The ROG Zephyrus G16 is a powerful yet lightweight laptop that handles games with ease. With its specs, it comes as no surprise that it can run hot - however in certain spots the cooling is surprisingly effective, making long gaming sessions relatively comfortable. Pros: -Lightweight and thin (around 4 lbs) -PC setup/updates were relatively quick and went by without issue. There wasn’t a lot of unnecessary software that needed to be dealt with - for me it was mainly just changing some settings in Armoury Crate and installing crucial updates in the MyASUS program. -The speakers sound great and are very enjoyable for a laptop in my opinion. It sounds full and can get loud without any distortion. Overall, the audio feels balanced enough for all kinds of media content and gaming. -240hz OLED screen is perfect for shooter games like CS2, and even though the screen is glossy it can get bright enough for use under direct sunlight -With the 5080, games like Forza Horizon 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Indiana Jones run and look amazing on the highest settings. -SD card slot -Spacious touchpad -Personally I find the keyboard keys the perfect size. -Fans do an excellent job of cooling the left and right sides of the keyboard, specifically around the WASD key area (about 90°F) - extended gaming sessions are pretty comfortable if the laptop is on a desk (I believe the hottest parts of the laptop are down the middle). Cons: -RGB keyboard leaves a lot to be desired (no custom per key lighting, few effects). While the keys feel responsive for gaming, the typing experience feels a little hollow and somewhat boring in my opinion. -Fan noise is a little loud when gaming -Charger is a bit hefty - to no surprise when I plugged in an older, lighter 100W charger to see if it would be ok I got an insufficient power warning. -Touchpad is not too sensitive, while casually gaming on it sometimes swipe gestures would not register (looking around in-game). I changed the sensitivity in Windows settings to max and it was better. Overall, the G16 is an excellent, lightweight laptop that delivers a smooth and immersive gaming experience. The screen, fans, and speakers are also impressive, making this an excellent choice for gamers looking to upgrade or need mobility without sacrificing gaming performance.

I know this Laptop would be my To Go To, long time to come, it feels Premium and Durable! The laptop (Zephyrus G-16) it's gorgeous, from the moment i unboxed it to after few days of usage, keeps catching my eyes all the time. Beautiful machined full aluminum body and it's, to my surprise, incredible Thin and Light for how much power it packs with the latest components available (Nvidia RTX 4080/ super fast 2TB SSD and the Intel Ultra 9). Whether I’m gaming, editing videos, or multitasking with heavy applications, the performance is buttery smooth. AAA games run flawlessly on ultra settings, and the thermals stay surprisingly controlled for such a slim chassis. The Display it's super bright and color-accurate and it does add a lot to the beauty of this Laptop i'm glad Asus went with OLed technology here. At 240hz this display it's a dream to look at. The speakers output the best sound i have ever heard in any laptop so far and the Keyboard (RGB) as well as the trackpad are very responsive. Overall, Asus showed that in 2025 a Gaming Laptop can be as beautiful as portable/stylish and gone are those days when you had to wonder if you should sacrifice performance over the looks. If you are looking for a top tier Laptop the Zephyrus G16 it's the one!

