Been a fan of the series since Atelier Iris and can say that if you like this series, or are a fan of JRPG genre that is focused on Harvest Moon type elements, then you will enjoy this game.

Like the tile says this is one of the best Atelier that I’ve played. Ryza just might be my favorite Atelier protagonist of all time. Story is a little bland but overall the game is a must buy for fans of the series.

    My All-time Favorite Game

Games in the Atelier series are generally defined by the same gameplay loop: gather, battle, synthesize. Atelier Ryza takes each aspect of that cycle and improves on it massively. Gathering now requires you to swap between different tools on the fly, with each tool and gathering point combination resulting in different resources. Battles are now handled with a frantic, chaotic, and deeply tactical semi-real-time system in which you need to think quickly if you want to excel. Synthesis is possibly the most improved system, though. It is now represented as a branching tree where the ingredients you add and the direction you proceed can produce vastly different variants of the same item, or even branch off into a brand new item. Combine all of this fast-paced, yet intellectual gameplay with fun characters, a strong story, and the joy of going on a fantastical adventure through a beautiful world, and you've got not just my favorite Atelier game, but also my favorite game of all time.

I’ve been very surprised by this game. I haven’t played the other Atelier games because of the crafting system but it’s very easy to understand and doesn’t feel as cumbersome as I feared. The graphics are beautiful and the story has been very good as well!

It's Atelier, have you ever played any of the Atelier games? This one is great, and probably the best in the series. I tend to love JRPGs with lots of bright color and there's no shortage of that here. You don't really have much free roam action going on in these games, but the story and charm make up for that. Not to mention them thighs THIIIICCCCC

Ryza is a great addition to the Atelier series, with a fun and addictive new crafting and combat system. Can get fairly easy as you progress and make better items, but doesn't get in the way of the extremely fun experience.

    Atelier Reboot

With Ryza, its latest entry, the Atelier series has officially entered a soft reboot stage, starting over in almost every way. While this is disappointing to longtime fans, this is an undeniably great spot for those new to the series to begin. Though the alchemy system, characters, settings, and battle engine have all changed, the general just of the series remains the same. You wander around the countryside, collect items, use alchemy to turn them into better items, fight baddies with those items, and repeat until the story hits its finale some 40 or 50 hours later. The battle system especially has changed, forcing you to fight the bad guys in a real-time active battle system that can be as calamitous as it can be enjoyable. Takes some getting used to but it's fun nonetheless. As someone who has played every Atelier game since the PS1, I can definitely recommend this one as well. It might not be a high point of the series, but all of the new ideas and radical changes have me interested in seeing where these games go in the future. Recommended.

I've always been into Atelier so I'm a bit biased with this review. This one though, it seems to do the series well. The time limit is gone so you can take your time, explore, and battle. Plus the battle system has been redone so fights seem way more fun. You can still overpower yourself if you know what you're doing of course..like most Atelier games. Definitely worth the purchase...if you can find a copy.

Atelier Ryza is a fun addition to the Atelier franchise with great visuals especially the main character Ryza. The battle engine is typical Atelier but with more action based commands. If you like the series than you won't be disappointed.

Revitalized a franchise that was going stale pretty quick. Can't wait for the sequel to come.
