I had this and the G14 2024, keeping this one, Only down side is 16GB soldered ram,but I refuse to pay $1000 more, wish there was 4070 model in US with 32GB Ram. Decent power usage on batter, ~12 watts wathcing videos. Plus I can have 2 SSD's. Was able to pull ~115 watts from 4070 in TimeSpy score ~12400. Not too bad for 4070. Fan were not any louder than the G14. OLED awesome!!

The device is solid! Initially I had doubts over 16GB ram, but the overall package is worth it. And I got a pretty good deal, around 1150$ (Open box), which is unreal. So far so good. Normal valorant sessions runs smoothly with 250 FPS avg. I love the display and keyboard of this. Haven't really tested the battery, i use it plugged all the time.

Great laptop all around, highly capable, only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating is the smaller 16GB RAM, a prior model had a 32GB RAM for around similar price. If you want to start getting into high end gaming laptops this one is definitely the choice!

So let me start by saying something good about this laptop. This laptop is very portable and lightweight. And that's all the good I have to say about it. Now, let's talk about performance. When I first took it out, the box and my eye lit up like a kid on Christmas, I thought to myself that this would be the best laptop I ever had. But boy, was I wrong. On the first boot to the start of Windows, it took about 25 to 30 minutes to set up. Doing the whole setup period, the fan roared loud as a hungry lion chasing a pack of zebras. Not to mention, the heat coming out of the bottom felt like I was in the middle of the Sahara desert. Well, at least my lap did. Ok, so I figured if I got a laptop cooling fan, I'd be ok. The first thing I always do when I get a new computer is download my security software. And this is where things start to go left. I noticed that when I opened the web browser, it was really slow compared to my old laptop. So, I decided to check for updates and proceed to download. So, after an hour or so, everything was up to date and ready to be tested. The results were failure. I have fiber internet, so normally it's pretty fast. I began to do speed test after speed test. The results were the same each time, slow. Needless to say, i returned the gaming turtle.

I really like this laptop. I have a few small complaints but overall it's exceptional. Some will say it's MacBook quality in a windows machine, I disagree. It's higher build quality than the MacBook air I use for work. What's better about it? Keyboard is better. Speakers are better. Screen is better. Battery life. this is one of my only gripes. I had a g14 with a ryzen chip prior to this. It got 12 hours of battery life streaming video. This laptop gets 6 when optimized for battery with Ghelper. That is still insanely good for a gaming laptop. Other notable things. The webcam is really good. The trackpad is perfect in size, position, and it feels good to use. I got this on sale and open box. I do find it a bit bizarre to still be selling machines with 16gb of ram, and I will also say the harddrive being a western digital nvme is not so fast to be perfectly honest.

*Take my review with a grain of salt because I bought the open box version in excellent condition* Pros of the Laptop: Screen: The screen is perfect for productivity and for games. 250HZ + oled looks beautiful and I've found myself watching all my content on my laptop instead of phone. Portability: The laptop is incredibly light and it has a very minimalistic exterior so it's very easy to carry it anywhere. Cons: Overheating: because of itslight weight, there is big problems with overheating. Even when I disable the GPU and put the fans on silent, it steals get hot and the fans spin when I'm just browsing the web with a couple tabs open. Battery life: I have 97% battery health and even when I charge it to 100% and use the most efficient savings I can only get around 4:30 minutes. This is a far cry form the 10 hours Asus say's it's capable of and I was extremely disappointed . Get this laptop if you are fine with carrying a charger anywhere and don't intend to play extremely intensive games.

Got a great deal with open box. Laptop now runs Windows and games very smoothly due to the RTX 4070. I've played: Age of Empires 4, 7 Days to Die, League of Legends, and other titles so far. The screen resolution is very high, so I turn it down to 1200p for gaming, on medium to high settings for my games. Laptop does exactly what I expect it to do. Set-up was a little laggy like most Windows laptops, but after setting up and using the laptop for some time, it now runs flawlessly. I used the ASUS Zephyrus "G Helper" App for system control. (Which I recommend other ASUS laptop owners can search up this app online.) The battery life is not bad. I would take your charger with you if you are playing a triple A title. Overall I am very happy with the price I paid, and this laptop.

It’s an amazing laptop with premium feel and build, the only things that sucks is the ventilation! The fans are kinda loud and i didnt even run any games on it yet! And then it heats up pretty quick since the vents are on the bottom flat and there is very minimal raise so forget about trying to use it in bed. and prolly have to keep it raised somehow. fans are good tho once it does it’s job, it cools the laptop well but couldve placed it better.

