Overall great computer It has very advanced specs and I honestly think that it has great tweaking for performance and balanced and productivity but really hoped for a chance to get the right display which is 4k and talso touch screen aslo but as of now nothing on the table :/ but for multi prodcutivity it helps a lot for exmaple you can be discord streaming, while on a google voice call and also have a virtual mchine running and it wouldnt sweat a bit even i wish it had a pen but overall for its performance it really dismisses other cons

Really nice screen, good performance, and works great out of the box. Really disappointed that it only has 16GB of ram with no expandability.

A beast of a machine that I wish was upgradable

PROS Capable of Ultra Settings in gaming (on select games, i.e., Starfield) The OLED screen is excellent (HDR is impressive) The machine's speed is impressive for nearly every task. The sleek look and unique RGB light on the lid will get some eyes. SO SO The fans aren't the quietest (but aren't the loudest I've used) Price is $2,1499 isn't cheap (but whether or not it's worth it to you is subjective) CONS 16GB of RAM that CANNOT be upgraded (for a 2K+ priced machine, this is disappointing) One aspect Asus has going for it is its style, form factor, and build quality. Its sleek chassis, dynamic RGB lighting, and tactile keys all enhance the overall experience. It doesn't matter if you're using it for productivity or entertainment, their laptops are very fun to use. This one is hands down the most powerful laptop I've used, and I've owned a lot of them. It feels every bit worth the asking price as you play around with it. As soon as you unbox it, you'll feel and see the quality that Asus has put into not only the presentation but also the laptop itself. With plenty of ports for all your devices and decent battery life for a gaming laptop, whether you're a professional using it for productivity or, like me, primarily for entertainment, you won't need more than this offers (mostly, but we'll get to that). This machine is thinner and lighter than I anticipated, making it easy not only to move from room to room in the house, but also to slide it into a bag for trips or on the go. The battery life is average for high-performance devices, lasting approximately two hours. Whenever I do play high-demand games, I plug them in anyway, as most do, so I can't complain about the battery life. The first thing I do after setting up is install Steam, along with the games I'm currently playing. This was all simple and quick. After the Windows updates, you'll feel this machine blaze through whatever you need it to. The OLED screen provides beautiful colors, and the 240 Hz refresh rate ensures everything moves smoothly. Combined with the RTX 5070 and DLSS, the performance remains solid without any hiccups. I was able to finish Starfield and set everything to Ultra settings, with a 60fps cap, without any issues. It was a massive upgrade from my previous laptop, which featured an RTX 4070. The fans aren't the quietest, but also not the loudest I've experienced. Headphones are the preferred choice for most tasks when using laptops for this reason. All essential ports, including USB-C and USB-A, are included. You'll have everything that comes standard with most laptop machines. The onboard speakers, surprisingly, are excellent as well. While I prefer headphones when I play, it's nice to know that the speakers don't sound muffled or distorted at all. They're very clean. There is one disappointing aspect that stands out after being impressed by everything else: the memory capacity. This model comes with 16GB of soldered RAM, meaning it cannot be upgraded to 32GB. The issue isn't whether 16GB is sufficient; it's that gaming laptops should be upgradeable, regardless of the model. At over $2,000, 32GB has become the standard. That said, I haven't experienced any performance issues or hiccups, but it still concerns me to know that I cannot upgrade the machine if I wanted to. Although the heat control is excellent at corraling the heat in one area, where it is hot (below the screen and above the keyboard), it's extremely hot. Now, as I mentioned earlier, I played Starfield on Ultra settings and ran it to 80% of its capacity. However, it's worth noting that there's a small area where it does get extremely hot. It never shut down due to overheating, or made my lap feel too hot underneath the machine, so I'm not concerned with the amount of heat, but some may be surprised. This machine is well-suited for your needs, especially if you're a gamer. However, if you're a heavy multitasker using multiple editing programs, like a photographer or video editor, consider looking for a machine that can be upgraded to at least 32GB of RAM. For all other uses, this machine is a winner.

