I couldn't get better than 20% packet loss with this thing. My laptop sitting right next to it works great so it's not an issue with my wifi. Definitely go with something else. I tried reinstalling their driver, switching USB ports, etc. Nothing works. It's just a bad adapter.

Dear Brandon,
It's unfortunate to hear that you are losing packets. This is not the kind of experience we want any of our customers to have. Are you experiencing the same issue on both bandwidths (2.4Ghz / 5Ghz)? Please ensure to keep adapter away from Wi-Fi devices with 802.11g or 20MHz only, 2.4GHz computer peripherals, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, transmitters, heavy-duty motors, fluorescent lights, microwave ovens, refrigerators, and other industrial equipment to prevent signal interference or loss. For further troubleshooting, feel free to reach out to me at customerloyalty@asus.com and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Your feedback is important as it helps with improvements to ASUS Support channels.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Asus's wireless products have been very good to me. I have had two of their 360 degree wireless routers (One I got for my parents, the other served me for two years before I gave it to a friend and it still runs). I am amazed because my father's wireless was outdated and had no 5G capabilities and this gave it to him. Range is no longer and his house is a bit larger than the average...and the wifi is at the far end of the house from where he sits. On my Lenovo Y510P the 2.4Ghz WiFi it had in it does not work well in apartment complexes so I needed 5Ghz and this works great. Downloading GTA V on Steam I was getting 13mbps to 15mpbs. Connection has been rock solid. It's small size means that if you forget it is in the laptop and say walk around with it you don't end up doing what I did to my other Asus Adapter (door frame + USB Wireless = sadness). Great value for money, great product, easy setup.

I have 2 of these now. That shows how good they are to me. I needed a networking solution to a computer that controls a CNC router in my shop. I didn't want a LAN cord hanging from the ceiling so I decided to go wireless. Although this is installed almost direct line of site to the router, it's 70' away and the building is made of metal. I haven't had any dropouts at all, and every time I need to connect, it's just there! I bought a second one to put in a laptop that I'm running Windows 8 Pro on that I couldn't find drivers for the internal WIFI card. Really simple install, great speed and great connectivity. And since it's micro sized, you can leave it installed all of the time.

This is a great device that picks up a strong signal. It installed right away with no issues. It is very small and only sticks out a bit. I got this to replace my old Wi-Fi card that is no longer supported by Win 10. However, this little guy is and is great. No signal loss and I've always had a strong signal with it. Would highly recommend it for a PC or a laptop.

Limited range is to be expected on nano sized USB WiFi devices. Their antennas are very very small. That being said, the updated driver from the manufacturers Web site increased its performance dramatically over the driver provided on the cd. This unit also worked fine on USB 2.0. It's a fast and easy upgrade to ac wifi. Just don't expect it to get a signal if your going thru a bunch of walls.

This item is super easy to install, the disk does everything for you. Its so small it can be plugged in to any usb port & forgotten about. Can leave it plugged and not worry about it getting im the way of anything, or take it out and store when not using it. This item picks up both 2.4 & 5 ghz frequencies which is super nice if you have a lot of Wi-Fi traffic. It picks up & holds the signal well. The packaging was a small simple box (easily disposed of) that contains the adapter and 1 disk and a small set of instructions. I highly recommend this to anyone needing to add Wi-Fi to a device or even an old device that only picks up the 2.4 ghz. With this item I didnt have to buy a new upgraded drive, I was able to. It this much cheaper alternative and recieve fabulous effects.

Achieve blazing online speeds with this ASUS NANO wireless adapter. It offers selectable 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for a clearer signal, and its built-in 2x2 patch antennas increase the signal's range for better network coverage. This ASUS NANO wireless adapter includes a clip to attach it to notebook computers and a cradle with a long USB cord for desktop use.

My desktop has been air gapped for over five years. There was a lightning strike almost in the back yard, lost my NIC and a 46" TV. My wife developed a need for a bluetooth dongle, so we bought both items together. Popped the setup disc into the tray, ran the application, plugged in the new wifi adapter, back on the internet! During the setup, it saw both bands AND some other signals I haven't seen on our other devices! As the computer is slightly out of date, still running Win 7 Pro, it's doing well!

