. I signed up for the My Best Buy card to get an additional $20 off and $110 in My Best Buy Rewards. I am a novice to all things tech, but I feel very confident about my investment in this laptop. Currently waiting for my first PC game (Rocksmith 2014 Remastered Edition) to arrive in the mail. I would not have even noticed the great deal, if it hadn't been for the superb in-store customer service from Brandon

It was hard to find and I had to travel a bit to get to a store that had one in stock. It's a good price considering the video card. I wish it had a 16gb ram option (It looks like it is a 4gb stick + 8gb stick ram setup) but upgrading isn't too difficult or expensive. I can't speak to much to the performance on newer and more graphically intense games yet. So far the performance on some older games has been good. The system runs pretty quiet, stays pretty cool, and looks easy to clean the dust out of. A couple of downsides:1) The short shift key gets some getting used to. 2)A little less than 3 hour battery life with general use. 3) I like the orange but some people might not be fans of the color
