This is a fantastic phone, especially at the price. I have used both Android and Apple in the past and while those phones are great in their own rights, I have found the Windows 8.1 OS to my liking and it does one thing natively that either phone could not do - have NATIVE Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) built in. I am also a heavy user of OneNote and having that built into my phone is a God send.
What about apps?
I don't care. I have the ones that I like. Uber, Mariott, Delta, American Airline, my bank (not saying), and even Twitter and eBay. I have no more than 25 apps installed. While there is one or two I wish were available, they are not deal killers.
If you want a phone that you can own outright and is cheap enough that if you drop it you can simply buy a new one for less than the deductible of the fruit or robot logo phones, then get this. You will be pleasantly surprised by the usefulness of the OS.

I wanted a new phone and I did not want to pay I-Phone prices. For $30 I bought a very good phone with solid features. Granted, the app store isn't as big as google nor apple's but it has many free and premium apps.
The screen is large and looks good. I immediately updated the phone and apps and added a few other apps including podcasts, notes and a few shortcuts.

This is a great device for anyone who wants to try out the Windows Phone ecosystem. It does all the things a phone is supposed to do, and does them pretty darn well for an affordable price. Windows Phone is actually an outstanding OS, and the 640 wears it well.

I had an old flip phone for the past 15+ years. I saw this phone on sale and thought I'd give it a try... I love the screen size (I'm 65+) . Features like the great camera, Email, Notes, Reminders, Calendars and a Voice and Email Contact List convinced me the phone was a keeper!... So much so I bought one for my wife... and she now loves her smartphone.. I would recommend getting a stylus if you're my age or older or if you have fat fingers...:)

I got this phone for my younger nephew who wanted his first smartphone. This was the perfect choice. The operating system is easy to use, and while it may not have all of the apps that iOS and Android has, he's happy that he can earn achievement points with Xbox games on his phone.
You get a good camera, and one with a microSD expandable storage.

It is my first time to have windows phone, since my laptop is windows operating system I think giving the phone a try is not bad at all. Although I expect too much from its Store. I was looking for Snapchat and other Apps, but that was okay. I like its camera feature, and the Store's Apps for photography like the Panorama app. I like the touch sensitivity and the battery span. Unlike Android apps that Force Stop most of the time, it doesn't happen (yet) to my Lumia 640. Overall, this phone is not bad at all. :)

Pros:
1. Large 5 inch screen, 4G LTE
2. Easy to unlock with AT&T device unlock portal
3. Windows 10 upgrade eligible
4. Steal deal for a smartphone with all the features it offers at around $60
5. Syncs up well with Microsoft platform - Skype, Office, OneDrive
6. SD card support
Cons:
1. Live sync of tiles does not work intermittently
2. Windows phone platform is catching up but nowhere near Android and iOs
3. Mediocre camera, front facing camera is very poor.
4. Lack of apps depth compared to Android and iOs
5. Back cover cheap plasticky and difficult to remove (need to press the center of the screen to pull off the back cover)

I bought this phone when it was selling at $60. I found it very nice phone at this price because it has everything I wanted (HD screen, front-facing camera, windows 10 free upgrade). One drawback I noticed is it has only 8GB memory, but it is extendable so I added 32GB SD card to it.

I purchased this phone to replace my mom's broken phone. For $60 this is a great smartphone. It doesn't lag, the battery lasts 3-4 days for her, and the screen is responsive and clear. Camera is great too

This phone is a real surprise. It has all the features one could expect in a great phone: big display, 8mp camera with flashlight, front facing camera and excellent processing speed. It can also open email attachments. Also, I have synced it with my Windows laptop and thus am not worried about the storage/memory. One can't believe such an excellent phone could come for so low a price.

A phone that only cost me $29.99 has surpassed expectations I would reserve for a $700 flagship. Nothing to complain about here.
Apps - I got 95% of what I usually use from Android. Only thing I miss is Camfrog!
Camera - Surpassed my expectations. Takes good photos even in low light.
Reception - Clear and loud.
Speaker - Loud.
Battery Life - Very good except it drains fast with mobile data on. I can get 7-8 hours SOT.
It is smooth too. Removable battery and micro-sd up to 128gb is nice to have. Unbeatable price. Better value than Moto E or G

Got this phone for my wife. She had the Lumia 520 previously, but for almost the same price we paid for that phone a year ago this was a big step. Great screen, has slot for SD card so plenty of space, good reception. One drawback -- hard to find good cases for it.

I got this phone for $30 when it was on sale on BestBuy. 5 inch screen, 720P HD screen, decent cameras, 1GB of Ram, 8GB of Storage - expandable up to 128GB. Windows 10 update was also released for this phone. Not a bad phone at at all for the price.

I purchased this during the recent Black Friday sale for $29 as another backup phone to test Windows 10 mobile. I have used the Lumia 520 and 635, so I was familiar with the model line. The 640 has some welcome improvements, such as a rear flash, front facing camera, larger screen and better performance. I was very pleased with this phone, and for the price I paid who could complain?

So it can lag a bit, theres very limited apps and i dont know the phone calling quality because i only use it as a music player and my iphone for everything else. But Nokia has proven to make great music players out of any phone and once again, they nailed it. Couldnt be happier for the purpose it serves and for only 30 bucks! Comon, that would make anyone smile.

This is an amazing Windows Phone, and at less than $100, it is a steal. I have not had any issues with slowdown or freezing. Battery life is incredible, as I usually get 2 days of use before needing a recharge.

I read the reviews on this ph before I bought it. It's a great ph for your money. I'm used to Apple iPhones. I didn't think I would like it but I really do. Make sure you get the biggest SD card to put your pictures on. Only a slight complaint- battery doesn't last too long if you use it constantly.

So windows phone isn't as robust as the app store or google play, but it has come along way in apps and content, the quality of the phone for the 50$ I paid for it on sale was more than worth it, it does have good mid tier specs and windows phone OS is very resource light so there is no lag or stuttering, I would definitely have no problem recommending it.