    All Around Great Gaming Machine

This is an all-around great laptop. Not just saying that as a lighthearted description for a normal laptop, I mean, most of everything about this laptop is GREAT. First, I love the design. It’s a thin, aluminum chassis with a modern, almost gunmetal, design. The lid has a strip going diagonal, corner-to-corner that you can customize, but it is limited to just the one color. You can easily take this laptop into a meeting room or throw it on a coffee table at your local shop, and it creates just enough design noise to stand out but not enough to be distracting. The hinge is perfect with the right amount of resistance and the whole thing feels sturdy. It does have some heft to it, but I have no issues toting it around. I/O is great. You have a thunderbolt four port which couples as a USB -C charging port for “normal” charging when not gaming. The left side also has a USB type A, headphone jack, HDMI and the charge port. For the right you get a second USB-C port (non-thunderbolt, sad face) and another USB type A. A full-size SD card reader is also on the right. I don’t think it would have been impossible to squeeze in a ethernet port, but it would have been one of those “expandable” ports, but honestly, the Wi-Fi 7 on this is so fast, you’re getting gigabit ethernet through the air, depending on if your router supports it. I do not usually end up writing much about peripherals, but I have had a pretty great experience with nearly all the things. The camera is fairly decent in good lighting. I actually like the pictures it takes, and I can easily see this as a Teams conferencing laptop when the need calls for it. Low light does okay, it’s acceptable, but not nearly as good as using in a well lit room. I did not use any of the AI features for noise cancellation, so using it outside, I got some of the wind noise. But honestly, I thought the microphones picked up great, audio in my short video was very clear, and I can see anyone using this as a talking head vlog or just conference calling. I would say this is one of the best sounding windows laptops I have used, ever. I understand that is a bold statement and it’s very subjective to the user, but I’m typically not impressed with laptop speakers because it seems like a choice not to have great sound with today’s technology. ASUS was like, “Alright, let’s do great sound.” You’re not going to get any groundbreaking bass or surround sound, but what you will get is clear, loud speakers, that have some depth and color. It’s not revolutionary, but to have a great sounding windows laptop, it’s so refreshing because you know it can be done if it’s engineered that way. This is a thin mobile gaming laptop, it will be limited by thermal capability, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a firecracker for it’s size. You’re getting the 285H which comes in just below a Ryzen 5900 desktop CPU on performance, but will turbo up to 5.4ghz using 45W of TDP maxing out at 115W. This CPU scores well in Speedometer 3.1 and 3Dmark. It’s not going to compete with the chunky desktop replacement laptops with beefy cooling, but I think for it’s size and portability, it falls in that sweet spot for a laptop you actually want to take with you. When it comes to gaming, the 5070 is putting in some work, even on battery, in some games. I mostly gamed with New World Aeternum, Battlefield 2042, Stray and Tribes Ascend. Using Armory Crate software, I put the laptop into performance mode, and had no issues playing battle field or new world at native resolution. Most of the game settings are set at high, and although the fans are audibly putting in some work, you get a great gaming experience. I wanted to test what gaming was like on battery so I fired up each game listed. New World and Battle Field struggled on battery and I wouldn’t really recommend it. Lower demanding games such as tribes didn’t suffer too much. I’d say even a more casual game would be perfectly fine on battery, even Stray didn’t do too bad, but the full power experience is great. I’m letting Nvidia GeForce app take the wheel with optimizing game settings and everything on this smooth OLED screen just blows me away. In a game like New World Aeternum, where you have a wide open world with all kinds of colors, it’s easy to get immersed in the experience. Battery life on windows is getting better. A beautiful screen such as the 3k OLED on this laptop, you would think would drain the battery after only a few hours, but I get plenty of time when doing productivity tasks or watching a video, say 4 or 5 hours. Gaming is a bit of a different story, looking at only maybe an hour at best on battery, but I tested more demanding games, you’re milage may vary. I wouldn’t be hesitant to leave the house with nothing but a charging brick. The display is Amazing. Not sure how else to describe it other than the 3K OLED looks fantastic. OLED gives you those perfect black pixels providing amazing contrast that makes colors pop in videos. It’s a display that you’ll love to consume content or game on. I find that OLED just ends up being more immersive and keeps you focused on the content. The 240hz refresh rate keeps games silky smooth, even at lower resolutions, being a fluid experience makes up for it Some random thoughts. I don’t mind typing on the keyboard. For me it isn’t anything special, but works well. I love the full RGB control and the RGB lighting is plenty bright, with customization options. The trackpad has a nice feel to it and it’s large, while I prefer a mouse, I don’t think anyone will mind it too much. The area around the exhaust of the laptop gets very warm. I mainly game on a perforated cooling pad (powered off) just for the airflow and I could feel the exhaust blowing down onto my legs as I’m gaming. I’d say a more solid surface would solve this problem such as a table or book, but nevertheless, it does get warm just below the screen. Armory crate is still just “meh”. If they could streamline the UI and cut down on the design noise, I think it could be better. I just find it a bit busy. I would have liked replaceable RAM. I know there are benefits to soldering ram to get thinner design and faster ram speeds, but I just like as many replaceable parts as possible. WiFi 7 is amazing. It’s fast, it has low latency. I game almost exclusively on WiFi and a big part of the experience is the fast speeds and low latency of WiFi 7, having dedicated 6ghz spectrum to work off of. I’d say if I could summarize who this laptop is for, it’s for gamers, casual or more dedicated, who value the productivity side of things, while also enjoying a very sleek design and portability. You don’t need the most frames in a game to have fun, but you appreciate a beautiful display and smooth refresh rate.

