Overall excellent gaming laptop for the price. Very fast and capable. It’s a little large but that’s acceptable for a gaming computer.

The performance on this PC is amazing. For anyone who wants to get into PC gaming or wants a really nice laptop this is the one to get.

I bought the ROG GU501GM and the GTX 1060 is very capable of running programs such as games and editing program. The intro boot-up with the logo is neat. However, the sound from it can be loud but the sound can be turn off in the BIOS mode. On the first day and later that afternoon after transferring my files from my older laptop into the 1TB Hybrid Drive through a Ethernet USB adapter, it went smoothly with no error. Afterwards, I used the the update feature that is provided in Windows 10 and also update single components in device managers that would need a driver update if there are any. There were also no error along the way as well. Couples hours later of using the ROG GU501GM, the 1TB Hybrid Drive started disappearing in the file explorer. I rebooted the laptop about two times to see if the 1TB Hybrid Drive will show up again and it didn't. I end up going to BIOS mode and configure around to see if made any difference and it did for a while. The HDD or 1TB Hybrid Drive show up after the next reboot. But unfortunately, it disappears again after one or two hours of use. And this starts to happen if I was to run a program, transfer files, or alter files/folders in the 1TB Hybrid Drive and etc. As a result I end up return the ROG GU501GM back to the nearby BestBuy Store. I spoke about the situation that occurred with the 1TB Hybrid Drive, and one of the staff believes its likely an defective HDD. I totally somewhat agreed with him, but something tells me the HDD is unable to handle the amount of task when files are transferring over, files/folder being alter, running programs from within and etc.

This is an excellent computer overall with only one problem. If your charger goes bad and you have service plan with BestBuy just take it back to best buy and exchange the whole computer. Its easier than trying to get a new charger. ASUS has you special order a different charger than the 180w that comes with it because they are not available for the NA market. that's why if you take this to bestbuy to get a new charger they will say they don't have one. and they aren't going to be able to get one either.

This computer has been giving me problems exactly a month after I bought it which is so ironic cause then I could no longer return it to Best Buy!! The audio driver is faulty and stops working randomly. The battery lasts about 20 minutes! The mouse pad randomly glitches and presses random buttons. The venting is faulty and does not cool down correctly, and the whole system gets so hot while gaming that you can barely touch the keys. I only bought this 6 months ago! The fans are dying and making loud noises and wont shut down the right way. When you plug in/unplug the charger the whole screen goes black for 3 seconds. Which seems like its not a big deal but it gets annoying when gaming. The list goes on and on. Oh and by the way Asus will just tell you to go to Best Buy's geek squad; which will charge you an arm and a leg. Not worth it!!!!

This laptop is one of the best great screen and the performance is awesome. The boot drive is a little small

I bought this about a month ago. It runs games perfectly at high settings. I absolutely love it.

Runs fortnite very well, fans are awfully loud but it is a gaming laptop afterall.

I needed a new laptop because I just got a job where I will be working from a variety of locations, but also wanted something that I would enjoy using at home. I'm gamer, photographer and artist and of all the options, this laptop had the best specs. It's not touchscreen with a bunch of bells and whistles, but it is a darn good computer that will last me for years in whatever I do.

This computer suits all my needs and runs the games I want to run flawlessly.

All I can say is this gaming laptop is awesome. I play all day no problem
