A Stylish and Efficient Laptop for Everyday Use

A Stylish and Efficient Laptop for Everyday Use The ASUS Zenbook 14” 2.8K OLED Laptop is a perfect combination of performance, portability, and stunning visuals. Its sleek Ponder Blue design gives it a premium feel, while the compact size makes it ideal for on-the-go use. The 2.8K OLED display is the standout feature, delivering vibrant colors, deep blacks, and exceptional clarity—perfect for streaming, photo editing, or even casual browsing. The Intel Evo Platform and 12th Gen Core i5 processor handle multitasking effortlessly, whether I’m working on documents, browsing, or light gaming. With 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD, this laptop offers fast boot times and smooth performance for everyday tasks. While the storage may not suffice for heavy-duty users, it’s ample for personal or professional needs. Battery life is decent, lasting most of the day with moderate use, and the keyboard is comfortable for extended typing sessions. One minor downside is the lack of an SD card slot, but the overall performance makes up for it. If you’re looking for an elegant, high-performing laptop at a reasonable price, the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED is an excellent choice.

Absolutely in love with this laptop. The screen is by far the best I've ever owned in a laptop AND ITS 90HZ TOO!! Battery life is excellent after windows finished updating fully. After 2 hours of use in my class, I still had 82% remaining. Just make sure not to use more than 60% brightness (I think 200 nits) and you'll get excellent battery life. Performance is great too scoring over 9500 points on Cinebench, you'll be able to most games at 1080p with the iGPU. The one complaint I have is the ram, it is just not ideal having 8gb ram in 2022, and it is not upgradable. But for the price I paid, I could not be any happier with a computer.

Pros: Amazing OLED screen, small/lightweight, keyboard feels like a desktop kb w/ nice spacing & key travel, fingerprint reader, long battery life, fast and responsive, can charge with a phone charger (USB-C) if you happen to forget the one that came with it. ;) Cons: Only 8GB of non-upgradeable RAM and 256GB hard drive, only one type-"A" USB port (so can't easily copy from one USB drive to another). Overall: If you're looking for a solid laptop for everyday use where the pros quite heavily outweigh the cons, you can't really find anything better at the sale price of $500. The only thing you won't be doing on this is gaming... at least not any big games. I'm very glad that I made this purchase.

Picked up 2 of these for 5th and 6th grader in school. Screen looks great. Device is light weight for what it is with a compact design. Speed of proccesor and ram is fine for what they will be doing, graphics will be limited however with thunderbold you can use an external GPU if needed. Speaker sound good not great. For the price this is hard to beat, also you may not know but ASUS includes 1 year free ADP (accidental damage protection) this is great and includes drops, cracked screen and spills. Overall we are happy with it. Shipping took 3 days to get here.

This laptop is remarkable for the price. Hands down the best value I've gotten in a laptop. Note that I purchased this when it was marked down to $549. What a great deal! The screen is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful! Really like 16:10 ratio. As a software engineer, I like the slightly higher screen height as compared to a traditional 16:9 screen. Speaking of other features. The keyboard is fine for my needs - no complaints. The trackpad works very well. The touch ID is very accurate. No issues whatsoever. Makes logging into Windows very convenient. The construction of the device is good even bordering on excellent. Especially for the price. I'm happy with the quality and overall size of this device, however it's not a rigid as a Macbook Air but don't get me wrong, this device overall feels premium and was significantly cheaper than my Macbook Air M1! (Also a great device!) Although I'm not thrilled with the 8GB of soldered in RAM (i.e. RAM is not upgradable), I purchased a Samsung 1TB 980 pro SSD drive and replaced the 256GB Western Digital SSD drive it came with and it wasn't difficult. However, a word of caution, I've built and repaired my personal computers for over thirty years so consider getting someone to help with some experience if you're new to that but it's not hard if you have support, the right tools and perhaps a good Youtube video. The drive it came with was fine, but I needed more space and I also reasoned the faster performance in that SSD might help it page memory faster since this is only 8GB of RAM. Seems to be working well although this is based only on my perception of performance doing real work. This upgrade definitely sped up the computer significantly IMO. I've been using this with development tools such as Visual Studio 2022, VS Code, JetBrains tools for PHP, Java along with Docker and so far no perf issues whatsoever. Even with loading, working in and compiling bigger software projects. Regarding fan noise, if you push the notebook the fans will kick in. This will happen in all ultrabooks. I personally was NOT bothered by the fan noise at all. When I'm using the computer for browsing, email, etc... it's completely quiet. Finally, this has thunderbolt and I've connected it to my docks and it works great! Overall, I highly recommend purchasing this notebook. Even at retail price it's a fair price for a great ultrabook! NOTE on ratings: I gave it a 5-star for speed not because it's the fastest notebook out there. It's NOT. But for the cost it is an excellent performer. It keeps up with everything I do as a full time software engineer.

