The ASUS brand has been very dependable, The last one that I purchased lasted far longer than the other brands that I had previously purchased. The only reason that I had to replace it was a few sticky keys. The only drawback on this new one is that I didn't realize that it wasn't a touchscreen and I do miss that. All-in-all, ASUS is a very good brand,

I've owned this laptop for about a year and a few months, here's the pros and cons of this laptop that I've noticed so far.
Pros:
Great RAM memory
Good processor and integrated graphics for work and really light gaming
Good fingerprint scanner
Great storage
Built-in webcam privacy cover
Cons:
Keyboard was squeaky on D key from day 1
Screen is matte so scratches are very visible when they happen.
Body line between the touch-pad and the keyboard presses up against the screen while being carried around in a bag, which damages the screen and causes a giant line which is visible while the screen is off and on low brightness.
Cheap build quality (I can twist the laptop easily with my bare hands) + the screen bezels came loose after a few months.
Not usable while on lap (what but it's a laptop?) The touch-pad gets stuck down while you try to use it while resting it on your knee.
An absolute fingerprint magnet, no the fingerprints do not come off easily, even with a cleaner and a rag. If you do try to clean it then you'll end up pressing down on the screen more and damaging it.
Soldered RAM memory
Horrific webcam (makes your skin look smooth though)
CONCLUSION + small issues
Another small problem not enough to be a con is that there's no touch screen, not an issue for me and most. Yet, some people always ask "is it a touch screen??" while dragging their fingers all over the screen and leaving prints. (which are hard to wipe off due to the matte texture)
In conclusion, I think this laptop was sabotaged with it's build quality, it's got pretty good specs and parts, but good God the flimsy plastic body is NOT it.
Personally I'd bite the bullet and just get a macbook air for like an extra $150. OR buy a used macbook or thinkpad, just anything but this.

This laptop is one of the best Asus products I have purchased. It has the large screen, the keypad, and is still light weight. Definitely worth the price!

My custom built 17 inch laptop died and I was looking for a suitable replacement. After doing my research I decided on the Asus Vivobook 16. It's lighter and faster and the display is crisp and bright. It was very easy to setup and start using right out of the box. Geek Squad did the data transfer and it's running all my apps perfectly

I am very pleased with my new ASUS Vivibook 16 because it has all the features I was looking for: screen size, lighted keyboard, 1 TB SSD, 3 USB outlets, and AMD Ryzen 7. All that I was lloking for at a reasonable price and good availability. I also picked ASUS laptop because it has a full-sixed hinge, compared with small hinges which broke on my previuos HP laptop.

Can’t believe I waited as long as I did to purchase this. I wish I could get paid for all the waiting I did while my old pc booted up. This machine is lightning fast and real easy to use. I’m very happy with my choice.

Really good laptop; whether it's used for casual everyday use such as web browsing, checking/sending emails, online courses, etc. to online video streaming and gaming, this laptop delivers really good performance and has a nice range of available features. The user interface is really easy to navigate. Best of all, this laptop is super affordable if you don't want to make a mortgage payment just to get a laptop.

Works great so far. We will see what the future brings. The last computer i bought broke and i was told by geek squad i would have to conyact the manufacturer because the fans were not hooked up whenni bought it. But now im out 3000 dollars. I will keep you updated on how this goes after 6 months of ownership and use.

Christmas present for my wife to replace her very slow old Lenovo. This ASUS Vivobook with the AMD Ryzen 7 is very fast with a beautiful large 16" screen. Best part was the ASUS set up that started when the laptop was first started. I thought that I would need to use my Geek Squad membership to have all the data and apps from the old machine moved over to the new one but the ASUS start up walked me through all the steps needed and we were up and running with everything set up in about 30 minutes. Great experience!!
