I bought this machine for the purpose of getting online, and it struggles at every location I have tried to use the wifi internet. I get kicked offline and have to restart my computer to resolve whatever issue it is. My husband is very tech savvy and has been stumped by this machine. Nice display, good memory, but a huge disappointment for the internet issues.

it is a nice laptop but i felt that is wasnt for me and i returned it in exchnge for a different laptop.

I am disappointed in the time it takes to sign on and go from one screen to another on the internet

I'm not pleased with this laptop. Slower than a seven year itch. Have to turn on a light just to see the keys. Won't log on to internet half the time and it's not my connection. If it hadn't been more than 14 days, I would have returned it. That sales person talked me into this laptop and said it was a good one(NOT)!

A little slower than expected but seems to be ok for the price

I am disappointed, my driver seems to be out of date. This is a new purchase a little over 30 days ago and now I have to pay extra to update my driver. Shouldn't there be a grace period before you start charging your customer?

i bought this computer and did a review on it, said i would do a follow up in about a month, but after reading other reviews, i decided to do one sooner, it has been 2 1/2 weeks now, other people complain that the screen didn't work, or the computer froze, cheap keyboard, ect...... the latest one was someone complaining about a asus they bought 2 years ago, had nothing to do with this one i've have had no problems, used it everyday since i've gotten it, like i said on my last review, yes it does have a cheap keyboard, asus could have done a better job, that i will admit, but hey, it has a intel i5, and 8 gtigs of ram, 17.3 inch hd screen, it's fast, and does everything i throw at it with no problems, what can you expect for a 17 inch laptop with the i5n and 8 gigs for under $500?, there is no other 17 inch laptop with i5 and 8 gigs out there for less than $500, so it's not gonna be as nice as a $800 or more laptop, made of metal or carbon fiber and be indestructible that you would like this one to be, everything on this computer except for the keyboard is good, especially for the price, you can't beat it for under $500, about the keyboard, my advice, treat it gently and it will be good to you, lol so all in all, if you're gonna go cheap and spend less then $500 for a 17 inch laptop like i did, this is the one to get

The screen goes off and then comes back on. I will return it. The features are all good but I don't like the flick off/on issue.

Purchased the laptop for home use. The chip and memory / price made sense. The problems with the device are on the user interface i.e. the keyboard/mouse. The keyboard is not good at all, keys must be hit a few times, the space bar only works if it on the right side. The mouse is just about as useless. Overall the purchase is ok but know that you will need to connect a keyboard and a mouse.

This devise is eratic, . Does uncontrolable things. CAUSES ME TO HAVE TO re-enter data, resize screens, reboot as it drops out ot programs or opens different programs and screems on a regular basis. The screen floats making it difficult to click on anything. The keyboard works inconsistantly. The worst purchase I have ever made. Tempted to slam it to the floor daily. Mike McKilligan

I am angry as heck. Most purchased appliances have a book about the product. This one didn't With 8GB of Memory and 1 TB Hard Drive why does the laptop still seem slow.

This laptop lasted not even 2 years. Purchased in May 2016 and now replacing already - March 2018. This was for my son and has been a complete pain.

Always been having problems with it, barely use it and there is always a problem with it.

I purchased this laptop for my Girl Friend as she needed a bigger screen to complete her school work. I bought the device on Flash Sale for $349 which is even lower than the regular price and then I replaced the Hard drive with an SSD HDD and also changed its network Card with an intel dual band AC wifi card with Bluetooth. I wanted to change the Memory as well but 8 GB is more than enough for regular school work. As others mentioned the keyboard does feel very light and cheap but it works alright and as long as you are not a typist, it is not a big deal at all. Overall it is a great deal for financially conscious people. You can also simply upgrade the hard drive, PCIE network card and Ram up to 12 GB . Overall i highly recommend.

I'm not an expert in technology but I love this product! Im really happy with ASUS, it fits exactly the description. Not disappointed at all. Very good price, very good deal. I love the huge screen and everything works perfectly

I received this computer 3 weeks, it was the 2nd ASUS we had purchased. I love this computer. The screen is HUGE!!! the graphics great and it works great. no complaints.

I love this laptop it runs my programs like I hopped and more. The small teeny tiny problem is that the keyboard flexes slightly when pressed with a small amount of force.

I have always like Asus. My current laptop is just 2 years old - about 6 months ago I noticed that it wasn't closing properly. It was like there was something stuck in the hinge. There wasn't . . now the whole screen side has come apart. Still works but is useless unless I prop up the screen on something - plus it is in two pieces. This laptop has in no way been heavily used. I don't even take it on trips with me since I have an ipad. Of course we moved after I purchased it and I still can find the original receipt but the warranty I am sure expired at 12 months anyway
