I chose this laptop because of the screen. It's not easy finding a laptop with a good screen in the $500 price range. I had originally purchased the Intel 12th gen Asus Zenbook 14 (which was also on sale for $500 a few weeks back) with the same screen, but I didn't like how flimsy that one felt and it ran hot with poor battery life. This Vivobook runs cooler and the battery life is better.
The i5-1240P in the Zenbook is faster than the i5-11300H in the Vivobook but with both of these laptops capped at 8GB of ram, there are very few tasks you could do where you would notice a difference. After using both I personally didn't notice any difference between the two. Also this OLED screen doesn't use PWM above 60% brightness which is great as well. For a long time OLED laptops were always using PWM for brightness control which can give some people headaches.
Overall I think this is a good laptop for the price I paid, the keyboard is good, the touchpad is smooth (but also a little loose for some reason), the fans are quiet most of the time, and there is USB-C charging support. Other than not being able to add more Ram later, and Windows 11, I can't think of any other major cons.
I would recommend this to a friend
