Strong, consistent effort

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.For a band as diverse and varied as Killswitch Engage, Atonement is an amazingly consistent album. They still straddle the spectrum of heavy metal, incorporating everything from post-hardcore to progressive, but on this album they manage to find a sweet spot at the center of all these styles and never let go. It makes for a band that sounds enthused and passionate, not just technically accomplished. Atonement proves that Killswitch Engage, and the greater Metalcore scene, still have a lot of life left in them.
