    I need a good laptop to start learning how to code and use it for my masters program. I was recommended this laptop by a best buy employee and am really loving it.

    Crappy cheap laptop that overheat easily.

    This unit overheat easily. I put Windows 11 Home and turn off most of fancy features. During idle, the processor load range 3-5% and CPU temperature (as registered by MyAsus app.) range 45 - 55C. However, as soon as I start Google Meeting with video & audio (no presentation), the processor load easily jumps to 30% and the CPU temperature reach 70-80 C. With some extra background app. running, the processor load reach 45-55% and the CPU temperature easily reach 95 C. Within 1 min. at this situation the safeguard kicked in and hibernate the system. If I disable the hibernation, then the system will just be abruptly turned off (potentially causing file system corruption). This means, you can't ever use the CPU over 60% more than 1 min.

      We do understand your concern about thermal issues. It is normal for laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during initial WINDOWS setup and Update. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. If the temperature is high even in idle mode, check in the Task Manager and disable any resource-hungry applications, processes or services not being used and are running in the background. These will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. Additionally, ensure Windows, drivers, BIOS and applications are updated and not corrupted.     This is a wonderful PC to get if you’re on a budget all the specs on it are absolutely on point. However the camera quality is not that great.

    Pretie unique and light, a really good quality on the laptop and good texture on all the frame something unique that only asus can have and give to the customer.

    Terrible compatibility with various docks and dongles. Frequently goes to sleep on its own, unprompted. I have purchased 4 of these laptops and have experienced these issues with all of them.

      We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing compatibility issues with various dock and dongles and this laptop goes to sleep on its own. To resolve the compatibility issue, ensure Windows, chipset driver and BIOS are up to date. Additionally, ensure the docks and dongles are working properly. To stop this laptop from going into sleep mode, adjust the Power & Sleep Settings inside Settings > System > Power & battery > Screen and sleep. Change the "Make my device sleep after" options to Never for both "On battery power" and "When plugged in" to see if this stops the unprompted sleep.

    Had this laptop shipped to me. At first everything seemed ok though it was running a little slower than I expected for its CPU and RAM. The second day of using it, it randomly started shutting down and running its fans at max speed, even though the temperature was normal. This was super inconvenient, so I returned it immediately. Day 2 already having such a large issue is a one star by me.

    Dead on Arrival. Let it charge for all night and day and next night (the outlet works just fine). The laptop would not power up, even plugged in to an outlet. I am just glad I didn't need this thing for anything more than personal use. Returning and going to baby my Window 10 Lenovo along for a while longer. I have reservations about Windows 11, will hold off as long as I can with replacing my W10s. At least I never had issues returning anything to Best Buy, the staff at the local store has always been friendly enough. I just hate the hour drive to get there.

    Random Restarts, Sham Warranty

    Machine has randomly restarted windows when using it, even after general and BIOS updates. Asus warranty doesn't cover it unless it goes to Geek Squad. Geek Squad wont even look at it unless you're a member or cough up well over $100. Asus warranty is a sham, and would never get another Asus product at best buy of any model
