So I'll preface this by saying I purchased two of these routers, the first one was a dud, couldnt connect to wifi at all.. hardline connection worked but really what's the point, right? So after exchanging the defective unit for another one and setting it up, (which is a breeze with the Asus software) I ran a few speed tests and came up with the following information. With my netgear AC1750 (which this replaced) I was getting around 200Mbps next to the unit and around 24mbps upstairs. The Asus router instantly reached speeds in excess of 500Mbps at the unit and around 230Mbps upstairs! For reference I have a two story brick house about 2500sqft. I dont have any range extenders or a mesh network, this is JUST the router. At less then $200, this is by far the least expensive, fastest available solution I could find that perfectly fit my needs.

    FUTUREPROOF YOUR NETWORK

While it may look like "The Emperor's Shuttle" [Star Wars Reference], it is an amazing piece of hardware that provides versatility and scalability to my home and home office network. Bundled with connectivity and security features that blow the competition away. I matched this router with the NETGEAR Nighthawk CM2050V as my ISP includes voice in my internet package/configuration. My network speeds are 1420 Mbps download and almost 100 Mbps upload on average which surpasses the ISP hardware and I feel that I have more control over my network without needing to rely on tech support [eternal hold]. NETGEAR also offers network extenders which I may consider later for any dead spots in my home but thus far, it has not been necessary to consider that option. My main network runs on average 3 smart TVs, 4 laptops, multiple smartphones, and a PS5 without breaking a sweat and I haven't even employed the guest network yet. With the NETGEAR app on my smartphone, I can configure and monitor my network with ease while having peace of mind that it is secure. I highly recommend if you are building a home/home office network that you do your homework like I did but I am confident that every path will lead you back to this solution for your network needs. The bottom line is that I intensely dislike having to pay for something more than once and that is often the case with planned obsolescence. Technology changes but NETGEAR in my opinion has foreseen this by including support for both Wifi 5 and the newer Wifi 6 in this product. A year of ARMOR was also included as an added layer of security with the option to extend hardware and ARMOR coverage based on the consumers' needs.

Very pleased. It provides a strong, fast signal in our 2 story, 2400 sq ft house. We connect about 24 devices, but most are low consumption IoT devices like smart bulbs and switches. It handles our HDTV streaming and computer needs for our more data heavy clients without issue. We do not do any gaming. Configuration using the browser interface is great. Lots of detail from there or the mobile app to help you understand what's on your network, how it's performing and spot potential trouble. Security provided by TrendMicro seems to work well, and comes for the life of the router as I understand it. Simply stated, we are satisfied. I tried several options from the other name brands as well as mesh systems before settling on this router. I'm optimistic for long term use, we've only had it for about a month. But it's been a steady performer so far.

It could realistically be 5 stars but I haven’t owned it long enough so I’m going with 4 for the time being. Set up was pretty simple and I don’t seem to have any dead spots in my house which is awesome. I haven’t tested it very many times but the general speeds are noticeably better than my previous unit. It gives me the feeling I’m getting more bang for my buck from my ISP. I haven’t had any issues with several devices going at once which was an initial concern. I may be wrong but I believe the box said it also doubles as a modem so that could help make it worth the money as well. Definitely confirm that so you don’t have to go back and get one.

Bought this router to expand our Wi-Fi in the basement, Our modem is in the upper level and needed some help streaming in the basement. Love that you have access to the settings to the router via the app .Iset it to reboot twice a week keeping the signal strong and refreshed. Many routers unless unplugged every so often lose the strength over time .I talked to a couple of IT techs and they both recommended the ASUS Brand over many other units I had had in the past. We have 300 giga bytes streaming through the modem off of fiber optic. I have not tested this for total transfer efficiency, but streaming is flawless

Nice router, range is good. Being connected at the far end of our 3,500 sq ft house, it covers a good 85% without connection or buffering issues. Configuring it wasn't the most user friendly experience, like separating the the 2g and 5g wifi took a while to find. You can see threats that try to come through and you can set up a vpn. It has a lot of settings that my older netgear didn't have. Download and upload speeds were the same as if I was directly converted to the modem. Overall I it seems like a good router and gives me a better peace of mind as far as security purposes