    Impressively thin, light, and powerful

Unboxing this, the first thing I noticed was how thin and light it was. For a gaming laptop, I was immediately skeptical about its ability to maintain temperatures. I've consistently maintained that a good laptop, let alone a gaming laptop, needs good cooling. So, I presumed this would throttle rather quickly under prolonged heavy load. But, this laptop has proven me wrong, so very wrong. This thin, light, premium laptop somehow manages to keep itself cool enough to run a top performance even when sitting on a wood desk. I ran the steel nomad stress test in 3d mark for 20 cycles and it ran the 20th cycle just as good as the first. I did note that performance seemed underwhelming at first, before noticing that the performance default was set to "performance" as opposed to "turbo" in Armoury Crate. (Yes, this still uses AC, but more on that later.) It does get rather loud, and the case itself gets rather warm when run in Turbo mode while stressing it like that, but it still does not stumble. When done, it cools down and the fans also ramp down quickly as well. If you don't have anything graphically demanding (e.g. a game), the nVidia card shuts off, further reducing unnecessary power use and heat. When in a lower power state, the laptop actually generates very little heat and stays near silent. I was quite impressed with how it was able to throttle down without actually affecting performance when doing light tasks such as web browsing. It becomes easy to forget this is actually a powerful gaming laptop! Unplugged it seems to manage power even better, and I get quite impressive battery life for a gaming laptop; especially if you make sure the nVidia card is disabled. I could probably get 6-8 hours of casual use. I didn't test the battery when gaming, but I'm sure it's considerably shorter. The OLED screen is BEAUTIFUL! It's bright, vibrant, colorful, and buttery smooth. I usually deride OLED screens because of their potential for burn-in, and limited brightness. I'm surprised at how bright this can get, and that Asus did not seem to include any obvious burn-in protection tricks (e.g. inactive screen dimming, image shifting, etc...). I wonder if it's doing something not very noticeable. If it is or isn't, it may be prudent to take measures to protect the screen of burn-in yourself. E.g. don't set it to a higher brightness that absolutely necessary, especially if there are going to be prolonged static images on the screen. Now onto what I didn't like, which is mostly nit-picky stuff. It does have all the usual Asus bloatware (Armoury Crate, MyAsus, ScreenXpert, GlideX, Aura Creator), though AC and MyAsus are ostensibly required for managing the core laptop settings. This includes things like battery protect mode, keyboard lighting, firmware and driver updates, etc... The "Slash" on the screen lid is oddly not included with the Asus Aura lighting, and must be independently configured in Armoury Crate under its own settings tab. It lets you change a number of settings about when/how it lights, and different light patterns. Oddly, the patterns are grouped into "themes", but it's just groups of lighting patterns. Given it's 2025, and web applications, and Asus bloat, 16gb of RAM is really just barely enough to get by in a modern laptop. It's serviceable and fine, but was quite disappointed to find there is no possibility to add more ram to this laptop. If you want more RAM, you need the upgraded model of this laptop. But, none-the-less it still performs quite admirably and you definitely won't be disappointed.

    Gaming Portability in 2025

I couldn't wait to test the new 2025 version of the Asus Rog Zephyrus G16. I’ve built and owned several gaming desktops, so of course I wanted to experience the portability of a gaming laptop. First off, I was impressed with the presentation of the box design. It really led to a bit of excitement before unboxing. It’s sleek and minimal but not over the top with the packaging design. Second thing I noticed is the Zephyrus is a beautifully crafted and lightweight device. It's hard to believe how lightweight and thin the gaming laptop is. After powering on the device, the OLED display is beautiful. The 2.5k OLED display has rich and vibrant colors that is capable of HDR and Dolby Vision. I would recommend hiding the taskbar and lowering the brightness to reduce the risk of burn-in though. This may extend the lifespan of the display panel over time. Features The Zephyrus comes packed with: A full sized 2.1 HDMI port 2 type-C- 2.1 DisplayPort with Power delivery USB 3.2 type A SD Card Reader Wi-Fi 7 Audio Jack 240Hz 16-inch 2.K OLED screen Nvidia RTX 5070 Slash lighting Real world usage The laptop handled everyday tasks with ease after downloading the necessary updates for Windows. All the normal programs I used worked as designed without any hiccups. Apps like Word, Excel, Copilot, and some other programs gave me no issues. The keyboard layout is solid with large keys that is spaced and allows for comfortable typing. The keys are also backlit to add flair while typing and gaming at night. The trackpad is spacious and oversized. The responsiveness of the trackpad is a plus. The speakers were a pleasant surprise. They sound much better than most laptop speakers I’ve heard before. This version of the Zephyrus G16 only comes with 16gb of ram that is not upgradeable. This is sufficient, but it would have been ideal to be able to add additional ram for demanding workload and games. Battery Life I was impressed with the overall battery life on the laptop. Asus claims the Zephyrus G16 is capable of being charged at 50% in a little over 30 mins. I wanted to test this claim, and it did pass the test. I allowed the battery to drain while gaming without the charger and to my surprise, the charging speeds performed well. The only concerns I have is the heat this laptop creates. While gaming and performing intensive tasks, the laptop does get warm/hot. I'm not sure how that will hold up over time, but it’s something I would keep a look out for. Gaming Performance I downloaded a few games from the Windows store to check out the gaming performance on a few popular games. First thing I noticed, was while gaming the fan noise gets pretty loud when the system is stressed. This wasn’t as noticeable at first listen, but can be bothersome for some. Gaming performance was solid and comparable to my older gaming desktop. The only potential issues were the heat of the laptop and fan noise which is probably due to the Zephyrus’s compact design and size. Overall, I was impressed at the Asus Rog Zephyrus G16. It has great features and gaming performance that handled everything I threw at it. Although it’s not perfect, I still think it’s one of the best gaming laptops released so far.

