I bought this laptop because I missed pc gaming. One of the first games I downloaded was Apex legends. The game ran smoothly and I had no issues with frame rates or over hearing from the laptop.

This laptop looks and feels nice. However the actual audio/visual experience of playing games is compromised on it. The screen is too dim for a laptop of this price range. It has decent color accuracy but details are often washed out and the dimness makes glare very annoying. It also only comes with single channel memory, so it doesn’t perform as well as it should unless you spend $100 on another 16GB DIMM and open up the laptop yourself to install it. This would be great at $999, or at its current price if it had a better screen and dual channel RAM.

This is my first gaming computer and I love it. Asus you have a returning customer. Fast computer I can play my games at ultra graphics and get 60fps or more. For the price is truly a great computer.

This is my 2nd ASUS laptop and is way better than my previous laptop. It boots very quick and I have had no issues with it at all. The graphics are wonderful and the display has great resolution.

1st out of the box experience, was nervous! Great product, like the light keys; only wished it had an dvd/cd player; that will be the next product I purchase!

This machine functions above expectation. It is sleek lightweight and easy to travel with. Quality of the hardware combined with the software capabilities makes this laptop top in it's class.

its updated, no modifications, added world of warcraft and microsoft software development tools. the bad: 1. shuts off after a couple of hours if playing games with the top closed (presuming overheating), the area near the hdd/power lights is extremely hot to the touch! 2. in the bios you have an option to put the fan on silent/quiet, otherwise it is LOUD. I think this option in combo of playing video games on hdmi with the top shut caused the overheating. this is a horrible design flaw! 3. the space between the keys has bubbled up and now are flat/level with the keys. Keyboard keys was above laptop, now is flush with the laptop. The area of the laptop that the keys pushes thru are glued and presuming the glue melted from the heat (1.), and now the keys in center of the keyboard are flush/flat with surface . i.e. 4. the plug is on an extremely annoying left hand side, this is different from my two other ROGs models I've had over the past 10 years. Been a year, still not used to it. the good: all else works, bluetooth, usb 3, hdmi, mic port, all nice features, extremely fast response times. the lit keyboard is really nice.

Out of all the laptops I've owned over the years, this one is by far the fastest and smoothest laptop I've owned. So far I have had no problems and works great with everything I use it for!

My very first gaming laptop and i must say it is the best thing ive ever purchased. It is as fast as my wife's desktop. Very good speed on the video card, will play every game i throw at it.

The Asus GU501GM is the best laptop in its class and price range. The build quality in my opinion is great. It has a minimal gaming laptop look thats sleek and does not scream out GAMING laptop, lol. It has a brushed metal look with a ROG logo on top.The keyboard is quite nice and from what I've experienced there is no flex when typing or gaming. Keys have a nice travel distance when pressed and feels good.The keyboard is also backlit RGB, which you can customize to your liking. The keyboard is also surrounded by a nice bronzed metallic trim which looks classy. Speakers a quite adequate when gaming or watching movies, but if you're a serious gamer you'll probably own a good set of gaming headphones to play games. Press the power button and boot up is almost instant, just a couple of seconds. I like the dedicated ROG gaming center button which lets you access system information like CPU & GPU temperatures, hard drive space, memory usage etc. Spec wise the Asus GU501GM has a full HD 1920x1080 15.6 inch screen that is 120mhz. Includes a 1T HDD and 128GB SSD. It also comes with 16GB of Ram that you can upgrade to 32GB. It has an 8th generation Inte Core I7-8750H processor and a NVIDIA GeForce 1060 graphics card that is 6GB. You have 4 3.0 USB ports, HDMI port, headphone and 1 thunderbolt port. I've been playing Fortnite and PUBG most recently on this laptop on the highest settings without any issues, it plays buttery smooth! I've also played GoW and that play great on high settings also without a problem. I think with this new laptop I will definitely be doing more gaming. I also forgot to mention Asus also include a nice keychain lanyard in the box with some stickers. Overall this laptop is a good value for the price with the specs it comes with that I would recommend for anyone looking for their next gaming laptop.

Needed it for college, and general browsing. Two years later it is still going strong. Played many hours of a MMORPG and a WWII flight simulator. After about a year in and out of my backpack, a plastic cover over the hinge broke off, and one of the fans occasionally hits the case. These are most likely self induced. The computer is now lives on a desk and mostly runs Cura. I didn't give it five stars because of the loud sound bite that plays every time it restarts. It can't be turned off, and it ignores the volume controls. This is very annoying at 3am after an automatic update.

So i purchased this computer that was the only i the area in 50 miles radius and happened to be open box. Nothing missing even manuals were present just not original box. When i went for computer descriptions says comes with COD4 as part of the purchase. On the bestbuy website game is $0 a d can't download. I went through the official provider in this case asus and they are telling me is not the original unit that got me worried. When i registered the computer everything went perfect and still no Game as part of the description. Is not about the game is the customer service reps from Bestbuy had no clue what they are doing. So spend decent amount of money and still no game.

I wanted something with power and that was pretty light. This system for the bill great deal on sale and with a few tweaks and setting changes will run over some higher priced systems

I love this computer I use it it for my work and gaming it is fast as a whip and has cool customization options. It is worth every penny!

I purchased this laptop as an alternative to an apple to use with DJ software. I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. No issues at all. OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!

This computer has worked great for fusion 360. The price point compared to the performance and quality is unmatched. Definetley recommends for computer design programs

I am very happy with this laptop. I’ve never had an gaming laptop before because i usually play on my gaming desktop, so when i got this i was impressed because the performance is good.

Have been looking for a laptop that could run my vr as my desktop is to bulky to take to around places. With the nvidia 1060 It will be able to fulfill all your gaming needs.

I have had this computer for maybe a month or so and all I could say is absolute perfection. I knew I was gonna get my money worth but this took it to a whole other level.

I got this for on the go gaming. Mostly play wow . This pc runs like a champ. I can't say for more demanding games but wow plays fine also use it for some video work . No issues
