We are a very low tech family and this is our first laptop. Needed something for our daughter for pre-K learning through NTI. Also storage for photos and basic use. So far it has exceeded our expectations. However I took off one star because the keyboard is difficult to see in just dim lighting. It’s silver and the lettering is just a darker silver. Would’ve been super nice for it to have at least had black or darker lettering. Wish it had a backlight also. Set up was a breeze. Still learning the system. Other than that it’s a nice little laptop.

For the price, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it’s actually not a bad laptop at all. Light weight. Good speed. Not a great battery life, but otherwise a worthwhile purchase.

Bought for my daughter to play SIMS on while she recovered from surgery and she loves it! It's just right for her needs and it was a good price, too

Excellent laptop, fast, sleek and not too heavy. Good value, only wish the keys were labeled darker so easier to id

I have been pretty happy with this laptop. If you are on a budget and can live with a few compromises, this ASUS will do for light to medium use. There are a few caveats that one should be aware of, though. The case is all plastic, but I wasn't very happy with the all-metal case that my last laptop had. The keyboard is good, though the numeric keypad on the right isn't as useful as it could be because it has a weird layout. I thought the power button being in the top-right corner was going to be a bother, but it actually requires a little more force to press to prevent accidental use. The trackpad is good sized and offset to the left slightly so it stays out of the way as you type. I like the thin bezels on the screen. It is also a matte so you aren't looking into a mirror. On the downside, it could be a little brighter, though that could be due to it being a matte. I was a little concerned about performance; 8GB is enough for basic Windows use (PROTIP: Never buy a Windows laptop with 4GB of RAM) but 2GB is taken off the top by the on-board video chip so you effectively have 6GB available. This has not been a problem. I only use it for web browsing and Microsoft Office so I'm not pushing it very hard. The SSD and Ryzen 5 CPU under the hood feel perform well, it boots quickly and handles basic tasks great. One of the two 4GB memory modules is supposed to be replaceable, but I haven't seen a need to bump up the memory as of yet. If you are looking for a good laptop for basic web and Office use and don't want to break the bank, this will do well. Folks running memory-hungry software or gamers might want to spend a few more dollars.

I wish the keyboard was backlit!! That would literally make this a 5 star PC. I dislike the lack of intuitve processing you get with Windows (in comparison to Apple), but I needed a laptop stat that wouldn't cost me near $1000 in a pinch. Thank goodness I got it on sale. I like the graphics card to play The Sims 4 via Origin, definitely get a mouse if you intend to game with it. Love the soft matte display and 10 key for creating spreadsheets.

Pros ====== +Nice and light. +Good screen size +Slim and minimalistic +Enough power to use normal windows and not Windows 10s +Quick while processing light to moderate workloads +Performs all tasks at least to fair standards -------- Cons ====== -Screen does feel like the cheepest (major) part but 1080p should be enough for most people -Speakers have cheap sound quality and have distorted sound above 70% volume -Would only ask for a stronger CPU

My husband loves his lap top! He takes it everywhere and uses it for his movies, sports and all things coach related that he needs.

It's decent. I use this machine for schoolwork and some gaming. I managed to get CS:GO running at 80 fps average and Valorant at 70 fps. Other more demanding games like GTA ran at 40 fps at 1024x768 (which I normally play on). This laptop can handle some light gaming and is pretty fast. Installing the radeon software also can improve fps and make your pc faster. Even without gaming, this pc reaches around 70 degrees pretty fast.

Great laptop for the money. Plenty of storage and much faster than my old laptop.

Purchased this computer for my granddaughter who began her college career recently. Although she is not attending classes on campus, she has elected to participate in distant learning because of Covid-19. This is sad. to make her feel good, regardless of situation I purchased tis coputer for her. She loves it. It has all she need to do the work expected of her on line. Most important she feels valued to have received a new computer and guess what, It was on sale for a good price. No need to look back, right decision.

It was hard to find a computer due to so many children in remote learning, but I was able to find this one at Best Buy, and after a little research about the Ryzen Processor, I decided it was definitely worth a try. You won't regret it! If the stores are out of Intel processors, get the Ryzen 5. Actually, you can buy this one with complete confidence in its ability. It is fast!. And it is a good looking laptop on top of that. No backlit keyboard, if that is important to you, but we did not mind at all.

Decent performance and lightweight. The reason I only give it three stars is that the keyboard's characters are much too light, almost blending in with the color of the key. So it's difficult to see them in most instances/lighting. Very annoying and disappointing. I had to buy keyboard key stickers and apply them to each key.

Works great, fast. Only drawback is the keyboard is hard to see in dim light setting. Keys are lightly marked.

No serious issue so far. However, there is some discomfort because of the screen resolution and the touchpad. The screen looked like it has a thin film on top of it that doesn't give a sharp view. I can't adjust the screen's hue/saturation to make words and images appear clearer. Adjusting brightness can't help this issue, the only way I could make it a bit better is to turn on night light mode to enhance contrast. The touchpad is not quite responsive. It happens a lot when the mouse doesn't move in the same directions as my fingers', and this is bothersome the most when I drag and drop things. The keyboard is not shown clearly when you're lying and place the laptop on your belly. So try to sit up when using your lap. This is not a problem worth complaining about if you can type without looking at the keyboard. One last thing, the screen used to be blackout for a quick moment when I use Alt + Tab to switch between tabs, but this issue seems gone after a few updates.