This is the smallest wireless adapter I could find and it served me well. My old work computer tower did not have a wireless card and I wanted an inexpensive add-on so I could set up my home office wherever I wanted (only one cable jack, in my living room). I had no issues whether on the same floor or one above or below my router/modem (typical wood frame construction). Maybe the ones with antenna(s) on them would be needed for thicker walls of other materials or longer distances but this is so small you can leave it plugged in all the time (just don't lose it!).

Purchased to replace my older large asus wifi adapter that ive had for about 4+ years. It still worked but speeds werent the greatest, occassionally disconnected, and was rather large. Didnt really need one as i typically run LAN but went to friends house with my pc and didnt have cable to connect so picked this up for $30. Speeds are legitmately as good as running hardwired and connected instantly. Also love how small the usb adapter is. Have it plugged into my usb 3.0 expansion card and had 0 issues getting it up and running. Drivers were easy to find and download. Very happy with this. Coukd be very easy to lose so recommend keeping it plugged at all times

It actually has decent range just not what I was looking for for where I am at. Lower floor below the router. But this little thing was good for what it did. I didn’t have full bars but even at 3 out of 4 bars I was getting 17 MBS download and 69-150 ms latency/Ping depending who was all on the WiFi. It would be good for someone who wants to eliminate a cord on the same level or above the router. I was playing World of Warcraft and actions did have input lag here and there but not all the time. The one I just bought to replace this which has more range is more for what I need, but it’s 15 bucks more. This new one was not as easy to install as the ASUS. The Asus one was a breeze to setup with no issues. Make sure to use the disk first before plugging in it will install the high speed settings. It can work right out of the box just plug in on Windows 10 but if I remember correctly it didn’t have as good as a connection because of limited drivers. I would recommend this if you’re trying to save a little cash and were using this for casual gaming or web browsing, YouTube, Netflix etc. I would say try it and if it doesn’t meet your expectations you can always turn return it within 14 days of purchase I believe.

Hey Guys, I bought this product for my girlfriends PC, she games on the same network I do and we both play seamlessly. It works wonderful and achieves the speeds described, however it leaves a few thing desired! The speeds are great, size, and price is all great, the connectivity is slightly finicky. It works great for weeks/months then out of no where will drop connection. Then she has to unplug it and re-plug it in. Not the end of the world but definitely not desired. Usually does this 2-3 times before returning to normal operation. Overall i'd give this a 4.5/5 star review. -IceDelnorte

Purchased this when an older PC starting chronically dropping and stalling on our WiFi network. It was a choice between something like this and a new network card. That ended up being an easy decision. This was substantially less expensive than a new network card and way easier to install! Works flawlessly and brought the 5GHz network to the older computer that did not have 5GHz with speeds that match a newer computer I have (that gets every bit of what I'm promised by my ISP). Overall a great choice in a small package!

Bought this because my laptop's internal adapter slowed way down. I move the laptop a lot and wanted something that wouldn't stick out. Solved my problem. Speed tests showed that this adapter was a decent amount faster that my internal adapter when I first bought the laptop but that's going from memory so I can't be sure. However, the range is way worse than my internal ever was. I didn't take off a star for that because I figured it was too small to have much of an antenna. Overall I'm happy with the purchase due to size, price and expected performance.

My desktop had built in wifi when I brought it which was a nice perk in my opinion. But maybe after a year it suddenly just stopped connecting and wouldn’t work no matter what I did to fix its internal networking issues. Thankfully this little plug in did the job perfectly, without taking up a lot of space and giving me fast speeds! It was simply plug n play. No fuss. Not much more you can say about it.

The ASUS Dual-Band AC1200 USB Network Adapter is a great solution for boosting Wi-Fi performance. Setup was fast — just plug it in and install the driver, and it’s ready to go. Speeds are strong and consistent on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, and the connection stays stable even when moving around the house. It’s compact, lightweight, and doesn’t block nearby USB ports. Perfect for upgrading an older laptop or desktop that needs faster and more reliable wireless connectivity!
