This model looks great, performs great, and has one of the best displays and speakers I have ever seen/heard. BUT when under load the fans are loud, and the temperatures are the highest I have experienced on any laptop, EVER. Despite having 3 fans, the chassis is too small to properly dissipate the TGP which ASUS is pushing to the CPU and GPU. The part of the keyboard deck near the volume control buttons becomes almost SCALDING to the touch when under load. Furthermore, since the heat is expelled through the vent, it causes heat expansion on the hinges. When under extended use, the hinges creak until the temperature is reduced. This brings durability of the product under question. The hinge is definitely not as sturdy when compared to competitors, like the Apple Macbook Pro 14. RAM on this model is pretty limited to 16 GB. For a high performance laptop I recommend at least 32 GB. The power brick is huge and it's pretty comical next to the small laptop. But thankfully it can be charged through USB -C when on the go.

This is a great product. It is excellent for gaming on the go. The fan is loud, but that should be no surprise considering the power hungry CPU and GPU. The battery life is good when not playing games, but it pretty much needs power for the performance mode. The speakers are also excellent.

I bought this laptop specifically for video editing on the road. I wanted something ultra portable, similar to a Macbook, but for PC. This laptop is beautiful! Its super thin, but has a sturdy aluminum build. I am running Davinci Resolve video editing software and it runs great. This allows me to do my editing in hotel rooms while I'm on the road. I do carry a plastic laptop pad that allows me to use it in the hotel bed without blocking any of the vents. For fun I installed project cars from my steam library to see how it would run. It runs butter smooth on high graphics settings. The OLED screen is gorgeous as well. I'm so happy with this laptop purchase.

Bought this open box in good condition for $950 without tax. It came with the laptop and charger block but no cord to connect to the outlet. The computer was also logged into the previous owners Microsoft account but that was easily fixed via factory reset. Battery health was already degraded to around 90% when I checked the max capacity vs current capacity. Battery life is around 10 hours on 70% brightness and with energy saver + eco mode on. Build quality is premium with an entire aluminum chassis that is comparable to Apple quality. The OLED screen was super bright and clear. I had to actually lower the max brightness in ArmoryCrate to save my eyes. There is an anti-glare coating but the screen is still glossy. The keyboard was similar or even better than a MacBook Air keyboard. During regular use, the fan noise is silent and during gaming the fan noise is about the same as my full size RTX 3070 in my desktop. Overall, I would recommend this laptop but only if it’s on a sale which BestBuy commonly has for this product in the past.

The model I got is the base model of this laptop that comes with an RTX 4060 with 1Tb SSD. However, even when this is the base model, I have been loving this machine the day I got it. It is powerful enough to run most games at high framerate, and portable enough to bring around every where I go. Asus did a great job with the design aspect because unlike other gaming laptop; I would say that this laptop looks way more formal to bring around without looking like you are a hardcore gamer. I absolutely think that this laptop is worth it for people who constantly use high performance task. However, if you are someone looking to get a laptop with long battery life (like a Macbook) and don’t care too much about battery life. This laptop is not for you as you should be looking at Macbook or the new Intel Lunar Lake laptops. This is not to be used without its power adapter for long period of time.

Overall it's very nice, fast and compact with a great display and speakers. It's drawbacks are that you can't upgrade the ram and it runs hot while gaming, but that is to be expected for a compact machine. To fix 60% of the heat problem, I upgraded the bios, uninstalled Asus armory and installed G-helper in its place, and found a way to disable the boost on the cpu. To do that you have to change a single registry value to 2 to have the option, but it's easy to find a video online of how to do that if you are decent with tech (basically finding the correct one in an embedded menu).

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is a premium, well-rounded gaming laptop with outstanding performance, a breathtaking display, and a sleek design. Whether you’re gaming on the go, working on intensive creative projects, or just looking for a top-tier portable machine, the G14 excels across the board. However, it’s important to note that due to its premium price tag, I’d only recommend purchasing the G14 if it’s heavily discounted. For gamers and professionals who want a high-powered laptop in a compact and portable package, it’s definitely a great option—just make sure you’re getting it at a price that reflects its value.

