BEST UPGRADE EVER!

My old smart phone wasn't being so smart any more and I knew I needed an upgrade but thought Samsung was out of my price range. Best Buy had several models that were reasonably priced so I selected the middle one. And the phone totally exceeds my expectations. Screen is clear, colors vibrant, and oh so quick! Why did I wait so long?!?

This is a great phone for the price. The camera is a little slow, but produces a very good picture. After initially locating all the options on the phone, it has been very easy to use. The sound is great, better than the more expensive phone I had previously.

I bought this phone for my nephew who had a problem dropping his iPhone in water. It was his first introduction to android. It has worked fine and does enough for a smart phone. I am now over the technology hype of expensive phones. I will from now on buy go phones and change the SIM card.

Bought this phone because my Pantech bit the dust. I really like this phone. Holds charge for a long time but I'm not constantly on my phone like some people. The camera is nice. I really like this phone and glad that I finally decided to get another phone.

After having a Note 4 since its initial release, I accidentally dropped it out of my sweatshirt pocket. The screen didn't fair out too well so I needed a new phone. I was determined not to spend too much on a new phone. I set my limit around $200 and set out for Best Buy. I looked for several hours at the various phones and read many reviews. I wasn't quite sold on any one phone when I spotted the Samsung Galaxy Prime phone and decided to check out some of the reviews on it. It appeared like everyone I read thought it was a great phone for the price they were asking. Having a Samsung phone before I thought it would be quite similar and I was right there. I cut my sim card down and inserted it from my Note 4. After a few days of using the phone I had several dropped calls and a couple where they could not hear me. I took the phone back to Best Buy after 10 days and they replaced it with another one and even transferred everything from the first one. The agent there said it may have been the sim card causing the problem? So I took the replacement to the ATT shop and got another sim card for this phone. I can happily say the second phone works great. I really like my Galaxy Prime. The battery life is phenomenal. Coming from my Note that I had to recharge once every day and sometimes twice to make it through this is a great phone. The screen is 5" compared to my Note 5.5" but then again this fits in my jeans pocket so much better. The only downside is the camera is just average. It can not compete with the premier phones in the camera department. This is where you have to decide what you are willing to pay for. I decided for the price I can live with an average camera. I bought a glass screen \protector and a Body Glove case for it. Laying beside my buddy's S7 I can hardly see any difference in the two phones. I liked the phone so much that when it went on sale, I bought a second phone for a backup. Now if I drop it, I won't be crying over losing $$$.
PS: Another tip that I was not aware of. Do not forget to use Samsung Smart Switch on your computer to make backups of your phone. I was not aware of the feature but sure wish I had been. It may save your data one day.

I bought this phone for my son who broke his first by dropping, for what seems to be about a thousand times, clumsy. I was able to get this phone for under 150 when phone are now going for 600 to 800. it enables my son to have a very nice phone comparable to my my, but light on the my wallet.

I bought this phone after my samsung s6 motherboard quit working. I have had it for a while now and it works really well. My daughter just cracked the screen on it and you can barely tell. I have a memory card in it and it still is slow because it needs it's memory cleared. I wish there was more. that is my only downside.

This phone seems to be great. My son is 12 yo and learned how to operate it within minutes. It seems to do almost everything my IPhone 6s does and I would definitely buy another one.

Great features, easy to use! I needed this as a secondary phone and am pleasantly surprised at how Smart it is. Why pay hundreds of dollars for a phone when you can pay less than $100 for a really great phone?

This phone is great and has most of the features of the more expensive phones. I've added an additional memory chip to the 16GB. Since I don't play a lot of games on the phone it is fast enough for my needs at this time

I have been using no contract phones for about 8 years now. The selection is pretty dismal so I was really happy to see Samsung had a phone in the mix this time around. I don't really have anything to compare it to because up until now I have had no use for a smart phone. But having a phone that I can link to my smart car, my home security system, my garage door opener etc., made this option more attractive this time around. The price was right and I'm satisfied with the purchase. As for all those people that are walking around with their noses in their phones all the time, not sure what you're doing or what you're looking at or if this phone will satisfy you. But for those that are just looking for a way to connect to all your 'stuff' it's a real bargain!

Walked into Best Buy and grabbed this off the rack as an emergency replacement for my primary phone which just died for no reason. Put in my sim card, restored my Google backup and was up and running. Been using it about 2 weeks while trying to decide if I want to get another higher-end phone. For it's intended use, it does very well. Considering the $70 price tag, you can get 10 of these for the price of one flagship phone, not an insignificant amount. However, if you want camera performance, you need something better. It works, but very noisy in lower light. Also, this is probably the slipperiest phone I've ever held. Anyway, it works fine as a backup, and ALMOST good enough as a primary.

When the original Samsung Galaxy 5 phone died, this
phone was the best offered as a "Go-Phone" with ATT
with no contract. It is actually the equivalent of the G-5
and works about the same.

This is more than a basic phone that has style and decent performance. It's great for Pokemon Go, but the lack of a gyroscope means no AR mode.

My Samsung galaxy s4 finally died. So, I was looking to get a cheap phone until the new Samsung galaxy models come out in April. This one is actually great, and is very easy to use. My only issue was that it takes a micro SIM. So I couldn't just take my SIM from old phone and put in New one, and best buy couldn't activate new SIM, so it was a hassle to buy the phone, go through the data transfer, then find out the SIM slot wasn't compatible. I had to go to at&t and have them activate another one. Other than that, the phone is nice. I am noticing more dropped calls and connectivity issues than normal. Not sure if that's the phone or what.

I am still kind of new to using a smartphone, this phone has been great for learning the basics. It has a decent amount of memory and functions well. It is easy to use and I recommend it for anyone who wants to join the smartphone world.
