I've always been a fan of the WP interface but troubled by the lack of apps (which is still an issue). However, for the price ($69) and the features of this phone this one was an easy decision. I've also been reading the press announcements about how easy the new WP 10 conversion tools will make it for mobile app developers to port from IOS/Android to WP 10 which should really push this phone to the top of the list for anyone looking for an easy-to-configure phone with user-friendly features (custom-sized tiles/live tiles) especially at a very attractive price point.

    Great Replacement

I purchased this as a replacement for my Lumia 1520 which I had recently dropped resulting in a cracked screen. I needed something right away and being that I was already using a Windows OS phone, I wanted to stay with that OS until my contract was up. I had also filed an insurance claim and needed something quick until my insurance replacement arrived. I was very pleased with this phone. Although it did not have all the bells and whistles of my 1520, it was quite serviceable. The phone sound quality was very good and it was easy to operate. Windows 8.1 was simple and I was already used to it. Unfortunately, my insurance replacement phone was a Lumia 950 with Windows 10. I HATE THAT ONE! Full of bugs and drains the battery like crazy. This little 640 was so simple and I was able to transfer my SIM and SD card over and in no time I was up and running. I still have it and use it for web browsing now when at home. Like it said, simple and effective. Not at all like the "new" 950. If you're looking for a simple smart phone with fair camera quality but good processing for just a little amount of money, you can't go wrong with this phone. It's not an I-Phone 6s or a Samsung Galaxy 6 but it's also not $600 plus. For less that $50, you can't go wrong!

    Not bad for its price!

I'll call this for what it is, a cheap 30 dollars phone that is priced just right for its ability to deliver what you need. The phone has 4G LTE capability, decent looking screen, and it runs Windows 8.1 out of the box with eligibility to upgrade to Windows 10, whenever it comes out. This phone has pretty much what I want but its only down side is the lack of apps and customization ability. This is more of Microsoft's issue than the phone itself. For those who worries about battery life, this device should keep you away and worry free about charging it for a good 1.5 days at the very least. I'm at 39% left and the "time since last charged" is 1 day and 20 hours, so I can easily go past 2 days. This will varies depending on your usage, but it's not bad. For 30 dollars when on sale, it's not a bad back up phone or something to play around with when you're bored with your Android/iPhone phones.

I purchased this phone so I could develop and test Windows phone apps. I have a very good Android phone that I had not intentions replacing with this phone. However, after using the Lumia 640, I'm quite impressed and started using it as my primary phone. If you are an existing ATT customer, you can use this phone without obtaining new service. I simply installed my existing SIM card, from my Android phone, and it works like a champ. You will not find a better $60 smartphone anywhere, period. Easy to use, great camera, expandable storage, large screen, and about all of the features you want in a quality smart phone..

I'm a loyalty Microsoft Lumia phone user. I've used Lumia 520 for more than 2 yrs and gave it away to my relative. Since I trust the phone call quality of Lumia cell phone, I got this phone as my replacement phone during Thanksgiving. It's definitely beyond my expectation. You can't image a phone less than 30 bucks can do such a good job. The phone call quality is excellent as it always be. As compared with the previous model, this one has a bigger screen. Very easy to text message. I liked my new phone very much. The only cons that I can think of is it comes with Windows operation system. Less app available as compared with iOS and Android system. If you are looking for an affordable smartphone with primary use of making phone calls and texting message, go for it.

Love the windows OS. Big screen, HD cam and screen. HD front cam. I have a 128 gig card with what remains of the 8 gig on board. Quad core, all this for under $55 (SD excluded). What more can I say?

Decided to try a Windows OS phone after using an Android phone as a step up from the flip phone I used for years. The Windows OS is simpler and as fast as Android. The phone does everything I want and is more reliable than Android. At times the Android phone would miss calls, so far not a problem with Windows. The Nokia 640 has just the right size screen, bigger but not too big to be inconvenient. It is a beautiful screen and easy to read and the typing much easier for me than before. The camera is great, wonderful photos and again very easy to use. I am very happy with the Nokia 640 and the Windows phone OS. I would recommend this phone to anyone wanting an easy to use yet elegant phone.