I have 2 of these routers set as a mesh system in my home. I have a tri-level home that also has a basement so getting a reliable and fast connect throughout my house has proven difficult. I had a Google Mesh system with 3 pucks which did a decent job but couldn’t seem to handle my 1 GBPs internet connection. After some research I decided to try out a router with WiFi 6 capabilities and I do NOT regret it. With these 2 routers I consistently have 450 mbps speeds all throughout my house and anything connected with Ethernet (cat7 cable) gets above 700 mbps consistently. I have an insane amount of devices in my house and these routers handle it all with NO issues. Really happy with this purchase.

I purchased this Router to replace my cable company Wi-Fi 6 router (supposed to be latest and greatest) and don't have any regrets. If you want control of your router settings this Router has that. I have a Wi-Fi camera and had to use a extender with my old router with this router I get around 60% strength and no need for a extender plus the fact my cable company router only had 3 Ethernet ports so I would have had to use a switch to hook up my 4 devices or plug and unplug one of my devices.(Not Me) I would recommend this Router to anyone and Did I mention the speed is fantastic. Setup was a breeze. No Regrets at all.

Really good router with the quality you'd expect from Asus. I needed to replace my old Asus router after 5 years and wanted something less than $200 but good quality and signal strength. This didn't disappoint. We have a 3 story (including basement) home that is about 3000 sqft in total and this covers all corners of the house now in the 5.8ghz band. The old router would only do part of the house with 5.8 but the whole house with 2.4ghz. Wifi speeds are blazing fast also as I'm now getting about 400mbps down speed vs about 180mbps prior. I also connected my old router to it as a repeater for the upstairs for my daughter's rooms so they have strong wifi there also now. Highly recommend it and the app on the phone works great also.

Easy setup, pretty much plug and play by following the setup instructions. ASUS has a good online interface, which is easy for a basic user like me. It also has many customizable features which I don't need, but they are there for the power user. I am going to shout: CHANGE THE DEFAULT PASSWORD!!! UPDATE THE FIRMWARE NO LESS THAN MONTHLY!! Firmware updates are very easy to do through the interface. Bad guys are out there, and you need to do your part to protect yourself. I live in an apartment, so I cannot attest to the range, but online reviews give it good marks. This easily handles several laptops plus several phones at the same time without noticeable lag. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Works great! Tells me my current usage and how fast my internet is. Needed to get a new router that can identify speeds faster than 1g. Four ports on the back, the parental restriction is a plus. Fast easy set up, was online in less than ten minutes. Great range, does better than my old one. Can reach the shed over 100ft away.

I got this after getting a bad Netgear router and having to return it. Honestly I'm glad the Netgear broke the customer service was terrible when trying to trouble shoot the issue and just wasn't happy with the speed the brief 1 day that it did work. Now this ASUS router is just awesome great speed, easy hook up, and issue free, had us up and running in no time also gives me perfect signal when I'm outside of the house working on my vehicles which is great for Youtube and Spotify plus browsing the web if I need to. Definitely a great product!

Was looking for a replacement for my XR500 router that recently was having problems even after nightly reboots. This router had decent reviews and I felt confident in it. My newest laptop supports AX network connections. My laptop gets a 1.2 gbps connection now with this router. It also has a reboot schedule you can turn on which eliminates the need for me to use an outlet timer. Setup was easy and quick. I am getting just as good of range and speed as I did previously. I updated to the most recent firmware and downloaded the app. For the price on this model and thus far the quality, I would recommend it. Time will tell on how well it functions, but thus far all is good.