The OLED screen display is what I love the most about this laptop; it's beautiful. My primary use of this laptop is for a home office (bookkeeping) and some entertainment. I got this Zenbook to replace a desktop because I needed mobility, exceeding my expectations. I am an accountant, and I find the integrated number keypad on the mouse pad fantastic, by sliding your finger on the mouse pad's upper left corner, the pad switches to the number keypad. Battery life works as expected, getting plenty of hours of usage with a full charge. The OLED screen's colors are vibrant and bright, which is great for movie watching or online meetings. Since I am now working more on this laptop, I find the eye care features that protect my eyes very important. This model does not have a touch-screen, which is fine with me since the last laptop I had, I hardly ever used its touch-screen. The quality of sound produced is clear and loud enough. The design is just right: small, not too bulky, and lightweight to carry around. For convenience, I use a fingerprint sensor integrated with the power key to unlock the computer, and it works all the time. It is easy to setup, which allows me to work anywhere. To conclude, this is an excellent laptop with a superb screen.

he ASUS ZenBook 14 is a premium laptop that offers a great balance of performance, battery life, and portability. It is powered by an Intel Core i5 12th Gen processor and 8GB of RAM, which is enough for most productivity tasks and light gaming. The 2.8K OLED display is stunning, with vibrant colors and deep blacks. It also has a very long battery life, lasting up to 14 hours on a single charge. One of the best things about the ZenBook 14 is its design. It is made from a magnesium-aluminum alloy, which makes it both lightweight and durable. The ErgoLift hinge raises the back of the laptop slightly when it is open, which improves the typing experience and airflow. The ZenBook 14 also has a number of other thoughtful design features, such as a fingerprint sensor and a backlit keyboard. Overall, the ASUS ZenBook 14 is an excellent laptop that is perfect for students, professionals, and anyone who wants a powerful and portable computer. Here are some of the pros and cons of the laptop: Pros: Stunning 2.8K OLED display Long battery life Lightweight and durable design NumberPad touchpad ErgoLift hinge Fingerprint sensor Backlit keyboard Cons: No dedicated graphics card Expensive If you are looking for a premium laptop that offers a great balance of performance, battery life, and portability, then the ASUS ZenBook 14 is a great option. It is a bit expensive, but it is worth the price for the quality and features that it offers. Here are some additional thoughts on the laptop: The OLED display is one of the best on the market. It is incredibly vibrant and has deep blacks. The battery life is excellent. I was able to get 14 hours of use on a single charge with moderate use. The design is sleek and stylish. The magnesium-aluminum alloy makes it both lightweight and durable. The ErgoLift hinge is a great feature. It raises the back of the laptop slightly when it is open, which improves the typing experience and airflow. The fingerprint sensor and backlit keyboard are also nice features. Overall, I am very impressed with the ASUS ZenBook 14. It is a great laptop that offers a great balance of performance, battery life, and portability. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a premium laptop.

At the discount it is decent. 499.. Otherwise unless you absolutely most critically want a smaller OLED computer find something else at this the regular price. It is nice and portable but does not fold, no touch screen, and is not powerful. 8gb with a single small fan. It can only be considered a nice little streaming and cloud device. 12th gen intel is great though. *warning* Even with the current laptop I have from Asus with a 12700H and intel arc a370m discrete graphics with 16gb memory, the options you have in the bios are horrible. Like a phone with every parental lock imaginable. This is not advertised on any computer nor easy to find on the internet if at all. If you are a one to tweak or learn than ASUS really really sucks. UNLESS you like their screens. Their gaming computers I can't speak for. Back to this laptop as well as another warning. Asus likes to include really cool features yet disallow or exclude things that would make you really want the computer for a long time. No possibility to set fan speed at a constant rate, Terrible BIOS, weak cooling, features that are locked behind their bloatware, The dang thunderbolt on the lower right side of the laptop where most people want room for their mouse. This is long but I will say that an OLED screen with higher than 60hz refresh rate is nice, the keyboards are in my opinion never a problem with ASUS, the design is nice that unless you have been snacking on chips and donuts your fingerprints shouldn't be a problem.

