    Overall Decent to Great Quality

This laptop is perfect for me and overall a decent mid-range laptop. - Display: The display is fine; not great but also not bad! The resolution is decent for watching things like 1080p Youtube videos. Although, I will say that when I first got my Vivobook I was concerned because I noticed that the contrast on Youtube videos was too high, plus it was overall a bit off. I found a solution to this, though, by using the MyASUS App to alter the colors & settings. I did not know that that app existed, so I was pleasantly surprised. The screen itself has a matte finish that I like because the glare of the sun doesn't cause unwanted reflections unlike my previous glass screen laptop. The viewing angles are okay. Lastly, the screen gets pretty bright. I have nothing great to compare it to, though, since my previous laptop was around 250-300 nitts anyway. - RAM: It has more memory than my last computer (8gb vs 12gb) which definitely makes a difference for someone like me who always has at least 6+ tabs & 2 windows open. Also, it doesn't seem slow at least to me. - Keyboard & Trackpad: The keyboard feels great to me. Has a good springy-ness to it and doesn't feel cheap. It is also spaced out well *for the most part*. However, the number pad on the right is way too small which discourages me from using it. Lastly, the arrow keys are very small which discourages me to use those as well. The touchpad also is decent. Feels smooth and mostly responsive, with it responding a bit slow every now and then. Also, there was this weird thing where if you clicked the bottom of the touchpad to do a left click, it would act as a right click. Very odd, but hasn't happened in a couple days so maybe I just needed to update some stuff. - CPU: The AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS works almost perfectly! I don't do demanding tasks on my laptop such as 3D modelling, coding, or play AAA games, so it works amazingly for my simpler tasks. What I can attest to is it being able to load my 80+ page Word Document and copy & paste 1000+ cells into Excell very quickly lol. Plus, I usually have 2 windows open. On the off times that it works very slowly, I hesitate to blame it on the CPU because my wifi in general sucks and I'm often using browser apps. ;P - Chassis: The build quality is decent. It doesn't feel like it's going to break and actually feels quite sturdy, BUT I did accidentally knee the left side of the display hinge and it detached slightly... thankfully it was an easy push-back-together fix, but I briefly worried that I already broke my new laptop haha. So, my guess is that overall it won't stop working if you drop it, but try your best not to because the chassis is still plastic - and not as durable as Lenovo's. I worry the most about the hinge! Lastly, this laptop is a behemoth at 16", so be aware that it may not fit in your school bag. - Camera & Microphone: The cameras pretty good. Decent quality image for a laptop. (Laptop cameras in general are not the best so I won't fault this Vivobook's grainy quality. In fact, it might be a little better than my Lenovo Ideapad 14IAU7's, but I'm not sure and can't check.) The mic isn't that good, but it gets the job done for any Zoom meeting. You'll sound a little crunchy, but they'll be able to understand you just fine. - Speakers: Lastly, the speakers sometimes work very well and other times are just awful. I believe this is mostly dependent on the video's audio quality, but the speakers also just don't get very loud when you need them to be. Add this to the fact that they are on the bottom of the laptop, and it makes it even worse because you then have to lift the laptop to hear quiet videos. So, the speakers don't get very loud and personally I don't like the placement. Besides this, the sound quality is alright. It doesn't sound too tinny and the bass is decent, at least to me. Sound works on left, right, and can come through in the middle (I think? I'm not great at speaker review). - Battery & Charging: The battery lasts a lot longer than I expected! I saw other reviews on here saying theirs only lasted 2-3 hours which scared me, but I can say that my battery lasted about 6+ hours of near-constant usage on LOW brightness. So, if you're the type of person that does full brightness, it'll probably only last the reported 4 hours. The good thing is that it charges very quickly! Unfortunately, I didn't time how long it typically takes before writing this review. Lastly, the charger is in two parts, with the middle having this 3"x3" length & 1" wide cube. So, that part is bulky. But personally I prefer that this part is bulky and have the actual plugin that connects to the outlet be a regular 1" 3-pronged plug. The charger is also very long which is great. In summary, the Vivobook 16 is a real catch on sale and I can attest that it works perfectly for light college work. Some things such as the speakers may be sub-par, but nothing is outright bad. I would highly recommend buying this *on Sale* (below $700)

Meets my everyday purposes quite well

First up it's a pretty decent machine for everyday use (non-working purposes). Haven't really tried to leverage the graphical power of the machine yet (whatever it might be), but otherwise a very good machine with good boot speed and response times. It's also very handy, lightweight and pretty easy to carry around when traveling (very convenient especially for flights & airports instead of using a tab - including the charger). Pros: - Lightweight and fast enough to run multiple browser tabs and windows at the same time (majority of my use) - Application start-up and system boot times are pretty good for a Windows machine (I know! :)) - Holds charge quite well (probably 2-3 hours even with good usage level) Things I'm not a fan of: - The body is pretty flimsy (fully plastic and opening the lid can be a bit of an ordeal sometimes initially if you're used to other sturdy machines). But if we think about the ease of carrying it around, it makes sense to me that it's designed this way. You need to make sure to consider this point depending on the nature of usage. - Keyboard seems a little outside of my expectations for a 16 inch display/tray. Especially with how the ' . ' and 'Del' keys have been swapped and the lack of Num /Caps Lock indicator LED on the tray (it's hidden somwhere on the side for no clear reason). - Despite above cons, this might have been a great laptop if it was touch screen..falls a bit short of expectations here too.

