    Great Dual Sim Phone

The major reason for purchasing the phone was the dual sim. I will be in Mexico for a couple of years and wanted to keep my US number and have a Mexican number without carrying two phones. This phone is better than most dual sims in that it allows you to receive or make calls on either sim. Most make you pick one active sim at a time. You can also set which one is the data sim. It definitely meets my needs and has a great battery life. Price is good also. Only down side is that cases and screen protectors are a bit hard to find, but a web search did the trick.

    Great Phone - Great Price

I needed a phone that handles dual sims. This works that point perfectly. Real sweet how ASUS has made it pretty easy to set up and use. Screen is great, very long battery life. Reminds me of the long life of a Blackberry phone. It's that good. Still finding new things that it does. None of the bloatwear associated with other phones (Samsung). And the price...come on, for about $200...this si a steal.

Almost love this phone. A bit snappier would be nice. Can't seem to fast launch camera from locked phone (sleep) with double tap of power or volume button (I thought it was an Android feature--Asus offers double tap on fingerprint sensor but phone has to be unlocked and unlocking with fingerprint is effectively slower than pattern) Broke one in a bicycle accident, bought the same phone again without hesitation, but with protection plan this time :) I travel for work and need to use both sims ZenFone handles it well. Great wide angle second camera, but it is annoying and hard to switch to when outdoors in bright light.

Honestly, I could not believe how easy it was to change to this phone. I plugged in a SIM card that works with unlocked GSM phones, and I was ready to go. The dual SIM feature works great. I use the other SIM slot for foreign travel. The design is simple but clean. The battery life time is unbelievable. The first BIG Asus update went smoothly. In fact the only thing not top notch on this phone is the speaker, which is merely adequate. I didn't test the camera because I don't care about that. The display is very very sharp and the phone has a nice solid industrial feel to it. I am super pleased with my transition. I am using Consumer Cellular month-to-month plan. All my apps work fine. Next up is loading a VPN but thus far - perfect.

You can use both sims and a memory card at the same time! It gets the job done well, for only $229. No complaints here- now I carry only my zenfone instead of the 2 phones I used to carry.

    Great Phone

The phone has been great during the month that I've had it. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the obnoxious ads that randomly pop up. I needed a new phone because the old one ran out of memory space, with only 16GB of internal memory (the new one has double that). The camera on the old phone also stopped working due to an unfortunate encounter with the effects of gravity (not the phone's fault). Now I have plenty of memory for adding new apps. I also like the fingerprint recognition feature. Initially, the feature was kinda Meh, but it's grown on me. Didn't have much luck with accessories for the phone at BB, but was able to find a nice case and display protectors at the website that begins with A and ends with mazon.

I no longer have this phone(was stolen) I bought last year from Best Buy for $229.00 model ZB570TL it really feels like a premium device build.. screen is sharp and crisp ... and never had any problems with reception. . the only two downsides for this device.. the loud speaker isn't loud at all and almost impossible to hear.. and the dual cameras could be a bit better. great for taking up close pics.. but when you try to take a pic a distance this I where its weakness... the finger print sensor maybe a bit slow but always worked fine for me at least, all in all the phone is great ... I only gave it 4 stars because its a year later. since I got it.. and its still listed for $229.00. BH photo sells that model zb570tl 32GB phone for $179. 00

Coming from an LG G5 this phone is a bit of a disappointment. The screen is great but the camera can't compare to a flagship phone. Also the speaker isn't as powerful. Good phone if you're on a budget.

Great phone for the first 6 months, now?.......

Ok, bought the phone in February, activated it in early March. Bought a case on Amazon and screen protector online, as BB had neither. Loved it until the end of September, then out of the blue, I didn't receive any calls or texts for 3 days. Thought no one loved me anymore. I could call out and text, but not receive either. Email was fine. Called TMobile tech, they're great. Love TMobile, went thru some resets, and it started working. For like 5 minutes. Went to TMobile store for a new SIM card. Problem fixed. I think. Still, occasionally, my sister calls and won't come thru. Don't know if it's the phone zapping the SIM, or a TMobile thing. Hope it's not the latter. A month ago, I'd have given the phone 5 stars. Just not sure what the problem is. Considering buying a Moto X, or another unlocked phone just to have more security in being able to stay in contact 100 percent of the time.

      Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for sharing your review with us and I am sorry to hear about the issues that you are having with receiving calls and text messages. Our Zenfone is compatible with T-Mobile and this is not a known issue with any of our Zenfone models. I would however recommend that you go into the settings and ensure that you are running the latest firmware version, as I am seeing where an updated firmware version 14.02.1809.69 was released on the 26th of October. You can also find the firmware update at our online help desk at the following link: https://www.asus.com/us/Phone/ZenFone-Max-Plus-M1/HelpDesk_Download/ for manual installation. For further assistance you can email us at [email protected] and use the link to this review as a reference. Please have a wonderful day.

      Thank you for choosing ASUS.

I already had an Android tablet, so using this was easy. I don't understand why people pay 600+ when phones like this are out there. The one problem I had was with setup, you have to adjust the equalizer type settings to Max for the phone speaker to work well, otherwise this phone has been an awesome buy and well worth the money.

Coming from the previous generation of zenfone max I would say that this does not live up to the previous generation. I got way more battery life and a lot less technical issues with the my zenfone 3 max. I've had issues from not getting calls or text to receiving the text 3 days later. Sometimes it won't even let me dial my voicemail. Phone is decently fast but not worth the price. I regret buying and I'm a huge asus fan. If you want a gaming phone pass on this too. Very poor can't run hardly anything.

      Dear Tannor,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback with us and I am sorry to hear about the issues that you have encountered with this Zenfone. The Zenfone Max Plus M1 is a great phone with no known issues. I would highly recommend that you go into the Settings and check for any available firmware updates. You can also try wiping the cache partition. This can be done by powering off the phone. Once it is off, press and hold the volume down key and then the power key. After the device vibrates, release power key (keep holding volume down key) to enter recovery mode. Select "wipe cache partition" using the volume down key (or volume up key), and then press power key. You can also back up the data stored on your phone and use the following FAQ to complete a factory reset: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1006347/. I've had this phone for about 3 months now and between the phone the phone getting very hot (with all applications closed) and the screen going black it just isn't worth the money. PLEASE research the problems with Asus phone screen displays before purchasing. The dreaded BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH seems to be very common with the entire Zenfone line.

    Dont update to 8.1

Was a great phone, but December update to android 8.1 made it slow, sluggish to respond and also killed the battery life. I have re-set it to factory settings 3 times since, and have re-calibrated the battery as well- without success. Before the update, it lasted 2 days before needing charge- now it barely lasts 1 day. I have asked Asus tech support help, but they just ignore the fact that the update to 8.1 caused these problems and moreover Asus wont help me to downgrade back to android 7. So, in conclusion- after 7 months use, I now need a new phone. But dont take my word for it, buy the phone for yourself!

This is by far the worst device I have ever owned. I had to get it as an exchange for a different device and the darn thing literally resstarts itself every ten minutes, drops calls when I am in the middle of the call, screen freezes and I have had to hard reboot seven times since I got it A MONTH AGO!??