The best entry-level Windows laptop you can get

TLDR: This is a fantastic machine for the price, as long as you don't use it for anything RAM-intensive such as editing video or running virtual machines, or you don't intend to daily Linux on it. The good: - OLED HDPI 16:10 90Hz 14" display is the reason you would buy this over anything else, not just entry-level laptops. It really makes up for all its deficiencies below. - The design is very compact for a 14" and the blue is very stylish and stands out from a sea of grey. - The trackpad is very large and comfortable to use. - 2x USB-c ports (both can charge the laptop) and 1x USB-A make its connectivity above average for the segment. - SSD is upgradeable The bad: - 8GB of soldered RAM is all you get - that's the reason I've taken off one star. After a month of use I can say it's enough for normal office or home use, even some simple Photoshop or Illustrator. Or 10-15 browser tabs. I've even had 2 users logged in simultaneously and I was still able to work through the day without issues. It would've been great if there was an additional SODIMM for upgrades or a version with 16GB soldered. - The chassis creaks a lot when moving or opening/closing the lid - The design is such that when open, the back rests on the lid instead of the bottom. So the screen wobbles a lot when you type and is not that comfortable in the lap. - Software camera guard (that only works in Windows) - Battery life is average at best for the segment. On Balanced, watching movies nets me about 7-8 hours but for basic office work/browsing, I haven't been able to get more than 5. - Linux/ChromeOS compatibility - One of the ways to get around the RAM issue is to work in Linux or ChromeOS. Compatibility however, currently is not great. In both Ubuntu and Fedora, I couldn't get the sound out of the speakers, the fingerprint reader, and the camera guard working. Both also occasionally crash. Also, because of the size and resolution of the screen, you'll have to use fractional scaling - at least to me at 200% everything looks way too oversized. 175% would be ideal. As for ChromeOS Flex, it kept crashing at boot from the flash drive, while it works fine with all my other computers.

Overall, a good laptop for basic tasks. Pros: excellent battery life, a good screen, and decent performance. Cons: poor assembly; it creaks all over; bad sound; no option to expand the amount of RAM. By the way, 1 year and 2 weeks after the purchase, the disadvantage of poor sound disappeared because the sound card broke, and now there is no sound at all. Now I have a real typewriter.

This is a big surprise as the quality/ price is outstanding. Build is great as it is not cheap. It has some weight. Screen is OUTSTANDING. Great speakers as they have a built in amp. Keys are fine as well as the pad. Plenty of ports. Did I mention the screen. Bright, vivid and just as good as there is in this price point. The I5 processor is very fast \ and reviews confirm this. If there is a down side ( not in my book or most peoples ) is the 8 GB ram and smaller SSD. But for most, not even a worry. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and a must check out. This well be a best buy for laptops under $ 1000 for 2022. ASUS is really doing a fine job on quality / price.

Great value for some use cases. I wanted a computer with a really great display that could surf, youtube and remote desktop. My other computers would handle any heavy lifting tasks. CPU performance is excellent. SSD performance was average so I upgraded it to a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Now the SSD performs at full 4.0 speed. The upgrade process requires IT skills. I was concerned that 8GB of memory would prove insufficient. However, so far, the system handles my activities well. I'm both pleased by the OLED display and disappointed. At 100% brightness, the display performs well indoors. In direct sunlight, the display is insufficient. I'm disappointed that the display can't handle bright ambient light well. Bestbuy claims the display is 600 nits but it really performs closer to my 400 nit notebook. I took off a star because of the puffed up brightness claim.

New ASUS Notebook - Overall a Good Buy (I think)

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Basically, my new ASUS notebook/laptop was a very good buy. Had a momentary heart attack, however, when the new computer didn't start for me for some strange reason about a week ago but it only happened once and has not recurred. (That shouldn't happen at all with a new computer.) I decided not to worry about it unless it happens again, in which case, I will take it straight back to the store and ask them to swap it out with a new one. So far, however, so good as this has not happened again. Except for that one odd occurrence, the new computer has performed extremely well which I expected since it has an I5 Intel processor and more than sufficient memory with a full 8GB not the standard GB of memory that a lot of new computers seem to have unless you order an upgraded version of the standard configuration. It is very fast as far as uploading applications and going from one Internet site to the other, no problem with running multiple applications but I typically only run 2 or 3 max at a time. (Got the extra memory in the event that I decide to get into desktop publishing which may require more memory due to more graphics-oriented processing going on in the background.) I like the fact that this notebook is very lightweight, easy to move around, small screen but text and graphics are very easy to read. The screen came with an "anti-glare" feature. This is important as I have an eye condition which makes my eyes extremely sensitive to bright lights. Thus far, I have been very comfortable using this computer. In short, it's a very nice little computer and for almost $750, it should be! I had originally hoped to get a new computer for at least $100 less than that but the Black Friday sales right after Thanksgiving meant a lot of less expensive computers were sold out. So far, I have not been disappointed in investing a few more dollars than I'd originally intended. Since I hope to have this computer for quite a few years, I suspect I got my money's worth out of the investment. I'm still a little nervous about that initial problem but if it were not for that, and not knowing if it will happen again, I would gladly recommend this computer as worth the cost. Even without the problem, it was an expensive purchase, however, an I5 plus 8GB of memory is either "state of the art' or darn close to it. In short, this is an expensive but very nice notebook style computer. In any case, I had to purchase a new computer since my old one finally just wore out and simply would not work at all anymore, so I consider this new computer to be my Christmas (and birthday) present to myself! Overall? I'd give this one 4 out of 5 Stars.

