All good, just didn’t like the shape of the sceeen
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice laptop, and mine did not have the wining noise as they are saying in the reviews. I guess all depends of the batch. Everything was good, I just didn’t like the 18” (16:10). The screen look square, it reminds me of my old old monitor lol I’m already used to rectangle screens, can’t handle square one lol Also game that I play doesn’t support 16:10.

Great buy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing laptop the power and speed is top of the line allowing my to play multiple game titles on ultra settings. The 18” screen is perfect size for heavy gaming sessions The fan runs loud when on high performance settings but this is just something can’t avoid when running 4080 in a laptop. I would have to say the best performance vs price for a 18” screen also

Mid
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop is overpriced for the performance it delivers especially when it can be beat by an older gen computer. I returned this due to the space bar not registereing when regularly typing. I had to pres hard or at a certain position for it to work well.

Great Specs. Delivers. “Mobile” Desktop?”
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to start by just saying this thing is hands down the most powerful laptop I have ever used. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but to keep it short, I was very impressed by how well-specd this machine was and how it performed. I really like the design and look that Asus went with here. Clearly, it has a “gamer” look to it, but not overly so, and it is mostly done in a tasteful way. I know some may want more, but I like the more subdued (plain) approach. As for the build, just solid. It feels good in the hand, and there is some weight to it. That said, YES, it does have some weight, but to be honest, I was expecting more. Is it an ultralight? NO, it is a gaming machine, but I think they did a very good job distributing that weight (it’s balanced) and making the machine rather thin. For what it is, I think very thin. The screen is big, there is some weight, and the power brick is…large, but you can take it with you. Not quite as easy as tossing it in a bag and going, but that is not really why you buy this machine. The display is one reason you buy this machine, and I came away very pleased. Big. It is big. Beyond that though, it is good. Very good. Fast refresh. QHD, so no 4K, which some may want, but I think it works here. Admittedly, it is not the brightest panel, but colors are bright, vivid, seemingly quite accurate, and everything just runs very smoothly. As for performance, I don’t think I could be much happier. More or less, it comes with best-in-class hardware. A top Intel chip, a top Nvidia GPU, Gen 4 SSD, and 16GB of DDR5 4800 RAM, etc. Gaming, well, it rips. Obviously, it is game dependent, settings dependent, etc. but running nearly everything near or flat out maxed out, my FPS were 144 or higher (mostly a bit higher) across the board. To this point, there really has been no stuttering, tearing, anything. Coming from an “older” desktop, this is something I really wasn’t expecting, even knowing what the laptop was running. Beyond gaming, I do some photo/video editing, and a whole bunch of “life stuff” on my machines, and here it is more of the same. I am just very impressed with the power of the machine. Beyond the internals, they also did a solid job with connectivity. There is a nice selection of ports that hits most, if not all, that people will be looking for. The speakers are quite good. Loud, and good sound (more on that later). The keyboard somewhat surprised me. In a good way. I like the spacing, it is solid (no real flex), and has a nice feel. I was initially worried everything would be tight, but that has not been the case, and, while I am probably alone on this, I love the addition of the number pad. Helps with the “life stuff.” It’s a nice add. As I mentioned above, I like plain a lot, so as you can imagine, the RGB aspect of the keyboard is not really my thing, but they really give you some nice lighting options/control. It is done very, very well, and honestly, it looks great. They may win me over lol (you can also just turn it off). As for the trackpad, it is good. Not the largest, kind of standard, and it is offset to hit the middle of the keyboard minus the number pad. Again, seems standard. Not the best, but certainly not an issue. There are many things that I like about this laptop, but that does not mean I do not have a few nitpicks. One, and this is definitely a nitpick, I just do not really like the webcam. I do not like how it is not flush with the screen. Seems an odd design choice. Beyond that, 720p, which is just what manufacturers seem to do. I simply do not understand this move. Two, when you are pushing the machine, the fans do get humming. Again, this is understood, given the power of the machine, but depending, a move to headphones is sometimes a better choice. Seemingly, they do a great job of cooling, so that is preferred, and you do get a nice degree of control here, but maybe this is just me not being familiar with such a laptop. Three, the power brick is quite big, and it seems to get quite hot. Again, this is just the nature of the beast, I guess, but something to note. Lastly, I think, is just giving 1TB of storage. I understand this machine is very, very competitively priced, given the hardware, and the market, but I personally would just love to see a bump to 2TB. Ultimately, I really like this laptop, and I think most looking for a highly spec’d machine would be happy with this choice. When you look across the market, there is real value here.

May be the worst laptop I have owned in 30 years
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I buy a new gaming laptop about every 1.5yrs and have done so for about the last 30 years. This may be the worst laptop I have owned to date. On paper it has everything you would want. But after using it for the last 8 months or so, I've come to hate it. It overheats CONSTANTLY. I've tried everything possible minus new thermal paste for the CPU/GPU. Bare bones installs with only the latest reference drivers. A combo of reference and ASUS drivers. Called support and they told me that ONLY the nvidia drivers they provide will work. So now I'm running with only ASUS drivers but it still overheats and shuts down. I also bought the best cooling pad and set that on top of a latop pad for extra airflow. I can't play cyperpunk at all. I noticed it first with this game. I thought it was a strange Raytracing bug with cyberpunk because it never really happened in other games so I just chalked it up to that game. But as I played more games, more started to cause the overheat problem. Latest game is Eiyuden Chronicles. I can't get past the intro cut scene. BDO crashes occasionally. Star Trek Online...believe it or not can cause overheating. The only game that seems to run fine is ESO. So basically 1 out of the 6 main games I play works as designed. To get the others to work, I spend tons of time tweaking the refresh, fullscreen, windowed, ray tracking on/off, DLSS on/off...you name it. Never been so frustrated with a laptop in my life.

ASUS is legit
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is easily the best computer based on specs and price. The graphics when pkaying games with the 4080 chip is unbelievable. Why soend thoisands of dollars more for an alien logo or a very sharp gaming laptop. I wont bore you with soecs this and that. David 2D said this is the best gaming laptop of 2023 and the best out there today. I couldn’t agree more.

Good with some issues.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Build quality is okay. Mostly plastic but solid. Laptop deck could use a more premium finish. Coil whine is always an issue with Asus. Screen has some IPS glow but is okay in a dark room. No windows hello.