I bought this Microsoft Lumia 640 as a gift for my nephew birthday. He is so exited it about the windows operative system. He says it does everything what any smartphone out there does and performance is awesome. 4G LTE and camera capabilities are a plus. And what he most liked is "no contracts"!!! 5 stars for this smartphone.

Purchased this phone on Black Friday for $30 to be used as a secondary phone. For the price, won't find a better phone with the performance and specs. Windows Phone Apps are still lacking but all the social media applications are there. If you are into selfies, the front camera doesn't take great pictures. Overall a great phone for the price. Pros Long battery life Great Performance SD Card Expansion Removable Battery Takes great pictures (back camera) Cons Lack of apps Low resolution front camera Some applications can't be moved to SD Card Internal storage only 8gb Takes a long time to charge

This is one of the best phones I would say that I have owned is worth every penny. Can't go wrong for what you are paying for. It's got everything you want in a phone. Similar specs high end phones cost 10 times more than this. I personally think Windows 10 mobile is excellent. Very smooth. All the essential apps are there. this has expandable SD storage, replaceable battery( wireless too) & LTE to boot. I am not worried about losing it or breaking it. My kids are using it & they love it.

This is a great inexpensive phone loaded with many features. This phone was purchased as a back up phone for my iPhone. Set up was quick and easy. The learning curve is simple and quite intuitive. I have had zero problems finding the apps that I wish for the phone. This phone is making me question why I should spend so very much more for an iPhone as this is a terrific phone.

I was one of the unfortunate souls that bought and invested my mp3 catalog in a microsoft zune. So when i went to upload my newest cd to my zune software on my laptop, i could not... It finally happened, it could no longer be done. I knew this day was coming and it actually lasted longer than i expected. That said, i started mp3 player shopping. My first instinct was iPod, but the storage i need is 64 gb because i have a lot of mp3's. I just want a music player. I looked into this and it is actually a great option, i dont care about apps or any connectivity stuff. I added a 64 gb mini sd card and it was good to go. For about $55 i was able to get a pretty good windows phone music player with touch screen, random playback, repeat, create playlists etc. works great as my mp3 player. No need to sign up for any service or use a prepaid card to use the wifi features and apps while on wifi. This also has a very nice large screen slightly bigger than an iphone 6s. From what i read memory can be expanded to a max od 128gb mini sd card

Purchased this phone for someone who had never used a smart phone before. The setup was easy to go through and ease of getting going with calls was straightforward. Good selection of every day apps like Waze and Pandora available. Good screen, battery life is standard for a high performing phone. Camera quality is reasonable. All in all a good purchase of a phone for everyday user who isn't tech savvy. Able to use this phone on a postpaid contract plan without having to extend contract or make a monumental change on my account.

The price is very reasonable and Windows Phone operating system is running very fast and smooth with just 1GB RAM built in board. It has a large screen for better website browsing experience. The phone is sleek and very comfortable. The only down side about the system is that WP does not have much popular apps like iOS and Android do. Many apps are not available for WP such as app from Google, those smart home apps, etc. Otherwise, I think this phone is perfect.

Although the Lumia 640 is a little larger for my smallish hand(s), I really enjoy the phone as the processor is quick, the screen is sharp and bright, and the rear camera takes outstanding videos. Battery life is good as I can go two days between charges and I have experienced no lag as of yet. The selection of apps and games in the Windows store may be somewhat lacking but I am satisfied with what is available and hope that the Windows store may offer more in the near future.

Bought two of these phones for my parents and they love them! Easy to use for older folks and screen is plenty big with the 5 inch display. Great battery life as well. Would recommend for anyone looking for a cheap smartphone or quick back up phone, just don't expect many apps from the windows store.
