I bought this laptop primarily for gaming. I’ve played a few of the newest games on max settings and they all run flawless. The computer boots up in about 5 seconds and the screen is so crisp it looks like a hdtv. I’m extremely happy with the laptop. Only down side is the fans are super loud.

I love this laptop and I bought this with my Best Buy credit card and chose to pay over 12 months for it. Not only did I save lots of money but I love how fast and responsive it is for my tech classes I'm taking. Great for multitasking and the graphics are amazing. Highly recommend this product.

We were looking for a computer that would be perfect for him to process astronomy pictures from his telescope as well as programs for his high school classes. He loves it and is much faster then our existing computer. We did buy a cooling board for it due to it heating up.

Previously owned an Asus Q551LN. I was extremely happy with my previous ASUS product, gave it to my son for school. I was now tasked to find myself a new toy. So, I searched high and low for a new laptop, After exhaustive research, I got the ASUS - ROG GU501GM. Boy am I glad I ended up with this. Again I'm impressed with ASUS's quality. This laptop rocks! Super fast boot times. I read some reviews where people said this is loud...no way, even when fans on full throttle when gaming...it's not loud. It doesn't run hot at all. Considering the power of this thing, the battery life is good. This thing chews up some serious games without hesitation. Laptops have sure come a long way. The keyboard is nicely laid out with great key travel. Totally easy to type on. The track pad is like butter....and I mean butter. I also do webdesign and data analytics. No sweat. I'm an engineer that's not easily impressed. I'm impressed with this machine. Another great transaction with Best Buy. Thanks!

This is the first gaming laptop I've owned so I'm no expert. That being said I really like this computer. I play the Total War games on Steam and it runs the newest ones on the highest settings. Anything bigger than that I can't really speak to. The fan does get a bit loud.

Did a lot if research before buying looked at powerpc and many others but for the price I'm very happy runs destiny 2 no problems 120 fps cod 4 also runs great awesome keyboard and rgb options only down side gets a very hot after extensive gaming sessions

I owned a MSI GS63 Stealth Pro, and honesty the ASUS GU501GM feels a lot more functional and powerful. The build feels a lot more sturdy and the fan is not as loud as the MSI, so this laptop has a lot of qualities that I feel is a lot better than MSI.

I've previously had only desktop PC's as they always seemed more powerful but decided to try a laptop. Glad I did. I am impressed with the speed and ease of setup. Running games on ultra and after several hours of play, no issues with overheating.

I bought this to replace the large and heavy laptop I've had for a couple of years. I wanted something lighter and smaller for better portability. I thought I would have to sacrifice performance. Wrong. This outperforms my previous laptop by quite a bit.

Bought this for school. I needed something that was slim enough that I could haul around all day and was able to play some minor games like overwatch. Only downside about this laptop battery life is kind of poor. Other than that I can’t complain.

I'm a novice gamer, but I still enjoy having a good quality machine to play my games on. I use this one for playing Destiny online and I can tell you, it rocks! I get the best graphics at a high speed. No jerking of the images, no buffering! I love it!

I just got this laptop today, so i'll consider updating it as I use it more but the first thing that pops out to me that I don't care so much about this laptop is the sound. It doesn't get as loud as I would think a laptop could, my 8 year old laptop gets 100x louder than this. Also, there is a vibrating noise that occurs depending on what I am watching/listening to.

Had to replace my old gaming laptop. This one met my expectation and then some. Can push any current game and doesn't over-heat as bad as some laptops if you are just putting it in your lap. Worth the money and the SSD is nice as always.

The customization options on this laptop alone are reason enough to buy it but the sheer speed and overall performance is great along with the aluminum covering, magnetic seal, Just everything about this laptop screams awesome.

The bundled AC Adapter will not power this laptop adequately when gaming. The issue you will run into is during moments when the fans are blowing hard and you are pushing this laptop with flagship games like Battlefield the moment you get done gaming the laptop will not be at full charge. Depending on how long you play will change how much power you lose but when tested after I noticed it there was 8% - 12% of battery life loss per 45 minutes. After 2 hours I lost 35% in one instance and decided to look into it. That’s when I started reading up about the proprietary 6mm jack and how Asus in one instance actually mentioned to buy a higher output power supply, which they do have but not for this laptop. There are reports that with the 230w or 240w unit (as I recall) the laptop operates just fine. While I would have considered it the cost of this AC Adapter is roughly another $250 and had it been maybe $30 I would have considered it. This is a good laptop but ASUS messed up by pairing this with an inadequate power supply unit. As far as the power settings, I tested them all and if you set this laptop to low power settings in windows and the ASUS quick fan mode to any of the 3 settings (silent, balanced, overboost) there is still power loss. You simply cannot get 100% out of this laptop due to an underpowered AC Adapter without losing power as you game. The true issue though is that over time your components will experience issues with trying to grab power which isn’t available meanwhile your power adapter will be guaranteed to be slammed. That power supply will eventually fail just like a motor can’t handle perpetual full throttle whenever you drive it. There are reports of that as well when I read up on it. While this laptop is a great deal and design for the spec buildout on paper, the cold hard truth is it has issues and does not operate/function as it should and is therefore defective in this regard. I do not have other higher output rated ac adapters (or any) to test out the laptop with so I cannot guarantee that the laptop itself may not have issues regardless but with the way this laptop runs, it is not sustainable nor how any product should operate. The compounded issue is I bought this laptop for traveling and due to the compounded issue of an untrustworthy power setup within the laptop and ac Adapter the battery is at risk for being damaged over time operating like this and I am concerned it may burst while in flight. There are probably other games like Minecraft or League of Legends which are not as graphic intensive that won’t drain the battery while gaming but I don’t play those games. I play Battlefield and this laptop doesn’t handle it. Again, make sure you do your research on this one but I recommend forgetting about it and looking elsewhere.

Bought this computer to edit photos and some gaming ( combat mission series mostly). The SSD drive is quick, though there's not much room at 128GB. But everything runs smoothly and the graphics are great.

Purchased this laptop as an option to play my video game (Battlefield 4) instead of using the larger desktop home computer. This is lightweight and I receive many comments on the lighted keyboard that changes color!

This laptop truly has wowed me. Initially I was hesitant buying a gaming laptop, but I needed a computer with a fairly decent gpu for my coding projects and this one caught my eye. In the least amount of words all I can really say is : I'm very much not disappointed. This computer hands everything I throw at it and more, and when it comes to normal activities it is even more absurdly good. Take this for instance, I watched an episode of Game of Thrones in full HD whilst side by side playing Fortnite and I truly experienced no lag whatsoever. My mind is blown truly and thoroughly.

Powerful laptop with great appearance. looks slick and and has a nice speedy OS drive. graphics are sharp and clear. A little heavy, but that is to be expected with this type of gaming pc.

Amazing speed. Load time to start screen before I can grab my drink. Effortless streaming of demanding graphics. You won’t be disappointed for the price