This is a great simple laptop for general use with a very nice display. I also have a Macbook Air 2018 and definitely prefer this better for several reasons. Had for about a month so far and overall very happy with it. Battery life is acceptable, probably 8-10 hours of mild use. Great to have features are the fingerprint sensor, backlit keys, number pad in touchpad(though don't use this much) lots of connections compared to the Mac, lightweight and seems durable enough. I'll admit the best thing about this laptop though is the display, its crisp bright and the higher resolution does not make me miss using the Mac which has a great screen as well. Speed is good enough for a laptop, its not slow at all and has no issues with lots of tabs open, spotify playing music. Would definitely buy again.

Overall, the laptop is very serviceable in terms of computing power, size, and ergonomics, at least with my use case anyway. Said use case includes zoom meetings, presentations, accounting software, time-wasters (yt/reddit), and light gaming (civ 6). Pros: - powerful enough to run 2-3 non-game apps actively without lags - great screen resolution - that soft 10-key pad - better than average speakers - hdmi port - weight Cons: - does get a slightly sluggish with light gaming - runs hot - opening its lid could take some getting used to - waking up from sleep acts like a reboot (except that it doesn't reboot, wonder if this is configurable) - battery life seems not as advertised - Asus is a Taiwanese company but this is actually made elsewhere. At $5xx, heck yes...$7xx, maybe?

The condition of this laptop was "Good" in open box. PROS: The best thing about this laptop is display. Keyboard is also nice. Lightweight and easy to carry around. MY ASUS app has many useful features. CONS: Out of the box, charger was not included. Right Speaker is not working. The performance is just average as it only has 8GB RAM and its always around 50% without any browsers open. And with a heavy usage, Fan noise increases.

Nothing beats this laptop at this pricepoint. Period. The build quality is great and the screen is gorgeous. There are some people who mention that the laptop creaks and feels flimsy; I had the same feeling in the beginning, but gradually those sounds disappeared and they were not even close to how people are exaggerating it in some of the reviews here. Pros - 1. Amaaaaaazing Screen. Hands down. 90Hz is cherry on top! 2. Great Keyboard 3. Great build quality. 4. battery life 5. USB-C PD Cons - 1. Speakers can sound muffled at loud volume 2. Fingerprint magnet If you are looking for a cheap yet excellent and sophisticated looking work laptop, just grab this over anything else at this pricepoint.

I purchased this laptop, and am the one using it, so review is based on experience / performance. I will try to provide a simple, concise review. Okay... Let's start with the most prominent feature that may attract many - the OLED screen... The screen has an extremely narrow bezel. It offers absolute blacks, and bright colors. I find the colors to be somewhat over saturated. This can be adjusted in the Intel Graphics Control Center. However, keep in mind, this will take some trial and error for the best personal results. The processor is 8 core, and along with 8gb ram, 256gb SSD, offers very adequate performance. Browsing, streaming, movies, and all apps I have tried ran perfectly. I especially like the keyboard - the key travel and feel are excellent, and with 3 levels of backlight, good for typing in low light. It has a number pad display on the touch pad - may be helpful to some. The construction seem good - alloy / aluminum build. Adequate ports, and even a micro SD port for additional storage. There is one glaring fault - the power port. Charging is accomplished through a USB C port. With a fairly heavy cable attached to the port, and the usual moving / slightly flexing on the port as the computer is moved, I have seen port failures. There is no reason a heavy barrel connector could have not been used. This allows for rotation without applying stress to the port. But, overall, an excellent computer at this price point

Amazing laptop. For some reason I can't stand 2-in-1 laptops and I find touch screens pointless. I needed something fast for work. This laptop is fast and doesn't hesitate when opening new apps. The fans will generate some noise from time to time, but usually only under full load. For the rest of the time it's very quiet. The OLED is the star of the show. The color the OLED produces is better than my personal monitor at home that costs almost $400. The NUM Pad in the mouse pad is an awesome touch. It can be dimmed and turned off completely. Keys feel good. Mouse pad is good, but I always use BT mouse. I paid full price for this ($750) and I still think it's a steal even though it's gone on sale once for $500. If you're looking for a gaming laptop you'll need to double your price. Can't recommend this laptop enough.

I would recommend this to a friend
