Big fan of ASUS ROG laptops in general as I had 4 over the years, but to be honest the mobile RTX 2060 barely has better gaming performance over the GTX 1060 from a framerate perspective, so overall I don't feel it is worth getting a gaming laptop when for the same price you can get a desktop with a 2070 SUPER that outperforms it by a long shot. Maybe the 2080-MAXQ or 2070-SUPER would be better for laptop, but wasn't overly impressed enough with the 2060. THe 1TB SSD was fast though and the 16GB RAM was good, just not enough gaming performance for my son.

This laptop is way nice! However, the few downfalls would be that the fans are loud(headphones help block) but this machine it gets HOT really fast. I played CS:GO for 20 minutes and my left hand was actually burning... not exaggerating when I say my hand was RED. I would buy a separate keyboard but the fact I can game for hours... The laptop would burn a hole in itself. If you’re a gamer who games for hours, don’t buy this laptop spend the extra money on a desktop -.-

I love every inch of this laptop. It can play all AAA games without framedrop (if you plug your adapter) but it runs pretty hot when gaming. Overall it's good.

Starting my first year of college I spent a good couple months looking around the internet and local retailers looking for something a laptop that would be able to play games, run CAD programs, and not break my bank. This laptop stood out immediately because it was only $1,500 on clearance with great specs. In this first month of school I've been able to run everything program I need with multiple open at once and play any game I want in my free time. All in all this laptop was everything I needed at a great price.

Excellent laptop for my light gaming needs, with plans to expand my gaming library in the near future. This beauty can run almost any popular game on the market today, according to CanIRunIt.com. I've read reviews complaining about the fans being loud but I have not ran into that problem. My only 2 complaints would be not having the extra numeric key pad built in on the side of the keyboard and low battery life. That last one is to be expected with this type of computer, but only 4 hours is still kind of short. For this being my first gaming laptop, I'm impressed and pretty satisfied with my purchase.

I know how to take care of my electronics, especially my own laptop. The specs on this thing is amazing, and the laptop is sleek, comfy, the keyboard is amazing and the feature are also cool, this has definitely been worth the sale price.

Fast FPS for gaming Fan can get a bit noisy during long gameplay - but not intrusive. My son loves it. He paired it with an Alienware 27in monitor good price point as well compared to other gaming laptops with similar specs.

Bought for son in April, Secure Boot error bricked it in September. No way into the bios to fix, the admin password is set by ROG and the online tipsters saying to ALT+R to bypass for repair mode won't work on this unit (Alt+r types an R in the password box, does not call up repair options). Originally bought to replace an MSI Stealth that worked so well the WASD keys were nubbed off with use. ROGs are soo sexy and soo pushed at the store BUT I should have remembered the bulged battery that nearly ending in explosion on my older super-cool-super-expensive flip-bottom Zephyrus (that now runs as a "kitchen dumb box" without a battery at all, which is actually no great loss since the battery life was 42 minutes out of the original box). Son needed 'puter for MAYA and Unity dev work so back to Best Buy for an MSI Stealth... and NO PROBLEMS at all, all school year and after school gaming-time long. ROGs are pretty, very very sexy but, in my small sample of 2 higher end gaming level units being 100% failure, the bottom line is they do NOT amortize well.

I bought this Laptop, cause i wanted a unit that could play newer titles and not have to worry about bringing my tower with me. I was super impressed with the laptop, General use at the moment is Overwatch and FFXIV. Playes what i bought it for at great detail. Battery life is not so great on the unit you have to have it plugged in if your gaming, but that's the usual for a gaming laptop. The intergration with the lights was a nice touch that i didnt know i wanted. Great unit.

I’m not a gamer but I use laptops to edit video and photos. This isn’t the most powerful laptop but it is priced nicely at $1800. The playback in Premiere Pro is clean. You just need to elevate your laptop and keep the bottom exposed so the fans can do a better job of cooling the processors. If you lay it flat it will overheat a lot faster and will slow your playback quite significantly. Overall a beast of a machine.

this laptop is almost perfect in every way but gets way to hot way too fast highest temp i got was 92c playing miscreated. but constantly see temps in the 80s (celsius) even when playing older non demanding games like WoW or warcraft 3 reforged. on demanding games like arma 3 easily can get up to 88c. but everything other than the thermals are really great if this could just cool itself coreectly it could be a perfect laptop. So Overall i love it but the thermals are making me wanna return it

This is a beautiful computer with nice graphics but it gets HOT! It’s hard to use the laptop when it gets hot and it’s uncomfortable. I started having to plug in my monitor and key board to use it! But other than that it’s solid!

Clean, sleek, lightweight, metal body, beautiful light up keyboard. Handles just about anything you throw out it. Fan gets loud and would recommend separate pad or just allowing for space on bottom of laptop. Besides that very happy.

Laptop with FPS drop in Online and Offline games

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Good evening. I bought this notebook in October last year at Bestbuy in Orlando FL, and it has been 2 months since I have a problem when I play. The fps is oscillating and falling a lot, and I believe that due to his configuration, this type of problem was not to be had. The drop in FPS occurs in online and offline games. What can it be?? I need guidance as ASUS Brazil does not offer support for this model because it was not released in Brazil and does not have spare parts. I am feeling hurt, because I bought this model trusting the quality of the brand. I await a return. Thanks!

      Dear Valued Customer,

Certainly, we understand your disappointment with the FPS dropping. This can be normal as video fps drops because the scene has changed and it takes CPU/GPU processor to calculate the distant landscape, but in a few seconds the fps returns to normal. If this is not the case, are you currently running the games on the dedicated GPU? Feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] and provide this link for reference. I'm here to help you and all others with these issues, as our customer loyalty department dedicated to bringing a resolution to all issues related to our products.

We bought this computer for my daughter's college class. It has all of the features that are needed for her to be successful. There were a couple of items which don't function great. 1. It looses battery life quickly. We have Mac's which don't lose charge as quickly. 2. The sound goes out randomly. This is odd but it does when watching Netflix. Other than these items the computer functions well.