Forget that Linksys or Netgear even exists and get

I have had a frustrating few years with my home network. We moved into a large tri-level house and for logistical reasons my main router has to be in my basement office. So we had issues with some dead spots around the house on the middle floor and upstairs. Linksys had just put out their velop mesh system and although they were expensive I assumed it would work well. I was wrong those things were a nightmare. They would constantly reboot themselves and when the main one rebooted the client nodes oftentimes refused to reconnect without manual intervention. I bought a Linksys wireless router that had mesh capabilities thinking that if I replaced the main velop node with an actual router it would work better. I was wrong, the Linksys router would constantly reboot itself as well. So I switched to a Netgear Nighthawk router and Nighthawk range extender. I had some issues an issue getting the range extender to pair with the router but eventually I got it working and it was great for about 2 months only requiring reboots about once a week or once every other week which isn't that bad for wireless routers. But Netgear sent a firmware update and it ruined everything. The range extender would constantly lose connection to the 5 gigahertz Network. Even after rolling back to the previous firmware it was constantly dropping connection to the 5 gigahertz Network. Every single morning I would come downstairs and the 5 gigahertz light on the extender was off. Crazy frustrating. So I bought two of these Asus Routers and put one in normal router mode and the other in mesh node mode. It has been over two weeks and I haven't had a single connection issue. These things are bulletproof, the app is fantastic. Both the Linksys and the Netgear apps were awful. This is easily the best Wi-Fi router mesh system I have ever owned. And I would highly recommend this. I would recommend nobody ever Buy Linksys or Netgear again. Especially Netgear, they only offer tech support for 90 days. If you need help after that you have to pay for it or submit a warranty exchange. If you go the route of the warranty exchange they email you a code and give you twenty-four hours to call their tech support and give them that code. I waited on hold for 90 minutes two times within that 24 hour. And nobody ever answered the phone. After 24 hours if you don't call them and give them that code they cancel your request. Criminal

Bought this is a great rush in-store at my 7-year old Netgear died. After mixed experience with Netgear, was looking for something else. Setting up this router was a breeze, hooked it up in under 10 min, 5 of which were spend on re-drilling a hooking bolt for hanging the router on a wall. This is wifi 6 router, so those devices equipped with wifi 6 do see speed up. All ends of my house are well covered by the signal

This router was capable of extending the WiFi range and even increasing my speeds tremendously. Replacing the ISP provided two in one router/modem with this was a night and day difference. Setup is very straightforward, and everything can be monitored in a well put together app from ASUS. I pay for a 100 down and 20 up internet plan, but was only getting around 60 down and 12 up on my PC upstairs. By switching to WiFi 6 and getting a compatible wireless network card for my PC, I was able to get up to 120 down and 25 up.

I upgraded from a previous model of Asus Router because it was giving me some issues. I then fixed the issues on the previous router by installing the merlin firmware and was ready to return the new router as I didn't think it would provide much of an improvement but then I started doing speed tests between the two routers and I notice 20 MBPS differences in download between the two routers and I couldn't believe it. I disconnected and reconnected the routers 4 times to make sure the test where not just a result of temporary speed bumps and each time there was as significant difference. I even reached 95.2 Mbps on one of the test and I have a 100 Mbps line so that is really close to the max speed. with the previous router I was mostly under 60 Mbps. I decided to buy another Asus as I like the ease of use and how easy it is to setup a VPN with the Asus free DDNS address service. The new device also allows you to create mesh networks by connecting other compatible ASUS routers/extenders something I do not need in my small apartmewnt but you never no in the future...nice to have the option.

I got the AX3000 to replace a 5-6year old Linksys router that was on it's "last legs" and struggling to keep up with multiple devices. I have had the AX3000 for about a month now and have no major complaints. It seems to handle the 4 laptops, 2 phones, printer, game console, and TV pretty easily. We still have the occasional dropped signal on the laptops, but it's much better than the old router. Setting up the router online was very straightforward, including getting each device to recognize it. Range has not been an issue, as it was with our older router. We have a small, 2 bedroom apartment, but need an extender because the walls of our building cause some interference. All in all, a solid router for our needs.

Even though it costs more than your average router, it definitely pulls through with the reliability it brings. Every time I've had cable people install the routers, they always disconnected randomly, and I didn't get the promised speeds even through internet. This router delivers every single megabite of data, to every device that's wireless or not. It even comes with an app that allows you to see who's on your internet, how much data they're using, and you can decide what the router prioritizes first, be it streaming or gaming. Not to mention that it looks stylish to boot.