Coming from the previous generation’s Zephyrus, there was hope that with new technology would bring better performance, better efficiency, and a chance of fixing all (or at least most) of the problems that were encountered before. Has this been met with this newest iteration? Well, there are mixed feelings on that. I will be conducting this review compared to the previous generation that had an Intel 185H and RTX 4090, all other specs are the same. For those coming onto this platform fresh, the Zephyrus lineup has always had decent build quality; you get the feeling that you got what you paid for. The keyboard is a joy to use, the touchpad is nice and large so you have to be a little careful when typing, and the speakers are amongst the best for a laptop. There are no problems with the OLED screen, it is extremely sharp and amazing for photography. I find that this has the perfect I/O ports for travel without needing a dongle. You do need to bring the charging brick, otherwise you are forced into the discrete graphics when on a lower powered charger (on battery, you can use the GPU without a problem). Overall, using this is a joy and it is definitely a more enjoyable experience than the previous generation. With that said, let’s dive into what has changed and fixed. For starters, one of the main reasons why it is more enjoyable is they have really dialed in the fan noise. You really do not hear the fan unless you start doing processing work, compared to before where the fans start kicking on when you watch YouTube. The CPU and GPU seem to play more nicely together on the platform too. The problem where the 185H would hit a high temperature limit and suddenly drop to 300MHz were not seen for the 285H. All that being said, one of the biggest elephant in the room needs to be addressed, and that is the price. This is coming in at about the same price as the 4090 last generation, which is a huge price jump as that was last year’s flagship model. Looking at the benchmark photos uploaded, there is only a minor improvement. Also one thing to note, the current fan profiles do not have the fans running at 100% and that really drops the CPU scores as shown. That means to get the extra CPU performance, you’ll need to change the fan profiles and say goodbye to the quiet life. So at the end of the day, this was a marginal improvement over the 4090 from last generation at a similar MSRP. Intel once again should not have been the CPU choice, AMD has a much better option and better efficiency. The 5080 is disappointing and barely better than a 4090. This laptop leaves much to be desired; as an upgrade from last generation it is not much, and for a newcomer, you may be better off getting a used 4090 variant or wait for a sale. If you must have the shiniest and newest, the Zephyrus platform is an extremely enjoyable user experience and that is something that should be considered.

Fantastic laptop, has more than enough processing power for any game, amazing display, keyboard feels good, amazing speakers aswell, by far the best I’ve heard on any laptop. Also has a great selection of high speed ports. It’s amazing what they have fit into this laptop considering how slim and lightweight it is. My only recommendation is to do a fresh install of windows when you open the laptop, it’s a shame how much bloat and unnecessary apps come with gaming laptops today, even with 32gb of RAM fresh out the box you will get 30% memory usage idle, which isn’t great but that’s no fault of the laptop, simple fix!

I bought an open-box variant from the store which was marked as "Good". But it had no visible marks or scratches at all. Am really happy with the device. Something to bear in mind is that the device runs really hot (around 85-87°C for CPU and 70°C for GPU under heavy load (I play Deadlock often) so I would recommend using another keyboard and keeping it on a desk that has proper ventilation. Am really happy with how responsive the device is for almost any given task. 2TB HDD is also a lifesaver as installing essential software (for music production, video editing, MS Office) and a few games took up about 700GB of space for me and so having the headroom helped and feels like futureproofing! Not significantly heavier than Zephyrus G14, definitely significantly lighter than most other gaming laptops of around 16" and in this price bracket. Fans are loud but not that much louder than 14" from my experience. The lights on the back are really cool as well. Battery life is good compared to other laptops of this form factor but definitely not like a Macbook. Display although slightly lower resolution than 14", is still phenomenal.