    Gorgeous and Portable

So first impression I have to share about this laptop is about the display….WOW! I’m no stranger to OLED monitors as my Desktop monitor is a 32” OLED and have been using it for about a year now, but this ASUS display is gorgeous and blows my desktop monitor away, even with out-of-the box settings. The colors are rich, with high contrast, and deep blacks without any blooming. The brightness is amazing. I compared it by watching OLED demos and playing games on both displays, and it’s a pretty noticeable difference with the ASUS laptop taking the lead. A few other thoughts… Design Aside from fantastic display, I am really impressed with the portability of this laptop. Most gaming laptops end up being bulky and heavy, taking up lots of space and requiring more effort to commute with, however this one surprisingly has a great form factor while still holding a power performance punch. I would never guess from looking at the outside this was a gaming rig. On top of it, it has 2 USB C and 2 USB A ports, evenly split between both sides of the computer making accessibility a convenience. I do wish it had an ethernet port since that is my preferred method for connecting to the internet. The backlit (color changing light) keyboard is bonus, and the layout is very modern and not overcrowded. Its simple look, with upward speakers on both side of the keyboard while maintaining a clean look, but at the sacrifice of a NUM pad. The power cable is proprietary, so don’t lose it or it may not be so easy to replace. The back of the display has a “Slash” lighting effect. I’ll say its pretty unique and a nice touch for those that like to stand out. It has customizable patterns within the ASUS Armoury Crate application. This ASUS-designed app also lets you setup other custom preferences, check for device and ASUS updates, along with performance monitoring and metrics. Gaming I’ve played 3 different games so far on this laptop…Expedition 33, Doom: The Dark Ages, and Call of Duty Black Ops 6. I picked these games initially since I believe they would take advantage of an OLED screen and are more on the resource demanding side. I know Doom Eternal looked phenomenal on an OLED with the dark background and vibrant colors, and the new version of Doom did not disappoint! Playing these games was an enjoyable experience powered by the RTX 5070, playing in 2k resolution and was still managing to get ‘high’-quality graphics in the settings while holding 50-70 fps in these games. Don’t forget about the smoothness of 240Hz, its really a lot to take in especially if you are used to an older monitor. Performance-wise, this system did pretty well with the games I spent hours playing. Another perk about this setup is cooling or, the lack of heat. I have a friend with a high-end gaming laptop (the bulky bigger kind) that generates so much heat while playing games that his whole room gets hot, and he has to take breaks to let his room cool. While this computer pushes out heat from the back, it has much less heat than some of these other gaming units. It could be the intelligent cooling ASUS designed or a more efficient RTX 5070 GPU, either way the heat emission is much better than other gaming laptops I’ve experienced. Performance So far as CPU and GPU, I’ve had a generally good experience with the performance of this laptop. There have been a couple of lagging moments, but nothing that’s not expected with a Windows computer. I will say I am disappointed that this laptop only came with 16GB of memory, especially for one in this price range. Memory is cheap, and resources needed for applications, Windows OS, and especially games are much more demanding these days. I strongly believe 32GB should be the minimum RAM included in any gaming laptop of this caliber, but RAM is one of the easiest upgrades you can do on a laptop usually so its not a deal breaker for me. I do notice some lag when loading bigger games, and that’s probably due to the the RAM size. Updates, installs, general usage has been a good experience and snappy for the most part. When I start loading up a game, I get a notification that the GPU is being switched between onboard video and the Nvidia GPU which can get annoying at times as it pops up a few times when loading and exiting a game. Conclusion I can’t say enough about the display, and the portability for this new generation gaming rig was designed with lots of thought, especially weighing at only 4lbs. I’m pretty bummed that my desktop monitor is lagging behind in quality compared to this ASUS monitor but glad to know my standards need to be raised. While it could use more RAM pre-installed and maybe an ethernet port, there isn’t too much bad I can say about this computer. The speakers play at a good volume, but if you like to game, always use a headset, at least in FPS games. If you are someone who values image quality for work, gaming, or just personal preference, I don’t think you’ll regret getting this laptop. Using ASUS over the years, I still continue to buy their products without hesitation. FYI, the quality of the attached images don’t do the screen proper justice, but gives you an idea of the color depth.

One of my favorite laptops ever!