This laptop is a beast. Yes there are some improvements they can make, like the screen wobble, a higher hz display, battery life, and maybe metter cooling as it gets hot. But besides all that, in my opinion the pros outweigh the cons. If you are looking for a portable gaming laptop that performs as good as it looks, well this laptop is it. Its very portable standing at 14 inches, packs really good components and performance considering its very thin, has nice and sturdy build quality(similar to a mac), has really good speakers (that have actually made me use headphones less), has a 16:10 ratio giving you 1 more inch of display size with 3k resolution, and the best part, the OLED display. The OLED display makes using this laptop very enjoyable. With all that being said I would recommend getting this laptop on sale, which comes around pretty frequently.

A solid, durable laptop matching apple quality. It's fast, light, and easy to take with you wherever you go. The screen is absolutely beautiful, with awesome speakers to match whatever you're playing or watching. Due to its smaller size, if you plan on any heavy gaming, this is not the laptop for you. It's going to get hot and loud (if you know what I mean). Great for indie games and playing AAA games on lower resolutions. For content creators, light to moderate video editing is handled extremely well, and photo editing is off the charts. Pixel peepers rejoice! Overall, I am quite impressed, and if this laptop is on sale, buy it. Buy it now!

Overall, it’s a great choice for gamers seeking power and portability.

I've owned the 2022 model, and it was awesome. This 2024 model is a perfect laptop to me. Oled 120hz. I got this 16gb with a 4060, and I can play Fortnite in full resolution 3k at 120 fps on dlss performance medium settings. Very nice. All games play very well. The keyboard feels nice. Speakers have very nice sounds. Really, everything is great except for one small flaw. RAM is soldered on, so there is nothing expanding for more RAM. 16gb for now is still fine for gaming, and you can close out and stop all other programs to make sure no other programs are stealing your game play RAM. You can upgrade the NVME storage and the WIFI card if ya like. Best Buy has good sales, so keep an eye out for that.

Great laptop which is lightweight, has great battery life, and handles every game I throw at it. Fantastic build quality and a beautiful OLED screen. Also the speakers are the loudest on the market. The best laptop in its class.

Excellent laptop. Came from years as a mac user, but always disappointed at not being able to game with a lot of titles. This is a macbook pro like experience with the ability to game on the side with very few limitations. The fit and finish is gorgeous. Very light. Screen is gorgeous and nice and bright. Battery life is great for a windows laptop if you adjust the settings. The speakers sound as good as a 14 inch Macbook pro. Love the trackpad. Only drawback is they soldered the ram with 16gb so you can't upgrade it. I really would prefer 32gb vs 16gb but Best Buy never has the higher end model in stock so I got the 16gb. I mostly do productivity type work and some gaming so I don't really see it as an issue, but it can be a problem for some.

The ASUS Zephyrus laptop is a great choice for those seeking a powerful and portable machine. It offers a sleek design with a durable build and a high-refresh-rate display, making it ideal for gaming and productivity. The performance is solid, with powerful processors and NVIDIA graphics handling demanding tasks with ease. The keyboard is comfortable for both typing and gaming, while the cooling system keeps temperatures in check, though it can get a bit noisy under heavy use. Battery life is average during intense tasks. Overall, the Zephyrus provides great value for performance in a slim, portable package.

I bought an open box and got this for $900. After a month of use, it has impressed me by the advanced Armor Crate settings that switches between igpu and dgpu to save battery. In addition, the display is amazing. The only things that I dislike are the heat when doing moderate things, and the fan noise. If only the components were an R7 8000s paired with the rtx 4050.

I recently acquired the ROG G14, and I must say, it's been an absolute powerhouse. This laptop truly delivers on its promise of excellent performance, handling everything I've thrown at it with impressive ease. Whether it's demanding games, intensive creative tasks, or everyday multitasking, the G14 consistently performs great, offering a smooth and responsive experience. Its compact form factor combined with its robust capabilities makes it a fantastic choice for users who need portability without compromising on power. The only significant hiccup in my experience wasn't with the laptop itself, but with the purchasing process from Best Buy. I was informed that the unit was an "open box" item, which I was fine with, expecting it to come in its original (albeit opened) packaging. However, upon collection, I was surprised to find that the laptop was handed to me without any box at all. While the device itself appears to be in perfect working order and functions flawlessly, the lack of original packaging for an "open box" item was certainly unexpected and a bit unusual. It didn't affect the laptop's performance, but it was a minor detail that stood out. Despite the packaging anomaly, the ROG G14 itself is a stellar machine that I highly recommend for its exceptional performance.