About The ROG Zephyrus G16 is a high end gaming laptop brought to you by Asus. It boasts an Intel Ultra 9 Series 2 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card, 240Hz refresh rate, 2 TB solid state hard drive, and 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Generous connectivity options are provided while keeping the laptop to a thin and lightweight design. Packaging and Contents The packaging has a nice appearance. Contents included the laptop, power adapter, and small instruction manuals. General Specifications Screen Size: 16” OLED Screen Resolution: 2560 x 1600 @ 240Hz Processor: Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor Series 2 Memory: 32GB LPDDR5X Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 (16GB of GDDR7 Video Memory) Storage: 2TB SSD Operating System: Windows 11 Home Audio: Dolby Atmos RGB Lighting: Backlit keyboard with customizable keyboard lighting. Slash lighting at cover. The touchpad mouse is the biggest laptop touchpad I have ever seen. It takes up half of the keyboard. Ports and Connections Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi 7 Bluetooth Headphone Jack HDMI Out: 1 (2.1) Thunderbolt 4 Out: 1 USB Type A: 2 (3.2 Gen 2) 10 Gbps USB Type C: 1 (3.2 Gen 2) DC Power Input (not a USB Type C) Media Card Reader: SD Card Slot Reader Camera: 1080p Gaming Experience Now that we’re past all of the specs, the most encompassing thing that I can say is that this thing seems to be able to handle anything that I can do to challenge it. It’s made for gaming and it does it well. The screen had a stunningly sharp picture. The video while gaming had an enjoyable smooth movement. It didn’t have any lag or jitter. Excellent job overall. It’s very similar to last year’s model, but with even more souped-up specs due to the 5080 graphics card and the more advanced processor. I did have one issue so far, and it turned out to be a video card driver. Once I did the update for it through the Nvidea updater, it fixed everything. Other Things I Noticed Features vs Size – This is the same exact case as last year’s model. Asus did a masterful job with providing a loaded laptop with a larger screen while creating a thinner, less bulky device. It looks good and works well. Mouse Pad – This was one of the few things that I did not like about the laptop. The mouse pad takes up half of the keyboard space. It actually makes it harder to type because it’s so big. This isn’t new for Asus, as a few of my Asus laptops have had this. Heat – For gaming laptops, this can be a big issue. The laptop did pretty well considering the size and power of the graphics card. I did notice that my power adapter was pretty warm after a few hours of use. Power Adapter Cords – I don’t really like how the two-part power supply is split. It seems like the power block ends up too close to the laptop. Maybe something for Asus to look at. It would be more convenient to have the block within 2-3 feet away from the plug, and provide generous length from the block to the laptop. Most users will eventually sit at a desk and this would make tabletop positioning more convenient. Fingerprints – The gray aluminum finish does show fingerprints. You can see it in my pictures. It’s not that big of a deal for me. Overall, this is an excellent luxury gaming laptop. The video motion is smooth and the picture is stunning. It’s simply a higher end machine. While there were a few minor things that I mentioned I still believe that this product deserves 5 stars. I think that most people will find it to be a very solid gaming machine and should be happy with their selection. Asus continues to make good products. This is my fourth laptop from them, and they all have worked very well.

Lightweight powerful machine. Great screen display, graphic is crisp and vibrant colors, if you travel a lot while on the road with no plug can become a bit difficult, battery doesn’t last long, if you use it on your lap it can get very hot specially if wearing shorts, keyboard area gets hot but nothing out of the normal gaming laptop, performs extremely well in gaming even in the highest settings.

Its a great mid level gaming laptop. Pros: nice backlit keyboard, can handle all my favorite games, no issues with the screen, a fairly gold value, especially if its on sale. Cons: heavy, also the fans can get loud during long gaming sessions. Not the best battery life, but it is a gaming laptop.

I was on the fence between buying this or a Macbook. I wanted a great on-the-go laptop that could also game, and this laptop seemed like the best compromise. Gaming wise, it is an absolute beast, capable of playing Cyberpunk on 4K ultra on my TV, with some help from DLSS. Despite what others say about the 5080 being underpowered on this laptop, I feel it is strong enough to handle anything you can throw at it. This laptop isn't perfect for on-the-go though. The battery life has diminished compared to the AMD version - I get around 7 hours of Youtube playback, which is honestly less than I was hoping for. With reports that the AMD version could do 12 hours, I really wish they had stuck with the AMD version for more power efficiency. Also, the laptop can be finicky. When plugged in at 240hz, I notice flickering in the brighness of the display. When I reboot the laptop it goes away, so not sure what the cause could be. Bluetooth sometimes doesn't recognize my earbuds, though I think it might be a Windows issue.

The Rog Zephyrus G16 with an RTX 5080 is a fantastic and fun portable gaming laptop that is unfortunately significantly held back by the limited wattage delivered to the dedicated GPU. I understand that lower wattages and therefore decreased performance are the trade off when going for something as thin and sleek as this laptop. But other laptops in this market, like Razer's Blade 16 or 18, are able to give much more power to the GPU while still maintaining a very similar level of thinness. Quite simply the price to performance ratio is pretty terrible. But I understand that purchasers of this laptop are probably not concerned strictly with maximum gaming performance. Rather, if your primary concern is thinness and beauty then there is almost literally nothing better than this laptop on the market today. It is slim sleek and stylish, with an absolutely gorgeous (though unfortunately quite dim, only reaching 400 nits) OLED display. So if you're wanting more screen real estate and better thermals than the smaller G14 then this G16 might be for you. The keyboard is quite nice and satisfying, and the chassis is satisfyingly small and light. Thermals are generally okay, but if you do anything more than light web browsing, then the laptop will get hot pretty fast. In other words, this thing needs to be elevated on a laptop stand. As I said before, if you are looking at price to performance, then this laptop is a pretty terrible deal. But if you want just the right balance of performance and thinness/portability with a slightly larger screen than the G14, then the ASUS ROG Zephyrus is quite simply unbeatable.