I am having difficulty even starting this review, not because of any problem or negative views of the laptop, but just because of how good it is! I suppose one way I could sum up this laptop is that, in the present time, in entering quarter three of 2025, this is what a two-thousand-dollar laptop should look like, feel like, sound like, perform like! It cannot be denied that this is a pricey device. Nor can it be accurately stated that this is the greatest dollar-to-performance gaming laptop in the category. However, no gaming laptop I have ever reviewed in over a decade of doing laptop reviews has ever quite captured this grouping of features that just launches this sixteen-inch screen beauty into a high place of honor for both everyday productivity/school use and gaming. Let’s go on to detail some of those now. First of all, the hardware and build quality of this laptop is basically perfect for what I look for in laptops. Full aluminum chassis, smooth one-finger-opening screen hinge, lusciously comfortable keyboard typing experience, generously sized and smooth-feeling trackpad, speakers loud enough to fill a couple of rooms with quality and full-range audio (in point of fact, the best gaming laptop speakers I have EVER heard, period). A screen with such rapid response and vivid beauty! It is all – just - here! My normal strategy with my laptop reviews is to give super nerdy, in-depth insights into the laptop. In this era of amazing YouTube reviewers and quality blogs, though, I feel like my best served purpose in this instance is to try to convey to the best of my ability the emotional and visceral feeling of using this laptop. When you first boot it on, you are greeted by the deep, perfect blacks of a certified OLED screen in all of its inky glory. The 16” screen brightens with the Windows login page and, when set up, you are welcomed into the use of your device with the handy Windows Hello camera option for login. Loading the home page of this device is lightning fast, the 16GB of soldered on 7467 MT/s RAM and 6700 mb/S speed NVMe SSD work in cooperation with the Core Ultra 9 285H CPU to ensure you have a fantastic workflow experience on day to day productivity tasks. And when you are ready to game plugged in, this machine stands up admirably to the task, delivering triple A gaming at max settings on almost all newer titles tested including Doom The Dark Ages, the latest update of Hunt: Showdown 1896, and on intensive VR games like Pavlov VR hooked up to a MetaQuest two! The fans can get a little noisy, but since it is a larger laptop with bigger fans and more breathing room, they make more of a constant “whooshing” sound rather than an aggravating whine and whir sound that some smaller gaming laptops tend to emit at high fan speeds. At the risk of being repetitive, I just want to touch on a couple more of my absolute key features. First, as a MacBook user (yes, I admitted it), this laptop is a true match in build quality while possessing GREATLY more utility for a gamer-centric laptop user. Furthermore, the device possesses greater versatility in use with more I/O built in, like USB-A ports, while remaining a highly comfortable thickness. The keyboard is also a fantastic one, perfect for day to day typing of essays, emails, or whatever else you have in mind! This very review is being written on the laptop keyboard and I have no greater fatigue with it over my usual keyboards I type on. This also almost goes without saying, but this laptop is NOT an all-day device on battery. It is super optimized with Nvidia Optimus built in which switches the laptop to using the built in graphics on the Intel Core Ultra 9 chip instead to the dedicated GPU which saves power, and it is also capable on silent mode in the Armory crate settings of toning down the power factors overall so you can enjoy about 3 to 4 hours of unplugged basic productivity use. Thus, my favorite way to use this laptop is on Silent mode for the battery savings and quieting of the fans, while switching the screen to 240hz refresh. I know that this is a source of inefficiency, but I just value a smooth display so much and since you are paying for this gorgeous OLED high refresh speed panel, I recommend you take full advantage of it for gaming and non-gaming scenarios! One MASSIVE benefit I found with this laptop that you are going to love. It is capable of charging at partial power over USB-C!!! Yes. You read that right, you do not have to bring around the 200watt power brick and dedicated charger all the time! I hooked up my 100-watt capable power supply to this laptop via USB-C, and it was pulling in the full 100 watts! Albeit, you do get warnings from the system that this is not enough power to run at full performance for gaming, etc., but the scenario I imagine using USB-C for is when I am at work with a laptop and just need to top it off without bothering to lug around a 200-watt charging brick! This is a great feature that honestly takes this laptop above and beyond competitors who do not offer this feature in terms of flexibility and versatility! The ONLY thing on this laptop I can find some fault with is the trackpad. It is gigantic, which is super handy for navigating a large screen like this, but I have encountered some palm rejection issues while typing. Additionally, despite my griping and complaining on every platform I can manage, the trackpad is STILL not being offered with a haptic trackpad option. With companies out there like Sensel creating incredible haptic trackpads for Windows laptops, I would just truly hope that someday one of these gaming laptop companies gets on board with adding one. I know that for most gamers, this is not a necessity, given most of us will game with a mouse. But for those wishing to use a device like this as a multi-purpose work, school, and gaming device, it would be so great to have that option! A couple of other, far more minor complaints are the following: The outside does pick up fingerprints quite a lot; I am really hoping that a company like dbrand eventually releases as high-quality skin to help mitigate this issue. I basically find the slash lighting on the lid to be kind of silly and show-offy, so I keep it turned off most of the time. Altogether, I will give this laptop an absolute 5 out of 5 stars. My very few complaints are so minimal compared to the veritable landslide of incredible features found on this laptop. I am so grateful to have this machine in my possession, and I would highly recommend that anyone comparing a gaming laptop in this category and price range give this one some serious consideration!

This laptop is awesome. I got this for school since I'm starting a data analytics graduate program, This brought me the best balance between battery life, performance, a good display, weight (since I'm lugging it around all the time), and brings a nice minimalist aesthetic despite being a gaming laptop. I mostly use this laptop for homework and it's awesome (right now it's primarily programming). The keyboard feels great for this, and the display is AWESOME. It's big and clear. You can switch to a "Silent" mode profile, which makes the fans much quieter and tones down the resources a lot (since you wouldn't really be gaming under this profile). When I do game on here for fun, it does get a little warm and the fans kick in, but that's obviously what it's supposed to do as a gaming laptop. I've tried Baldur's Gate 3 and it looks even better than on my main desktop. I'm sure the high refresh rate on this laptop would make games like Valorant and Fortnite look crisp. The only nitpick I have is the font on the keys, but nothing terrible. I highly recommend this product as a great all-arounder.

I’ve had the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 for a little over a week now, and I’m blown away. This is hands down the best gaming laptop I’ve ever owned. The16 inch OLED display is absolutely stunning, it’s sharp, vibrant, and paired with a 240Hz refresh rate, everything looks buttery smooth. Whether I’m gaming or streaming video, the visual experience is incredible. It’s shockingly lightweight for a gaming laptop and traveled really well during a recent trip. Despite the power it’s packing, the fan stays surprisingly quiet, even in performance mode. This model comes with 16GB RAM and an RTX 5070, and it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it without breaking a sweat. Games run flawlessly with no lag, no hiccups, and it performs like a tower PC in a portable shell. Boot-up is lightning fast and it has no issue juggling daily tasks, apps, and tons of open browser tabs. Battery life has been great too, I have gotten around 10 hours on average, and it recharges quickly. The port selection is solid with 1 HDMI, 1 Thunderbolt USB-C, USB-C, 2 USB-A, SD card slot, and even a 3.55mm headphone jack, basically everything anyone would need, especially when docked to multiple screens or even when traveling. The RGB keyboard and LED light strip add a fun, customizable touch. And the speakers… wow. The sound blew me away the first time I heard it, it was full, loud, and clear. I think my jaw literally dropped when I hit play on Spotify. Windows 11 with Copilot AI is a cool bonus that makes productivity super easy. Overall, this laptop has exceeded every expectation. If you’re a gamer or creator looking for top-tier performance, killer visuals, and portability, the Zephyrus G16 delivers. I highly recommend it! I wouldn’t expect anything less from Asus; they always knock it out of the park!