Works great for running several games on max to near-max settings and is extremely portable and lightweight. Although games run very well you must use it plugged in and with some kind of cooling when running games because the laptop does become extremely hot/dies quickly. Best way is to hook up to a monitor and leave the laptop alone on a cooling pad…while plugged in. For the price I think it’s a good gaming laptop that’s as small as they get, good for everything. The display is gorgeous

I want to take a moment to share some thought I have regarding this Zephyrus G14 that I ultimately returned. First, I am impressed that Asus could fit so much technology and good stuff into a small package, but it comes at a sacrifice that makes it a less than ideal laptop (at least for me). This three items I am about to list might be nits for some, but for me that are deal breakers for a laptop that retails at $1600 (but I got on sale). There are enough reviews out there that expound on how good the display is (yes, it is that good), how good the audio is (yes, amazing), the great keyboard, great trackpad, and the power inside. However, I want to focus on the three things that turned me off on this laptop. First, the USB4 port is not really a fully functional USB4 port. USB4 spec says it should work with a Thunderbolt 3/4 port. However, this laptop (with latest drivers and BIOS) will not connect using to a Thunderbolt dock properly. I checked on Reddit and forums and this is a known issue for the Zephyrus laptops that is not addressed at all. This is not an across the board issue with Asus as the Zenbook S16 and Vivobook S16 (both AMD 370 HX chips) work properly with Thunderbolt docks. So, this can't be used at work correctly for me. Second, the heat. I am able to keep the temps down with the use of GHelper by limiting the TDP and turning off CPU Boost (which is not really needed for day to day work and gaming). (Brief aside: I wish Windows would do a better job of deciding when it really needs to CPU boost as it does it too often and causes power and temp spikes) While using the laptop connected to another USB 3 PD/DP dock, my temps remained in the mid 40's generally, but the rest of the chassis and keyboard just felt warm to the touch. It seems like this model tries to use the entire chassis as a heat sink and that really is not ideal as it is distracting when typing and doing work. It never burned because temps were so low, but it was warm enough to be distracting. I have used other laptops and did not have this issue with them. Finally, the middle fan's high pitched noise. Even though I was below the fan curve settings I had for the fans to kick on, they still had to occasionally to keep the system cool. The fans were effective and never did I get really hot. However, the middle fan's acoustics are annoying and distracting. There is a high pitched sound coming out of it that is noticeable in a quiet environment and just distracts from doing work. So in summary, yes it is a great laptop on paper (if bought on sale) and has lots of potential, but just be aware of how you will use it and what your use case is. I wanted to use this as a travel laptop for work due to size and the fact I could still game at night with it. However, the three items above made it impossible to keep. Perhaps Asus could address this in the USB4 issue in the future with a BIOS/driver update and in the next model of the Zephyrus use a vapor chamber and improve heat dissipation to deal with items two and three. As of this moment, I plan to steer clear of the Zephyrus line until the issues are fixed. Just wanted to share my two cents on this laptop with the general audience.

Dear SMart8711,
Thank you for your comment.
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing issues with this laptop. Regarding the USB 4 port not recongnizing your Thunderbolt Dock. The USB4 port on this laptop supports DisplayPort and power delivery only, Thunderbolt support is not implemented. About your concern on the excessive heat, this is normal that excessive heat is generated while the laptop is under heavy load. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilation is free from obstructions to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. Furthermore, check in the Task Manager for resource-hungry applications, processes and services that are running in the background and disable them if not being used. Running these applications simultaneously will certainly spike the temperature and will cause an auto-reboot, or an auto restart. The heat or temperature does decrease or normalize once system resource utilization goes down. Your concern about the high-pitch noise or coil whine is common with high-performance GPU. It is simply the vibration of the coil in an inductor as the power passes through it. It happens when a lot of power is passing through sensitive electronic components (inductor or capacitor), causing them to rapidly vibrate from the power surge. To decrease or minimize the noise, we recommend reducing the GPU speed or reconfiguring your video or game settings without compromising the video or game display quality.
