I am an HDMI matrix switch user. My wife and I are in our 70s and 80s. I have connected our main TV and bedroom TV using a HDMI switch. The primary reason was to link our Direct and Blu-ray player in a manner that would allow both TV to display the same information. Using an IR repeater I can then control the source from both rooms. We share the same shows even when one of us wants to watch in bed. This new switch is not a true matrix switch, that is only the inputs are switchable, the outputs ARE linked to same input (not switchable, but, mirrored). The only problem I had was that the main TV was set to match the resolution of the source which confused this new switch. Every time the input changed (by changing channels) I lost the sound. By setting the TV input to the 1080i and 1080p only, the source must then match the TV. Simple, clean, and working just the way I wanted.