The first thing I want to note to anyone looking purchase a gaming system, when it comes to customer service and support, Asus is always at the top. I have literally had a system from every major manufacturer and I cannot recommend them enough. From their Hands-On support to their one year free of damage protection. Top notch. Now on to the system itself. I have had several of the Zephyrus laptops, and I have always been impressed. Sleek form factor, great RGB lighting, tactile perfected keys, plenty of ports for everything I need, and decent battery life for a gaming laptop. The initial window setup went on without a hitch, and once I was set up it was blazing fast. Loaded up epic games and loaded my first game, and I was up and playing in no time. Beautiful imagery and colors from the OLED screen, and the 240 HZ has everything moving as smooth as ever, pair that with the RTX 5070 and dlss and we were in business with no hiccups. This system is also thin and light enough that I can toss it in my bag without taking up major space and it's ready to play wherever I am. Battery life is typical, at high performance. You're only getting about an hour and a half to 2 hours. Take it down. You can stretch that out. As I noted decent battery life. As I continued playing, I noticed the heat dissipation was managed very well. The wrist area has plenty of room to rest if you're using the track pad to navigate around, and as I just mentioned, it doesn't get hot and stays comfortable. This particular system only has 16 GB of RAM, but that's plenty enough for everything. I was using it for. My major purpose when not out and about gaming, is to use it as a streamer for my main PC to my living room TV. For this, no issues at all, and a great duplication of what's on my main gaming rig. The 5070 the processor, and the ram combination work just fine for everything I need and I haven't noticed any slowdowns or graphical issues thus far. Material wise, always impress with the zephyrus series as they are very well built. One nice little touch is the light strip on the back of the laptop. It's like a lightning bolt. I truly appreciate that little detail. Of course you have all your necessities like USBC and A ports, though you may need a hub if you want to add multiples, but that's pretty standard. Backlit keyboard is RGB and bright, camera is great for zooming etc., and the speakers are very good for a laptop. Internal speakers have come a long way, and the speakers on this system show the fruit of progress. I still use a headset, but trust, these could hold on their own if your headset wasn't available. In closing, this is a great system supported by a company whose customer service I find to be exceptional. I absolutely would recommend it for speed, color, use, and overall functionality. You won't go wrong with this one.

ASUS has slowly started to take over my house, and it’s laptops like this that are making it happen. The ROG Zephyrus G16 is a fine machine with a lot of style and power behind it. This is our 3rd ASUS laptop in the last 5 years and they just keep getting better with each iteration. While my kids are enjoying the hand-me-downs, I am loving this G16. Let’s start off by talking about this beautiful screen. This OLED beauty boasts some of the clearest and most vivid pictures that I have seen on any laptop. With a 240 Hz refresh rate, things are smooth and crisp with every movie clip, HD video, or gaming session. All of that beauty is available due to the G16’s combination of the NVIDIA GeFOrce RTX 5070, the added DLSS 4 technology, and the 8GB of GDDR7 RAM. From there, you add in the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor to go along with a 1TB SSD, and you have yourself one heck of a machine. In some respects, this powerful laptop could replace desktops for some. The one thing that prevents me from going all in on that is the 16GB of RAM that is not upgradeable. That’s a tough one to get around when it comes to trying to keep your machine up to speed as time goes on. Hopefully, that will be a long way down the road though. Looking at the external sharpness of the G16, the Eclipse Gray is pretty classy in appearance. Then you add in a little fun with the customizable Slash lighting on the top of the laptop. It really pops on the aluminum chassis. When open, the keyboard has several options to light up your experience or turn it off to keep things to a minimum if you are using that camera at the top of the monitor. Around the sides you will find the various connection options. You have the HDMI and Thunderbolt options for your external display needs. I used both with no issue whatsoever. Then you have the USB-C and USB-A connections as well as a media card reader and a headphone jack. This laptop has a lot of versatility with all of these options. I will say that the longer gaming sessions will produce a little more noise from the fans and a good deal of heat on the bottom of the unit. Neither are super terrible and deal breakers, but they should be taken into account depending on where you are. That’s where being on a table and the headphone jack can come in handy. Personally, I have really enjoyed my overall experience with the G16. The gaming has been great and I look forward to more of it.

Powerful device packed into a lightweight package. Runs all of my needs + light gaming which looks beautiful on the OLED display and high refresh rate. The speakers are also some of the best that I've heard on a laptop. Few shortcomings to be aware of. Due to the slim design, the system does run hot but has not bothered me yet when typing. In addition, the device is not cheap, so I wish it came with at least 32 GB of ram. The GPU is also limited in the 8 GB VRAM so something to keep in mind if you game a lot + play any AAA titles in the near future. Overall, I do not regret my purchase especially if you catch it on a sale!

