Couldn't be happier with the Zenbook from ASUS. It has performed perfectly since my purchase. Speedy, Light, and so far no issues with wireless access, keyboard, touchpad etc. To me it's great for what I needed, an up scaled lightweight notebook that was both powerful and economical. The only thing that would make this a perfect computer for me was to have a lighted keyboard.

Pros: -Lightweight -Great battery life -Silent (100% passive cooling) -SSD and 8GB of ram -Matte and IPS display - Keyboard and trackpad are above average compared to other laptops. I was worried about the trackpad being too clickly, but I was able to use a demo unit and I did not notice anything wrong with it. Average points: -CPU is okay. It isn't the best, but given its cooling and price. It is a good fit. Cons: -Fingerprint Magnet

I had tried the very lightweight ASUS U205A, but found that the only 17GB was available for my use out of the 32GB advertised. The popular HP “Stream” had similar specs with the same limitations. I looked at 2-in-1s but was dissatisfied that the computer is generally completely in the tablet component which makes the tablet a bit tiring to use. I looked at Lenovo's’ La Vie Z’ super-light offerings but $1400 was way over budget for me. Of course I considered Apple but couldn't get myself to change OS after so many years of investment in P.C.s. For me, the ASUS UX305FA turned out to be the best answer. It has very satisfactory reviews, good specs, and weighs just 2.5 lbs. with a lightweight electric plug included. I wish its M processor had a bit more zip but it turns in very satisfactory performance for my needs. The ASUS tech service people have answered my email questions within 24 hours as a rule, and they’ve given me good answers. I've been so satisfied that I just ordered a 2nd one (much needed for my work), and I ordered this one from Best Busy because of their good customer service policies. In my mind this ASUS is a superior choice for the money.

This computer is great, it's fast and very portable because it is so light and thin. The screen looks great and it has good battery life. The sleek design not only looks sharp, but is very convenient as well when carrying it. If I had to say anything about it, is that it doesn't have a backlit keyboard. This is worth the buy if your looking for a portable, speed demon of a machine.

Weight was my main criteria and the weight is perfect. I need to get used to using a new computer AND Windows 10!!! Best thing about Best Buy is the Geek Squad! Marketing genius!!! They are FANTASTIC . . . at least Jason in Albany, NY is fantastic! Totally patient! Wish the battery life was the 10 hours that Asus says . . . reality is closer to 6-ish.

I bought this laptop for my nephew as a start up machine for his freshman year in college. Of course he asked for a MacBook, but who in the right mind would give a kid that much cash. He loves it, specially since he got hooked up with all the good software our family had already. With the extra cash, I bought the extended coverage for 2 years... Best money spent.

Solid. Feels good in your hands. I was looking for an SSD laptop and this was the best value I found. It's super fast simply by virtue of the SSD. The keyboard is good quality and it has all the ports I need. I use it with an external monitor so I needed to buy a micro (not mini) HDMI adapter for it. If you buy a micro HDMI make sure to find a narrow one as the port is tight against a USB port and a wide HDMI cable will block the USB. My only problem with the laptop is the display. It is a matte finish which, to my eye, is fuzzy. I prefer a glossy, sharp screen, which is what I have for the external monitor. This is all a matter of preference as many people do not like the glare and reflection from a glossy screen. But I recommend getting a look at the screen in a store or comparing matte vs. glossy before you commit.