This really is the machine to have if you are looking for the total package! It's Quiet for gaming machine, Anti glare OLED, best speakers in a laptop. Lightest in class, the only negative is the price which is why I couldn't keep it!! Look for it on sale if you can!!

Amazing screen but the fan gets very loud and hot playing any games that use the dedicated gpu.

I've been waiting for a gaming laptop that checks all the boxes. This is definitely it. I needed something portable, and powerful. This laptop can handle just about anything i throw at it and looks professional as well. I previously had an LG Gram 17, and was worried about adjusting to the new screen. Losing a little bit of real-estate was worth this beautiful OLED display. I also hate super glossy screens and this one does a nice job diffusing glare. Its not matt but it maintains a nice balance. Keyboard us great, wish it had per key led lighting but thats not the end of the world to me. Overall highly satisfied with this laptop and would recommend it to others.

I upgraded to the G16 from the Asus M16 (12900/24GB RAM/3070Ti). The G16 is definitely thinner and lighter and both the screen and speakers are improved. I think the keyboard is better, but need more time and use to confirm. It does seem typing is more precise with the G16. I've only done a little gaming, but performance was as expected. Because it's thinner, there are limitations, but using GHelper can aid with that depending on how much you want to fiddle. The one major complaint I have/had was the screw for the second SSD slot was stripped by the factory and was insanely tight. It required me having to buy a $30 tool to get the screw out. After that, installing the second SSD was normal. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

Can't believe how much power is packed into this laptop being so thin and light. This is coming from using an M4 Max. Definitely the ideal laptop if you value build quality and portability. Also, there are some guides for vbios that allow for higher graphics quality. Overall very pleasantly surprised!

I think this might be the single best laptop I have ever used. I purchased this laptop for university purposes, and it has served me well. My main concerns was the quietness while in a class and the battery life. Both of these are completely adequate. The gaming performance is the best I have ever encountered and beats a couple friends' gaming PCs. But no one is talking about the screen enough. This display is so good it made me start watching movies and content that I would never otherwise watch. I am memorized by the accuracy and the vibrancy of this display. I won't ever go back to a brand other than ASUS. Actually amazing experience.

Its a great gaming laptop. it form factor is compact, it runs games great although you might not get the highest fps running super ultra settings on aaa titles, it still fantastic for a laptop and very playable. The screen is awesome, oled black is deep black. this laptop can do it all, gaming productivity educational streaming.

Thin and lightweight for a gaming laptop but fans get louder than a normal gaming laptop. Battery is around 10hours with G-Helper for office use. Definitely recommended for work/game combo. 5070ti is the sweet spot for this laptop. However, I did get a defective unit for this laptop. Test for defective unit.

Glad I did. I was more looking to get into the Apple Ecosystem, but I was not able to game. Even with the higher CPU/GPUs. Macs do not support most of my games and I really needed that option. I held out for this and got it for the price of an M4 Macbook Pro with the pro chip and 24gb RAM. This thing runs everything I throw at it. Runs cool when you beed it to and is a great overall laptop. The two things I would recommend you do is learn to install Ghelper and uninstall the Aromoury Crate, along with instead of having this sleep when you close the lid, have it hybernate. This is likely a windows issue as sometimes it will be running and I did not want to risk it overheating. Great laptop, just wait for the best deal!

I really like this laptop. It’s lightweight, slim, and runs very fast, and I really like the display. I would definitely purchase it again. The only downside is that it gets hot when gaming, but that’s common with most gaming laptops.