There are so many things to say about this excellent Zephyrus that ASUS hit out of the park. 16' but really thin for the internal beefiness, stunning OLED display, performance with gaming etc. After daily driving it there is only 2 things that I personally would bug me for the future. I will get to this later. Setup is fairly standard and easy. In the box comes the laptop that is extremely well protected, the power brick with a proprietary connector and the usual paperwork. I love the look of the aluminum chassis with the light strip on the back that looks like a "/" mark, but it's easily forgettable as you will never see it. I/O is plentiful for my needs. On the side with the power connecter you have HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4 USB C, USB 3.2 Type A and an Audio/Mic combo jack and on the other side is another USB 3.2 Type A, USB C and a SD card reader. Being a Windows 11 PC, I trudged through the annoying setup and login screen that took forever to me. There is an incredibly large amount of bloatware that I would suggest you remove from the laptop as soon as you get to your desktop and after DLing and installing about a 100 updates. McAfee being the worst. This will at least free up some space on the 1TB NVMe you get for space. The screen is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. The "2.5K" 2560x1600 OLED running at a smoooooth 240 hz with a .2ms response time is just a great combination. Perfect blacks and everything your eyes see is just stunning. Another crazy thought that I would normally rarely say is that the built in speakers are not just ok or passable, but actually great. 6 speakers with dual side woofers are placed perfectly on the keyboard. During gaming, if you don't feel like using a headset, I found them extremely good. Nice and loud with crisp sound, even at higher volumes. Performance is excellent from my previous predecessors. Personally I have been using the ROG Zephyrus as a desktop replacement and never once regretted the decision. The Intel 285H is really not that bad considering their previous 2 desktop gen's issues. No game I played was ever CPU bound. The RTX 5070 Laptop is a nice workhorse even though you should know it is NOT the same is a regular desktop 5070. I benchmarked Time Spy and even Shadows of the Tomb Raider on high/max settings and got excellent results. See my pics. Every game I own and threw at it never stuttered, skipped, artifact or played sluggish. Oblivion Remaster, DOOM, CyberPunk etc were a blast. The keyboard/trackpad is nice and comfortable for someone my size (I just have big hands). Keys were responsive and had a great tactile feeling that I enjoy. Even when typing and my wrists being on the trackpad, I never once had a slip of the mouse/cursor. I do use an external G502 gaming mouse that pairs well. Another this I like is fan noise. Even during demanding tasks/gaming, the fans to ramp up, but they do NOT sound like mini jet engines like I am used to in other laptops. Easily can be drowned out with headphones but also the built-in speakers. I would not even notice the fans were on unless I was actually actively listening for them. Now I did try to see if I could remove the bottom to see the internals, but after removing all the T6 screws, the base is stuck together near the rear where all the cooling is so I did not want to risk damaging it. From what I did have access to, it seems you can replace the NVMe but did not see an extra slot for a 2nd (there could be one but I only had access to the front 50% and to the left of that is the wifi card. I really did want to see if you could add RAM but I think it is soldered and non-upgradable (you get 16GB of LPDDR5X @ 7467MHz). This brings me to my personal negatives about the laptop. 1st is the 1TB drive. For something that is as premium as this ROG, 2TB should be standard considering game sizes nowadays. 2nd is the 16GB of RAM. It seems the time is coming where 16GB is not going to cut it and at least 24/32GB should be the new norm. This and the inclusion of McAfee is the reason I knocked off a star. This ROG Zephyrus, even when only having a 5070 with 16GB, I feel is more than enough for a really enjoyable experience with today's modern titles. I have been having a blast with all my games

I’ve been using the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 for a few weeks and it feels like the perfect mix of power and portability. The 16-inch OLED display is stunning — colors are vivid, and games look incredibly smooth at high refresh rates. Performance is top-notch; it runs heavy games and editing software without a hiccup. The build feels premium and it’s surprisingly lightweight for a gaming laptop. The only downsides are that the fans get loud under load and battery life isn’t all-day, but plugged in, it’s a beast. Overall, I’m really happy with the balance of performance and design.

Coming off of last year’s superb 2024 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 the 2025 G16 is another strong entry. While more of a revision rather than a revolution it still packs a bunch of power in a solid and small frame. It is a thinner laptop so it's lighter and easier to carry, just keep in mind if you want a quiet laptop then run it in Silent mode (for browsing or work) and then switch to performance or turbo mode when gaming. Like last year’s model the G16 packs a superb 16-inch OLED screen with inky blacks and amazing contrast. There is also built in software that helps manage the life of the oled screen by dimming certain parts of the desktop if your brightness is set to the higher settings. Speaking of software, the initial boot and setup of the laptop had me stumped because none of the ASUS software was to be found, you actually have to reboot one time for the software to show up and then you can change settings such as the lighting and fan profile. The speakers were very loud and full once you enable the Atmos sound software, I usually run the volume at around 60% because it was so loud. The Core Ultra 9 285H is a decent upgrade over last year’s model and is a bit more efficient, where the real upgrade is on this model is with the NVIDIA 5070 which allows support for multi-frame generation in supported games. This multi-frame generation comes in handy because the laptop runs at a native 2560x1600 resolution which is a bit high for a laptop, I hope future versions of this laptop can run at double resolution rates (1080p+4k) or that they provide a native 1080p oled screen option so we can crank up the settings without giving up high refresh rates. The RGB keyboard only offers one color zone and is nice to type on, it doesn’t feel mushy and the trackpad is huge which makes it easy to use. You do have access to the NVME drive for storage upgrades but the ram is soldered on so future ram upgrades are almost impossible. The 2025 version of the G16 outputs a bit less fan noise than the previous year when in silent mode which is always welcome, gaming laptops aren't really meant to be in your lap so keep that in mind when gaming as it can get hot and make you uncomfortable. The G16 also comes with USB-C power delivery so you can charge your laptop with one if you don't have the included power brick, however if your USB-C charger does not provide enough power the laptop will not be able to run at its maximum performance. All the games that I played on it ran great especially with NVIDIA's automatic settings chooser it made jumping straight into the games a breeze. Overall, you will not be disappointed with the 2025 Zephyrus G16 it is a great revision over last year’s model and I look forward to seeing what major changes they make in the future.