I’ve had the laptop for 7 months now. Using it for gaming/ entry level coding . It works amazing for what I require , loads quick and has plenty of storage. It is very lightweight and thing, making it easy to take almost anywhere. The battery life last forever aswell for coding and gaming most computers drain the battery. I can make a full day of heavy usage before needing a charge. I would definitely recommend this computer for anyone wanting a reliable laptop that can run multiple task with no issues.

I tend to wait a long time between buying a new computer. I wanted something a bit more portable and the few old laptops lying around were too ancient and slow. I got this on a special deal so it was quite the savings. I've been quite happy with it. I'm typing on it now with my Bluetooth keyboard and use it as my primary computer. I have it connected to a 43-inch TV mounted on the wall. I use it way too much for YouTube. I also do some photo editing on it. One reason my old machine was getting a bit slow. All my DSLR and Mirrorless cameras are in the 20-24 mp range, so running Lightroom and other editing programs run fine. I also use it with LibreOffice and it does all the office-type work I need to do. One other reason I wanted a laptop was for use with Amateur Radio. I haven't yet, but I'll be connecting it via DigiRig to one of my Ham radios for doing JS8Call, Winlink, and the like. So portable is needed for field operations. I unplug it now and then to flex the battery. If I don't, it will eventually tell me I've been plugged in too long. Then I forget to plug it back in until many hours later it tells me the battery is low. I stream a lot on it so I've been happy with battery life so far. As others have noted, it does not have a backlit keyboard. Not really a problem for me, though it would be nice. If I really need that I'll use one of those little USB bendable lights and plug it into the left side USB 2 port to throw some light. It boots fast and I haven't cussed it once so far. I still have my old desktop and monitor and will eventually make a peer-to-peer network. Oh yeah, I would have liked to have an ethernet port on it to make things easier, but they make adapters and it keeps the machine slim. Not a deal-breaker. All in all. I am quite pleased with it. It gets used everyday and for hours a day.

Well worth the price I bought it for. Runs Firefox, Spotify, Steam/basic steam games , etc. without an issue. Comes with Windows 11 on S mode. S mode sucks, but if you know how to navigate settings and click big buttons it's completely manageable. The extra 4gb really counts, since Windows and background processes eat up your memory. Wouldn't reccomend for gamers since the intergrated graphics is pretty basic, but that is to be expected. Storage is a bit on the light side but worst scenario you can store your documents and photos in the cloud. The laptop itself is a bit bulky at 16 inch screen-size, and I have trouble fitting it in the laptop bag I got, however it's lighter than expected due to materials the casing is made of.

Happy with purchase, boots up quickly, runs smooth and surprisingly quick for what it is. I make custom T shirts and it works great for that. It’s very quiet and runs cool. I wish it had a lit keyboard but I knew it didn’t before I purchased , battery has good life

The AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800HS processor has 8 CPU cores, a base clock speed of 2.8Ghz & 8 GPU cores. As an IT professional and release manager for top companies I was happy to get a computer that can survive my multiple windows and data needs, but it did without locking or freezing up. Because each CPU core can perform operations separately from the others. Windows also allows you to manually allocate CPU cores to a program. This is done through the Task Manager.

An amazing laptop with great performance,12 gigs of ram ,the screen is clear and crisp and the overall overall functionality is superb. I highly recommend this laptop for work and school, can even be used for casual gameplay. Overall, aesthetically pleasing, my only complaint is the the battery life. The cooling fan system is quiet, and the possibility for upgrades, specifically , the ram is very easy to access.

The color is beautiful and the size is perfect! I got this instead of another thinking it’d hold me until I got another one but, I’ve had it for almost a year and it’s still powerful. The battery life is really good for what you can do, though the more tabs you have open it can slow the processor and affect the quality of your battery so it’s best to switch to eco. The keyboard is big enough and the keys are still functioning properly. I’ve dropped it by accident a couple times and there’s no scratches or damage anywhere. When it gets warm it doesn’t overheat and the fan is low so you barely notice it. I had trouble pairing to my epson printer but, I figured it out. Once you switch out of the game version of the laptop you are not allowed to go back at all so maybe not an all in one office, streaming and gaming laptop. Although, you still have play store apps through google and can access Xbox services through it. Overall it’s a great computer and would highly recommend to people who want a computer that can function without having to spend a ton of money!

this laptop has been great for my engineering and programming classes! it runs the programs i need it to and does so quickly. i upgraded to 24gb ram very easily and upgraded the hard drive. the only thing that keeps this laptop from being 5 stars is the low battery life. i have to keep it plugged in when running programs, and occasional games, because it dies very quickly.

Received the Vivobook today as a replacement of the MacBook Air 2020 after it decided to give out. 4 hours owning it so far and safe to say I am very happy with the purchase! As of when we purchased, we were saving $330.00, so the laptop total was only $440.32, and it is much better than the Mac. Battery life would be about 4 stars, it just goes quick in my opinion. Keyboard feels excellent along with the trackpad, and the speed is amazing! Definitely a GREAT purchase!

Ive been using this vivobook non stop since i bought it and it is a very impressive machine for the price. I was on a little bit of a budget so i was worried it would handle the work load but it does. I ask a lot out of it with all the 3d printing software and slicers but it takes multiple high end programs at once. I would rrcommend it even though there more expensive laptops with faster processors.