To get this level of performance from such a lightweight, highly appealing device I could not imagine a better laptop for this price range! OLED screen is remarkable and HDR functionality has every game I’m playing looking as good as ever! The 4070 has been working great at the native resolution and I can say that every title I have thrown at it, it’s producing fantastic results! I hope Asus sticks with this model and I will look to only upgrade to another when the time comes! 10/10!

Worst Purchase Ever – Defective ASUS ROG Zephyrus

Worst Purchase Ever – Defective ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 & No Support! I purchased the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 GU605MI from Best Buy Online on August 28, 2024, expecting a high-performance machine for my work. Instead, I got a defective, unreliable, overheating mess, and I deeply regret this purchase. I am a student in Artificial Intelligence, and I heavily rely on my laptop every single day for coding, research, and coursework. This laptop was supposed to last me at least three years, but instead, I’m fighting to keep it running after just a few months. Here’s why this laptop is a complete disaster Overheating & Loud Fans – Even with simple tasks, the laptop overheats like crazy, and the fans run at full speed all the time. It’s loud, distracting, and feels like it’s going to burn itself out. Red Tint on Display – The screen has developed a red tint, making it nearly impossible to work properly. A laptop at this price point should not have such basic hardware failures. Battery is Completely Useless – The battery barely lasts 2 hours, even when I’m just coding or browsing. For a laptop that’s marketed as portable, this is laughable. Constant Freezing & Lagging – This was supposed to be a high-performance machine, but it freezes, lags, and is incredibly slow. I need my laptop to be fast and responsive for my work, and this one can’t even handle basic tasks properly. GPU Won’t Activate for ML Work – Despite configuring everything correctly, the GPU refuses to engage for my machine learning programs. This is unacceptable, considering I bought this laptop for performance-heavy tasks. ASUS Support is a Joke – I reached out to ASUS customer service for hours and many phone calls, and their only response was to send the laptop for repair via FedEx, which would leave me without a laptop for weeks. That is NOT an option—I need my laptop every day for my coursework. Best Buy – I Need a Replacement, not a Repair! This laptop is still under warranty, but with all these issues, a repair is not a long-term solution. I need a full replacement because I can’t afford to deal with more failures down the line. I expected a top-tier machine, but instead, I got a faulty, overheating, lagging, unreliable mess. If Best Buy and ASUS don’t step up to fix this properly, I will never trust either brand again. If you’re a student or professional who depends on their laptop, do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS LAPTOP!

Solid computer although there are better ones now. The speakers are actually amazing, second only to the Macbook pro. Display is good for gaming but it’s not 4k so don’t expect to enjoy looking at your photos on it or anything like that. Oh and the battery life is trash so that’s kind of sad.

A Great Laptop, if Thermals Weren't Terrible.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Unfortunately this laptop suffers from heavy thermal throttling. Gpu thermals run around 84-86c (ambient room temp is 72 Fahrenheit), so the card will never reach full power. Cpu thermals are high 90's to 100c with turbo fan mode. Armory Crate isn't too bad, but I also tried G-Helper to see if I could fix the heat issues, but only at a substantial loss to framerate (again, throttling). Fan noise is fine even at higher rpms. Extremely hot to the touch above the keyboard, even when in "sleep" mode. Fans stay on in sleep?? I recommend using hibernate when closing the lid. Another big con is that the mouse track pad is way too big and your hand may periodically touch it, effecting your aim while gaming. 16gigs soldered ram is a non-issue. It has a high clock speed and hasn't had a noticeable effect on performance. (Maybe because it's not the bottleneck). Pros: -Great screen and color accurate, but I am concerned about longevity due to OLED. -Wonderful speakers (With a little tuning in Dolby Access) see attached photo for EQ adjustments. Overall, I would NOT recommend this laptop to anyone, and would return the laptop if I could. It is too expensive for what it has to offer, performance wise.

This is honestly one of the beat Asus products i've ever had. Funny that all my asus laptops are still working, including 2012 top with windows 7 on board. The only issue for me was 16gb ram on board, and since its not upgradeable, i decided to get ,zephyrus with 32gb of ram on board. Just becuse windows 11 takes about 50-to 60% of ram, once you load it with other apps, it gets closer to 80-90% of ram its just not acceptable for 2025. If you're looking to buy a new laptop for 3-5 years, definitely look for 32gb ram min.

This computer is excellent high speed performance although it does depend on the Wi-Fi speed you have. I bought this in December 2024 and I have not had a problem with it since nice size screen always keep it clean beautiful picture just on all excellent for people who are gamers Only a few times the computer had overheated so all we did was unplug it for an hour. I’m just plugged it right back in and everything was perfect. After that. I definitely recommend this computer to anyone.
