    Great Little Tablet

I bought this tablet as a gift but I'm seriously considering getting one for myself. The tablet was purchased for an older person so I played with it before giving it to them to make sure everything worked correctly. The tablet is sturdy. It has a nice weight to it and does not feel like a toy. It moves quickly and I love that it has 32 gbs on-board. So many tablets only have 16 these days and that is not enough. For anyone looking for an alternative to Samsung and Apple, this is a good choice.

I was very nervous when considering this tablet, as there are almost no reviews about this device as of yet. However, I decided to give it a go and so picked up the very last one in stock at my local best buy.......and was blown away. Quality graphics? Check. Superb touchscreen? Check. Great design? Check. Everything about this beauty simply astounded me, and continues to daily. The only issues are how easily you can smudge your screen and how long it takes to charge this wonder. Beyond those two minor details, I am very, very satisfied.

My Nexus 7 2012 model broke earlier in the week. Just bought this as a replacement. The screen looks great. Quick response minimal customization by Asus on top of stock Android. Why would someone pay more for a different Android tablet?

I love this thing I use it everyday. I have had this thing for almost a month now and its pretty amazing. Its super fast and has a great screen, i watch netflix on this thing and the picture is beautiful. the one reason why i dont give it 5 stars is because the battery life isnt great but it isnt terrible.

    Could've been better

I've had high hopes for this tablet - it looks great, screen is bright and crisp, and I like the 4:3 format. Unfortunately I will be returning it due to four issues: 1. Performance - while I understand that this is not a high-end tablet, I still expect it to be pretty zippy, being brand new. Unfortunately it just doesn't feel fast - apps take a while to load, sometimes there is a pause while performing an action, and the browsing can get a little choppy on more complex websites 2. Battery life - 5 hours max, that is very disappointing. A tablet of this size needs to be able to last all day. 3. Charge time - it takes much longer to charge than to discharge! It is quite ridiculous how long it takes to charge, on the order of 1/3rd the speed of my wife's iPad Air 2. 4. Screen dimming - this is a deal breaker for me. No matter what settings are selected (auto brightness turned off, power save mode turned off, etc.), the screen visibly dims/brightens in steps when switching to a new page/view/program. For example, if I'm reading an email, and I switch to the browser, depending on how much light content the page has, you will see dim-wait .5 second-dim-wait .5 second-dim. While it might be more or less visible during the day, when using it at night in bed it is very noticeable and unusable for me.

Works great, plays all of my games, including XCOM: Enemy Within and Civilization Revolution 2. Fast processor, the 2 GB of RAM helps too.

Best Buy raised the price of this $30 shortly after release - it was $199. Decent tablet, but just not as quick as I'd like, and the battery life wasn't quite up to par. Construction is great, and it feels nice, though the 4:3 ratio for an 8" makes it almost just like the iPad Mini. I'd wait for the model with 4GB of RAM and see what that's priced at, myself (model number will be CA instead of just C).

Amazing Screen, very fluid, and I love this better then my Nexus 7 since i have larger hands. I needed this for social media, cloud and movies. Overall I am in love and very impressed with my new Tab and it was under 200 bucks!

A decent tablet with a nice screen, to replace a three-year old Acer Iconia. Mostly happy, but: ■ Not compatible with current version of Starbucks and American Express apps on Google Play ("device not compatible" message) ■ Not Android 5.1, only 5.0; seems unlikely to get upgrade ■ Out of the box, the tablet was in some kind of test mode- a single screen press would announce the screen area ("Forward"; "Button 42") and highlight the area of the button in green dashed lines; double clicking would make the button function. Had to do a factory reset using this technique; now tablet responds normally. ■ Based on light usage, the tablet is responsive; I haven't seen the lag mentioned by others. ■ Was on sale but no longer is.

    Awesome tablet

I had a Nexus 7 a couple years ago and I really enjoyed it. I noticed that this is the closest tablet I could find to the Nexus, especially one that didn't cost as much. I only wanted an Android instead of an iPad and whatnot, so I was really excited when I found this one. I absolutely love this tablet! However, I'm incredibly mad that the battery doesn't last that long. I'm having to charge it every 3 or 4hrs after playing a couple of games and whatnot and then I have to wait about 3 or 4hrs for it to fully charge. I like it enough that I would probably get another one of these so I'll have another tablet to play with while the other one is charging. I also wasn't a fan of the apps that were already installed on it, but luckily I was able to uninstall the ones that I didn't need, which I wasn't ever able to do with the Nexus. Other than that, this tablet is pretty awesome, I'm glad I bought this one.

    Beautiful Display

I bought this tablet as a replacement for my mom's Kindle Fire HD 7 8GB tablet from last year (2014) that was running out of storage space. My mom plays these slot games and every time she levels up she unlocks another game so storage space quickly ran out. This tablet has been an excellent replacement. Pros: 32 GB of internal storage means lots of space for apps and a micro SD slot if we need more. It has a beautiful high resolution display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. This ratio is better for reading email and viewing web pages. 16:9 aspect ratio is better for viewing HD video. But I'd rather use my living room HDTV for watching video. I mostly use a tablet for reading or viewing web pages so a 4:3 aspect ratio is better for us. With 2 GB of system memory it is very snappy. It plays my mom's games perfectly and the sound is very good (maybe not as good as the old Kindle Fire HD but better than most tablets). The build quality is very nice. And we got a nice case for it (at another online store since Best Buy doesn't carry any custom cases for it) that supports auto on/sleep when opening/closing the case. This is a very useful feature for newbies like my mom. I like it so much I might buy one for myself later. With a 4:3 aspect ratio and a beautiful display I think it might make an excellent comic book reader.

Premium build and screen go with a cheap price tag. The only downside is the performance during some tasks is slow. But day to day operation is fluid enough.

    a sports car w/ a 4 cylinder engine

i was excited to get this tablet. all the upper end specs are there for a fantastic price. i love the 4:3 ratio; very nice for the web & opening pdf docs. screen is very bright, sharp & clear, rich colors & a set of speakers that will rival any other tablet on the market. deep rich, surround sound - amazing. now the bad, the intel processor is not up to par. it just can't handle the heavy Zenpad UI & screen needs. very jerky animations when opening or closing an app - not just a hiccup or 2 but frustratingly slow & jerky. i opened a comic book on my kindle app and there were a cpl pages that would not open - just a blank screen. after going back and forth twice, i was finally able to get the page to load. battery life seemed so-so. before bed, i shut it down and the next morning, my weather widget would not load. volume & power buttons are mushy - hard to know if i was turning it on or not. what good is a porsche with a civic engine in it? i returned next day. in the store i did play with a new insignia flex elite that was very impressive with a proven processor. animations were fluid & snappy.

Very nice looking tablet , awesome features but somehow I kept having issues with the wifi signal. I even moved my router to a higher position ( it was suggested ) and still kept loosing the signal. It would say no connection when on the top it said it was connected. I tried 2 and both had the same similar issue. The screen look very sharp very nice ( not bright enough ) speakers are ok , battery life is good it just the fact that the wifi doesn't work properly and I do a lot of streaming a lot of movie watching and listening to music and well if the wifi on the tablet doesn't function properly well there was no reson for me to keep it . I ended up returning it and I got stuck with the screen protector and case I had bought on e bay
