We replaced an older phone that did not have caller ID, and we anted a all mount phone because it is in the kitchen. Fortunately, there is an electric outlet in the wall near the phone mount. It was relatively easy to set up all the options. We just wish it had some kind of red light signal to let us know when there is a message, so we can see it from a distance.

My 91 Y.O. mom loves this phone. Says it is the best one yet for ease of use. The screen is easy to read and key size make it easy for fingers with Arthritis. Two thumbs up so to speak...

It is difficult to find a home phone that is wall mounted, with a large digital display, a digital answering machine, ease of use and looking good. The AT&T CL4940 has all these features plus more. Instructions for use have to be read carefully. Some instructions are a little confusing. For a reasonable price you can't go wrong with this phone.

I like the big numbers and easy to read display window, instruction were easy to follow and set up, Remember to select the # of rings to answer is 5 or less or it will not have sufficient time to activate the answering machine. I like that it has the option to hang on the wall. The cord is a bit short, and hand held is a bit hard to hold with your shoulder to ear. So I utilize the speaker phone most often. I would buy again. Good value for the money

A good basic phone for the desk. Easy to read buttons and display. Handy speaker phone and answering system.

Bought the landline phone for my Mom. The buttons and the display are large and bright. The handset is light and easy to hold. I had no trouble setting it up and enabling the answering machine. Mom has no trouble seeing the caller ID or adjusting the volume for her hearing loss.

This AT&T CL4940 has all the features I needed. It seems to be a reliable, quality-made phone. Overall, it suits my needs. The drawback (for me) is the large size. Some people may love the large keys and viewfinder on the Caller ID, but those were not necessities for me. I prefer a smaller, slimmer phone which takes up less space, but that's a very minor detail! Good phone, easy-to-use! Would recommend it.

Land line phones are scarce these days, and this one gets the job done. The big buttons and big display are good for those of us whose vision isn't what it used to be. However, the sound quality is poor. The phone needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet, so it's not easy to move around while talking. All in all, a good, but not great, product

Great phone, easy to use, easy to setup, great price came on time. Large numbers. Orange light is a turn off with me but can live with it since it only stays on when in use, or when you have messages. When idle it turns gray.

I have had this phone for about a month and so far so good! I set it up as a wall phone in my kitchen. Set up was easy and it has all the features that I needed speakerphone, caller id, call waiting. Would recommend this phone to anyone that is looking for the above features.

So far this phone has worked perfectly. Has all the options I needed. However, I have voice mail through my phone company, and do not need the answering system. No problem there as it can easily be turned off, and back on, if it is ever needed. Best phone I've had, I think.

This phone does EXACTLY what it's advertised to do: quality audio, large display and buttons that are easy to read, and easy to use, even without having read the "manual". I have an early version of this same phone, and it is equally impressive.

I replaced one similar to one I had before. Senior citizens need one like this by their bedside. I have put felt discs on the 911 buttons so if in the night I need help, I don't have to turn on any lights or get out of bed. No big deal, but it does make citizens safer. It is well worth the price.

The phone provided everything I wanted. The features of answering machine were standard and simple to setup and works great. The sound from the handset and speaker was clear and volume can be adjusted.

Got this for a 90 year old aunt who did not want a cellular phone. It was easy to add names and numbers, has a large digital display, good volume, and clear buttons to retrieve messages quickly. It has all the features needed for the purpose.

I was reluctant to buy this at first, it seemed to have a lot of buttons and I was worried my mother might have a problem using it. It turns out to be really quite simple to use, the sound quality is great, and so far everything works perfectly. The handle is light, and I hung it on her kitchen wall, so the speaker feature is really handy when she's in the kitchen. And, the instructions were really clear....a real plus.

This is my third iteration of this model phone, as I've replaced them (due mainly to the LCD screen failing) over the past, hmm, 15 years. Not much has changed in the quality, design, or feature set. I'm even still using the same wall mount screws lol. I s'pose this model would still work with land lines (haven't had one of those for quite some time LOL); I use it for VOIP connections to Vonage and Google. Works great. Note: the older ones still worked as phones when I retired them... it's just that the segments on the various digits start to fail after several years, and I finally get tired of squinting lol.

I love this phone. It has a tilt screen and large numbers with bumps on the number 5 which is so helpful for vision impaired and it has a voice assist for boosting voice and minimizing background noise. . The display is easy to read with large letters and numbers and it is so super easy to set up to your exact preferences.
