Good hardware, bad assembly

Nice layout, easy startup, the 8gb ram is really a big improvement over my last laptop. Only one problem: the screen flickered. About every three minutes at minimum. I googled it and couldn't find anything for this model, but apparently Asus has had issues with not grounding the screen wires properly in other laptops. Okay, no problem. I took it back and exchanged it for another of the same model. The new one also flickered, even worse than the first. It's a shame, because other than the screen issue it's a genuinely nice laptop, and I was excited to try out an Asus for the first time! But I'll be returning my replacement and going with a different brand. Maybe by the time I'm ready for another laptop a few years down the line, Asus will have its manufacturing problems smoothed over.

Faulty keyboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A good combination of hardware. core i5, 17" display, affordable, but immediately after unboxing I hated the keyboard. Really cheap feeling with flex and bend. Then I find out the spacebar only works if you hit in the middle. Does not work if you hit on the sides. Returning.