This review is for the AUSU – ROG Zephyrus G16 GU605CP 16” OLED, Gaming laptop with Intel core ultra 9 2.90 Ghz, 16 GB of ram, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, and 1TB SSD hard drive. Man, this thing has great out of the box performance. Let’s start with unboxing. The laptop itself is protected very well in its packaging. In the box you won’t find much. Just the laptop itself, the power block for charging and some paperwork. The setup is the same as with any new computer running windows. Just log in with your Microsoft account or set up a new one. Download all of the updates and you are good to go. It can be time consuming but needs to be done. The first thing I did was activate the free 3 months PC game pass that is included and started downing a few games to see what this thing could do. 100 GB later I had COD installed. Jumped right in and I was seeing a steady 60 frames per second. The game play was so smooth and lag free. And the display screen is awesome. It’s very bright with deep colors and super clear even in dark scenarios. My first thoughts is this thing is a lightweight, portable powerhouse perfect for on the go gaming. The case of the laptop feels nice and sturdy, has a very good build quality. You will find a kool slash light on the lid when closed. It has a built-in camera and microphone, a SD memory card reader, two USB type-C 3.2 gen 2 ports, a thunderbolt 4 port, 3.5mm headphone jack and a HDMI output port. The keyboard also has backlighting making the keys easy to find even in the dark. And I was a little surprised with the built-in speakers. I mean it’s no concert sound with deep bass but better than any other laptop I’ve had before. This laptop can handle it all, from gaming to video editing or schoolwork. This unit has you covered.

ASUS made such a beautiful machine with this ROG Zephyrus! You have a thin, sturdy built machine with the looks of a workhorse but with just a little flair on the lid and RGB keyboard. It's been a little while since I have picked up a laptop with specs such as these, Intel Core Ultra 9, 16GB of RAM, RTX 5070 plus a 16 inch 2.5K OLED panel capable of 240Hz! ASUS was able to fit all of this power into a thin chassis. There is an HDMI 2.1 port plus a Thunderbolt 4 for display output. With the size, the laptop does warm up quite a bit, causing the fans to ramp while gaming. Playing with headset and chatting, it was pretty much muted out. There is a built-in camera and microphone, but I did not test out either as I was mostly chatting on my headset and grinding levels in the new Diablo 4 season. I was able to comfortably sit and play long sessions without any issues, the laptop is more than capable in specs and able to keep itself cool enough to avoid any slow down due to temps! I didn't crack open the laptop, as I usually do, I like to look and see if there are any options to upgrade the RAM, plus just check out the innards of the machine. The trackpad is huge on this laptop! WiFi 7 has been solid while I play, with the Thunderbolt 4 cable I can always use my docking station to get a wired port, but this has been more than capable of downloading and playing some pretty intense hordes of enemies without any lag. This machine has been a beast! Got the new Destiny 2 content next week plus Grounded 2 later this month that I am looking forward to grinding through with this laptop, plus admire the games on this OLED panel!

The Zephyrus g16 is a beast wrapped in slick clothing. It's thin, light, and pretty but packs a punch when you need power to get some gaming done...I'm guessing it could be used for work too, lol. First impression is that the screen is gorgeous. It's and OLED so you'll get the deep shadows and bright highs. The brightness is a bit too much for me in my normal usage case, so I turn of HDR and lower the brightness when not gaming - not sure why it doesn't keep the brightness setting prior to switch to HDR like other monitors do. Make sure you follow all the normal OLED care guides and burn-in should be minimal or non-existent. The GPU, while plenty powerful for most games, is hindered by only 8GB of memory. I'm not sure why Nvidia even allows 8GB now-a-days with the higher res textures and AI use being more common. Still, the amount is sufficient to keep you going for a while until game start requiring more VRAM at min specs. The only issue I've seen is that 3dmark scores are below average. While it doesn't really translate much into real game play, it is something I'd like to take a closer look at. I didn't check the specs of the other machines so the ones skewing the average could be either heavily OC'ed machines or cheater who get off on making big numbers. There's no num pad and in the place are some pretty large and loud speakers. They give good separation and give the illusion of being further apart then they are. They won't hit deep booms, but they get low enough to give a good range of sound. So far I'm loving the refresh and can't wait to get back to gaming after some yard chores.

This is an exceptional device. Great screen. OLED is bright (500+ nits), fast 240hz refresh rate and great viewing angles. The keyboard is tactile, has enough depth and keycaps are wide. The trackpad is smooth and large. However, the right click is tricky. The device is thin and light for it's class and battery life is around 5 hours max (if everything is turned down). The biggest downside is ONLY 16GB of DDR5 RAM :-( so no upgrades in the future. If you can live with that you have a capable gaming system.
