Put SS drive, GEForce 1080, expanded memory, and Evga 600 power supply. Runs like a champ, cheaper than if built from scratch.

My household is on it's 4th Asus Computer. 2 laptops and this is 2nd Desktop. I don't think I'll ever buy another HP or Dell because this brand seems to outlast them by more than double the years. This new desktop seemed to take forever to update while first setting up, but I believe it has more to do with Windows 10 than being an ASUS. That's about the only aggravation I've had with it thus far. It moves quickly and since setting up I've not yet had any problems.

Bought the machine based on CPU, HD capacity, and RAM. I thought it would be a screamer. It's slower than my i5 3.2ghz, (by a lot) and the CPU fan is noisy. Incessant whirring and modulating. Not thrilled. Windows 10 is fine.

Bought this over the M32 based on processor speed difference listed on Asus site. Having 16gb DDR4 ram already, it was simple enough to stick another stick in to max it out. The drive is noticeably slower than an SSD so you might want to add a SSD as a system drive and have the old one as a data drive (I added a 2nd 2TB drive as well and set up a mirror of the two data drives using Windows 10s neat Storage Spaces feature, no need for 10 Pro). After all this, it's noticeably quicker, and the bottleneck is now the CPU. So just goes to show the "buy the model with the fastest CPU you can afford" adage really pays off. The rest is cheaply upgradeable. One minor annoyance is the DVD-drive open mechanism requires multiple jabs each time because there is no tactile button, just a general area on a panel. This wouldn't be a problem if the tower was at eye-level next to the monitor, but desk space is at a premium, so we keep it on the floor where it keeps our toes warm. It's also not as quiet as I thought it would be.

Power packed unit for the price

Was looking to replace my 8 year old Asus Essentio and found this....the I7 processor, 16G RAM and 2T storage were cheaper than comparable units I researched. Wanted to stick with Asus since I like their motherboard reputation, and never had any hardware issues with my old Essentio. Don’t need a dedicated graphics card since I don’t play PC games...so the integrated Intel graphics do me just fine. I did install a SSD 525G hard drive for the system, and this even added to its speed. Nice compact unit with adequate room for expansion, and plenty of connectivity outlets. Really quick system and excellent price for what you get.
