Customers have good things to say about the ZenPad 8.0's screen quality, performance, battery life, and value for the price. Many appreciate its smooth operation due to ample RAM and find it easy to use. However, some users express dissatisfaction with the limited internal storage and the inability to move apps to an SD card for expanded storage. The lack of app-to-SD functionality is a recurring concern among some customers.

The Asus Zenpad arrived in a box that had been cut open and taped back together. My local store did not have a replacement in stock but allowed for an easy exchange for the Samsung of equivilant size. We are enjoying the Samsung Galexy Tab

Good tablet for a reasonable price. Battery doesn't last as long as some, but not bad.

Gift for my wife to replace her Asus tab which became obsolete for her word games. Took awhile to get it up and running but that is to be expected for old people.

I should have returned this tablet when I started to have keyboard problems. An update fixed that, but now it randomly drops wifi. Dozens of times an hour. And if I shut it off or charge it, WiFi goes out till I turn it off and on again. Camera is awful. I'm so disappointed.

My Asus - Zenpad 8.0 - 8 - Tablet was a dud, Started acting up, right out of the box. Was told to reset and I did, made it worse. I returned it and would have tried another one but none were to be had. so I took a samsung tab 8, I am very happy with this replacement.

Great little tablet for the money. I looked at several other brands in the price range & the Asus beat them all hands down. I'm normally a loyal Samsung owner but to get these specs in a Samsung would cost twice as much. The 2gb of ram was the main selling point for me. I tried a Samsung with 1gb & it was very sluggish. The screen is bright & colors are very good. All of my apps run fine even when running several at a time. The speaker could be a little better but I use headphones so it's not a big deal. Camera is great as long as you have plenty of light. The only complaint I do have is not being able to move apps to my SD card. I suppose that's a problem with the new android version & hopefully Asus will get an update to make it work. It was advertised Adobe Flash compatible but I can't seem to get that to work. Very satisfied after using it for 2 weeks.

Bought this for my son whose gone through many tablets always complaining they are laggy. He loves this tablet. Smooth using. Sharp colorful graphics and loads super fast. He can play all his games now that use tons of memory and run the tablet real hard with no sluggish behavior. Having 2gb of ram is the key here. And watching you tube and Netflix has never been better. Best tablet he's ever had at an afordable price. Super fast shipping. I ordered it on a Wednesday and it was here by Friday.

Well first let me say I'm coming from using a nexus 7 (2013) for 3 years until it bit the dust. It was my first tablet and it was amazing, unfortunately the mini USB Jack broke and the battery went flat. So off to look for a new tablet. Frst I tried a samsung galaxy tab 4 but found it to be sluggish compared to my old nexus 7, so back it went and I tried the updated tab A 7. But the Wi-Fi performance was horrible (Netflix stuttered and it wouldn't stream smoothly) and it was uncomfortable to hold and heavy for a small tablet.
So enter the ZenPad 8, I didn't really want to spend a fortune since my old nexus was only 120 bucks. It had the best specs on paper for the price- 2 gig of ram, Mali 750, etc. The pad is well built and is pretty easy to manage for an 8 inch tab. It runs very snappy and smooth like my old nexus 7 and the Wi-Fi is loads better than the tab A 7 (Netflix and streaming are smooth as silk). Yes the screen could be higher resolution, but it still looks good and is plenty sharp with good colours and contrast. Asus bloatware isn't too horrible and can be removed, I actually enjoy the DTS headphone effects.
In summery if you're looking for a nice performing 'budget' tab, you could do worse. I'm very pleased and the slightly bigger screen is easier on my eyes. Good stuff, in fact this review was written on the ZenPad 8 :)

Beautiful, high-contrast, 800x1280 screen. The dark blacks, vivid and deep colors, and high-contrast make it easy to read.
An SDHC card is easily adoptable as internal memory by using ADB and a couple of simple commands -- No rooting necessary -- So having only 16GB of internal storage turns out not to be a big deal. I added a fast 64GB Samsung card and formatted as Internal without problems. Rooting is not necessary to do this. Thank ASUS, for making this feature available! ADB tools are easily found online and installed to your desktop or laptop. The instructions to do this can be Googled pretty easily, but if someone has trouble finding them, respond to this review and I will post a link or post Googling instructions.
Current available Android update as of this review is Nougat.
I use it a lot for routine tasks that I used to use my phone for. When I am on the road I often use my phone as just a hotspot and access everything through the Zenpad 8.
Battery life is good but not great. It usually lasts me a day of intermittent use.
Only complaint is that the 2MP cameras suck. My phone, a Moto G5+, takes better pictures. The cameras should be fine though for chatting and occasional documentation. I dropped a star for the cameras, but if I could I would really give this a 4.5 stars instead of 4, and just drop a half-star for the cameras. With better cameras I would give a 5-star rating.
Well done, ASUS!

Only Flaw - Can Not Transfer Apps To SD Card
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Great overall, but can not transfer 'Apps' to SD card. This seems to be a trend with many manufacturers now.
Interface is good and all of that standard stuff. No complaint about those.
I have used Asus products for years off and on. This the only one I can actually 'complain' about.
Planned obsolescence is what Apple does. Guess Android device makers want to test the waters and eventually follow suit.
Do yourself a favor complain to Asus. Also in the interim try to find a no-name or lessor brand.
Seems I often buy from Best Buy not out of the best deal, but out of desperation. I need this device for academic and possible business uses.
I had a similiar issue with the boost Mobile LG Stylo 2. Could not transfer apps to SD card. Sad, it cost more than the older phone I wound up purchasing.
LOL, yes Best Buy is not my cheapest option. Just wins the distance and time lottery.
See what happens when you leave up critical features. Clients go to competitors. Who are selling a inferior-tech, but functional device.
To all android hardware developers,
Please do not follow the 'Planned obsolescence' of Apple. Just please stop.
Again, unless you are a limited-use android consumer I do not recommend this device. However if you do not install many apps and want to use it for entertainment and occasional reading, then go for it.

I bought this tablet for my girlfriend for Christmas. She loves it. No more trying to play games, internet and so on on her phone. We already had Asus laptop & desktops so it was a great choice for a tablet. Performs well, great battery life. Now im gunna have to get me one to. No complaints whatsoever.
