    AT&T 5.8 ghz cordless phones

I had these phones for a week and then returned them. I would have thought they would have been a improvement from my sony 2.6ghz cordless phones which where 6 yrs old. Boy was I DISAPPOINTED!! Very poor range and reception. Even with the volume all the way up they were way to quite. I never saw the caller id pop up on call waiting. I do subscripe to both caller id and call waiting. Just not the phone I would have expected from AT&T.

We just bought this phone today and love it, love it, love it! I am a Panasonic man and was not interested in anything else. But after seeing this on sale for half the price of a comparatively equipped Panasonic I had to at least look in to it as an option. We bought it and brought it home resting in the fact that, should it bomb, we would/could simply return it and move on with our lives. We did look and compare this unit with what Panasonic had on the shelf. The only thing I could see that I really wanted - but could live without - was the ability to use multiple handsets at one time (better than using a speaker phone). For the price - compared to similar offerings from the competition - we went with this unit. The system works flawlessly. Easy enough to program. Sounds great on both ends. Range appears to be fine (2,500 sq ft home). Wish list for future: Speaker phone on each handset Ability to use multiple handsets at one time Intercom between handsets Capability to add even more handsets (only 4 as of now) Would like digital over analog These options mostly only come on systems costing twice what we paid for this, so for the money... no worries, no complaints. If you are looking for a good sounding, good range, four handset phone at a GREAT price, get this one. You will not be disappointed.

the reception on this phone is pretty bad. i can be right next to the base and the call seems fuzzy. changing the channel doesn't seem to help. the person on the other end sounds like they are a million miles away even with the volume all the way up. i think i am going to have to return this phone.

The Worst Telephones I've Ever Owned!

These are positively the worst telephones I've ever owned! Not only do they have extremely poor sound quality, but only one handset can be used at a time. Furthermore, when you want to change handsets during a call, you must know which handset you want to use because you must transfer the call to that particular handset. In my house that is almost impossible because my children never hang up the handset that they are using on its designated base. As long as the handset ends up on a base, that's fine with them. Needless to say, I purchased this set three days ago, and tomorrow it goes back to the store!

The best phone I ever had

I bought this phone a few days ago. My son works nights as a trucker and sometimes I talk to him to keep him awake but I have no phone in my room and I was always running down the phone I had keeping it by the bed. Buying this was a no brainer for me. Now I have a charger and phone by my bed. It has 5 hrs talk time fully charged and 6 days of standby time. I am so pleased. It does everything. You can transfer from one phone to another with a click of a button. It has a volume control that can be operated from either the handset or the central phone box. I use to strain to hear my messages but not anymore. I can even hear my feeble little mom by increasing the volume on the handset. I now have phones all over the house and my husband has one in his office so we no longer argue when I run the phone battery down! Life is good!!

    Ok, but....

At this day and age I'm surprised there's a phone out there that doesn't have a speakerphone. Leave it to me to find the one that doesn't. I haven't used the phone much so I can't speak to its performance, but as soon as I got all the bases in place and was looking at all the features I realized there was no speakerphone. Back it goes to be exchanged for a phone from the 21st Century!
