After deciding that I wanted to bump up from 1440p to 4k for my productivity/gaming PC monitor, it quickly became apparent that my RTX 3080 12gb wasn’t going to cut it if I wanted over 100fps. My 3080 is a TUF and a very solid card that performed perfectly over the past year so when I saw that Best Buy had the TUF 4090 on sale for about $100 more than the founders edition and other $1600 cards, it became an easy decision. Great mostly metal design and build quality just like my 3080, plus minimal rgb. This card stays even cooler than my 3080 in my high airflow case. The price is obviously not very affordable for the masses, but for something that I get so much use out of, I was willing to spend the premium.

It’s the RTX 4090. Best graphics card in the world. However, this model is massive. This is a Cadillac Escalade-sized graphics card in a world meant for Toyota Camry’s. You will likely need to upgrade both your case and power supply accommodate this monster. Sadly, that further aggravates the $2000-dent this GPU is ripping from your wallet. Read specifications for your case. Get don’t bite off more than you can chew. May your frame rates be high and your temperature low.

Just an absolute unit of a GPU. Check your case to make sure it will fit!!!!!!! Works great, stays cool, very quiet. Just expensive.

Runs everything smooth. Easy to install. Feel super solid where other cards feel like cheap plastic.

Great performance. Stays cool. It is very big so plan on that. The power adapter is big and a cable management nightmare.

It does what it is supposed to do. I got it because it has two HDMI ports. This and the Strix 4090 are the only 4090 variants with 2x HDMI 2.1 ports. I needed this since I use two TVs hooked to my computer. I don't hear coil whine and the card looks solid. It is thick but so are most 4090s. Very expensive and not great value at all but I need the power for 4K gaming and VR gaming.

The ASUS Tuf 4090 has incredible power and even felt like a big upgrade over my 3080ti in terms of high refresh 4k gaming. However, I ended up returning it because as other have mentioned, the coil whine was very loud. I know this is common on higher-end 4090s due probably to the extra power draw, but I ended up ordering the air-cooled MSI Suprim X 4090 which also had coil whine but is not as bad. A slight undervolt almost made it go away entirely. Ultimately, as great as this card is, I don't think it's worth $200 over the FE or $100 over the Surpim X. BUT, if you do go with this model and have coil whine, I suggest a slight undervolt to reduce the coil whine to a more acceptable level.

Everything I have ever wanted out of a graphics card. Absolutely no compromises what so ever. I upgraded from a Asus TUF 3090 and this performs on average 1.5x better while running 10-20C cooler. If you want the best of the best buy it, you wont be disappointed.

Best thing i have ever bought, took 36 days of refreshing BB site to get one but i GOT IT. It rekts anything i throw at it, stays under 60C, has no coil whine and looks sick. The whole shell is made out of metal which is awesome.

This card hauls. I have 0 coil whine on my card. Every game I play runs at 120fps with max settings including RT. Worth every penny to me. Good card!

Not much to say other than THIS GPU IS A BEAST!! If it’s available and you have the $…buy it! Runs quiet and cool. Will play anything you throw at it with High FPS

Uh. Wow. Just wow!. This beast slays VR in MSFS 2020. I run a i9-10900KF @ 5.3 GHz and have issues with cpu bottlenecking but still getting much better FPS than the RTX 3090 FE this card replaces. Have a i9-13900KS on the way and will update this post with MSFS 2020 VR performance once I have the new rig built. Life is short buy this card and you won't regret it. It's OC out of box but it was easy to push the clock to >3000GHz and it ran cool <60 degrees Celsius. DLSS in VR was awesome. The resolution and LOD was beyond anything I experienced in the sim since it launched in 2020.

Finally got my hands on one of these after months of desperately trying to beat out bots for one and was excited to throw into my new rig. Did the install which was surprisingly painless, updated my Nvidia drivers and grabbed ASUS's own GPU Tweak III and excitedly launched straight into Warhammer 40k: Darktide and threw every setting to max, slammed on that RTX and DLSS, and was set to purge to my heart's content... Only to be met by the WORST coil whine I have ever experienced, and that's saying something having previously interned as a technician at a computer repair center. Started looking into it way more, only to discover many a thread that point to the issue being decently widespread. This, of course, came as quite the surprise to me as it's very much NOT an issue for the 4090 Founder's Edition. Even with the panels of the computer case removed, any coil whine, even under max load running the same game and settings, is seemingly inaudible. Now, at the end of the day, it might not be an issue for some people, maybe even most. If you have your fans running max at all times, wear headphones or listen to music while gaming, or are happy to kneecap it's performance (Why even get a 4090 at that point?) you'll *probably* be okay. However, for being an inch away from $2,000 (w/ tax) while the $1,700 (w/ tax) competitors, including the card directly from Nvidia itself, have little to no problem with it? Yeah, that's a deal breaker for me.

Dear VonH,
We do understand your concern about coil whine and the inconvenience this may have caused.
Coil whine is common with high-performance video card. To reduce the noise, please reconfigure your game and video settings without compromising video quality or resolution.

Say no more ... the only card worth buying in 2023 .. i did many overtime hours for this and got it finally... but seriously tho, if you do want to get a 40 series , HONESTLY!!.. the 4090 its worth the price for performance in 2023.. also the 4070 ... other than these two card on Nnvidia side... NOT worth buying and wait for the 50 series instead .. or go AMD.. also good for the money ... i just gotta have nvidia for work purposes ... AMD Is a good a buy such as the 6800xt 16 gigs tho for all gamers right now in 2023..

The 4090 is blazing fast! The build quality of the ASUS tuf products are always amazing. One thing I’d recommend if you are buying this is to measure to confirm it will fit in your case! This card is huge.

Installed the card and I was originally disappointed with the performance (small improvement over my 3080 at 1440). I ran a few benchmarks and with my 3080 I was 99% bound on my gpu and with the 4090 I was 89% bound on my cpu. Upgraded from the Amd 5800x to the 5800x3d and it’s now heads and shoulder above what the 3080 could do. EXCELLENT CARD!! I would highly recommend. Most gpus are overpriced imo right now but if you want a fantastic graphics card….look no further

I have owned the 4090 for almost a year and it is still going strong. I have been able to use it for some of my favorite games like alan wake 2 and cyberpunk 2077. Overall it is a very good graphics card

OMG! That's my review. Soooo smooth and quiet. Super quiet pc and case fans are way louder and I haven't even put the side panel back on yet. Very important note here. After install, Sony Bravia TV display was corrupted. I thought oh no, a bad gpu, but it is the driver. Quick search showed several other people (both different cards and different tv type displays), having a display issues. Uninstalled latest driver and installed Nvidia driver 526.47 instead (which seems to be the last not suffering this issue).

It is huge, but works flawlessly. I don't turn on DLSS or FSR in games for 4k anymore, this just brute forces them to 60fps flawlessly.
