The phone is great. I had an older Lumia phone and like it so wanted another. It is easy use and makes for a cheap smart phone compared to the two big brands. Best part it automatically syncs up with my Microsoft account so I get all my emails, pictures, and contacts straight on my phone.

If you are not an app junkie this is a great phone. Good camera and battery life. Best of all it is not expensive. Sold as a Go Phone it is easy to insert your sim card (if it is the same size) and use it on your AT&T phone plan. Also has an SD slot for improved storage.

Windows 8 is not that great by I picked windows insider and installed windows 10.the phone is very smooth and it easy to use. I left it with my parents and it was easy for them to learn due to the large tile layout. The battery lasts long as well. The only issue I had with this phone was that it wouldn't detect my car's Bluetooth.

had several windows phones. got one for husband a couple months ago, now get another one as backup on black Friday. large screen, fast cpu speed, windows has all the apps we need. camera is better than Samsung Avant I am using now. I so want to switch back to WP.

I was able to get this 640 on sale to replace a 635 that wasn't working very well. I mainly bought it to make sure the offline GPS system worked, and it is flawless. With more power and bigger screen size than the 635, I am very happy with this phone!

This is the best mid-end smartphone in my opinion. Light weight and good 5-inch size that is big enough for viewing yet small enough to hold. Window phone does not have as many apps as iPhone nor Android phone. Yet popular apps such as Uber Apps are available for window phones. I recommend this phone to everyone.

This phone has just about most, if not every thing, you you wound found in a mid-range Android phone except it is Window phone. The price is great for the feature loaded with the phone. The only downside is that being a Window phone, there are only limited number of apps compared to Android and IOS.

This is a nice phone if you want to pay as you go on your cell bill. The screen has good resolution and is bigger than the Lumia 520 phones. The only downside is the lack of apps for Windows phones.

Good battery life, stable operating system, nice touch screen....best basic smartphone for the price...would have given 5stars if the app store had more apps....easy to unlock....

I went to The Galleria Mall in Houston looking for a new phone. I found a BEST BUY cell phone retail store and bought this Microsoft Lumia with a really good price and no-contract service. The phone is fast and amazing, I have no experiencie with windows phone OS, but it is easy and has all the apps I need. The GPS is incredible and help me a lot in my trips.

My previous smartphones were all Iphones. But we know those phones are a bit expensive. I switched to an inexpensive phone because I can be a bit clumsy at times. For the amount of money I paid for this phone we can safely say that this phone could be replaced a couple of times for the price of one iPhone 6. The lumia 640 took a few drops, went through a bit of water, got slobbered by the dog and the phone works just perfectly. I am very satisfied with the battery. I go through 36 hours before I need to recharge. IPhone dies at midday. I have only one issue.. The app store is a bit limited... I would buy another without a doubt if this one dies on me

Purchased to try out Windows 10 Mobile and was generally impressed with how the device felt and how well it performed. The quad core CPU + GB of memory keeps up with apps, and expanding the storage with a microSD card is quite easy. Generally would suggest if you're looking for a cheap phone.

Superb backup phone can also be used as MP3 player, games playing for kids, storage device and comes with a very cheap price.

I needed a quick, low cost replacement for my old phone and this one fit the bill, albeit only just. It is a great looking device and feels high quality in the hand despite the plastic case, has a decent display, and is reasonably speedy for most tasks. The big downer is the paltry 8gb of onboard memory, which at the time of purchase I thought would be plenty with the 64gb SD card I added. Unfortunately, I cannot port app install to the SD card, meaning the internal storage is used up fairly quickly. Not a big deal most days because I am not a mindless app junkie, but when a large OS update comes through it is necessary to uninstall a number of apps. It's a pain that I am willing to live with given the low cost of entry. With 16gb I would have given it a 5 star rating.

Pros. 1. The battery is excellent. I charge the battery one or two times per week (my phone speaking time are 15-25 min per week + 60-80 min to read/watch something using internet). 2. Super excellent features/price combination. 3. Easy to use. 4. Excellent automatic brightness adjusting. I do not need use adjusting by hand (it possible too). 5. Very good manual that available to download as pdf file (paper short instruction good too). Cons I spent many hours to tune all features and apps in the way I want.

I have both an iPhone 6 Plus and a Galaxy S4. Both are great phones. However I was looking for something to back either up in case of an unforeseen accident. I chose this phone mainly for the low cost. After receiving it I had the phone unlocked prior to setting it up. I updated it to the latest Windows 10 mobile. I really have been impressed with the build quality of the phone. Very nice screen. The Windows 10 mobile has been very good. Always worried that it wouldn't meet expectations but I have been pleasantly surprised. I have replaced the GS4 with this as my work phone. I have found less hassles with the OS than with Android. I am due for an upgrade and when I do decide to get a new phone I think I will stick with the Windows platform.

Having owned many Windows phones (Focus, Titan, Titan II, One M8, HD7S, 920, 1520, 830, 950) I have to say that this phone is a pretty great device all things considered. It is budget, so its not going to have all of the bells and whistles, but if you need a spare (which this is) this phone will do just fine. Even as a primary phone (bought one for my mother), it works just fine. I upgraded my mothers' and the house hold spare to Windows 10 Mobile (technical preview) and it works great. Sure, things can be occasionally be a little laggy - but the OS is not technically RTM and the phone's hardware isn't as robust as the big brother 950(XL). If you don't need fancy cameras, face recognition, play tons of games, etc, then don't shy from this phone as a spare or as a daily workhorse because it is plenty capable. Also, if you're curious about Windows Phone 8.1 (or upcoming Windows 10 Mobile), this would be a great device to try out without worrying about significant investment.

Bought it for my father-in-law, big screen, best price, unlock with ATT is a breeze, fast speed, no complaint.

This thing is the best value in phones i have ever seen. It works great and i actually like it considerably more than my iPhone 6 which cost at least 10 times as much.
