My son loves the anime and didn’t know there was a live-action movie. So he was blown away by this!

While it doesn’t follow the story to a T, it marches to the beat of its own drum. There’s nothing more entertaining than seeing a live action adaptation of a beloved series, even if it isn’t perfect.

I had heard a lot about these titans and being a little different i knew i had to see it one day. I saw the Blu ray to my great surprise on the shelf in Best Buy before Christmas and I had to grab it., Here to fore I could only find this div on line and it was way more expensive so I was very happy that Best Buy had a decent Anime selection. The Film it self is very good, but you need to not try and compare it to the animate series and be prepared for both some excessively long chatting sections and a change of some of the story...........still the movie has some good effects and marvelously strange moments that make it a worth while watch.

I am not very familiar with the anime that this movie is based on, but I had seen the trailer for this live action adaptation and was intrigued enough to pick up both parts on blu-ray. I'm a big fan of Japanese kaiju movies like Godzilla, so these movies appeal to me on that level. It should be noted that unlike many kaiju movies, these are not kid friendly due to the imagery and brutal violence and gore. Overall, I enjoyed these movies and would recommend them to fans of the genre.

I was concerned about the quality of the live action but went on a limb and made a blind purchase of the Part 1 and I was pleased with the quality of the film. When I first heard this was in the works I was worried they couldn't pull off converting the intense animated show to a live action movie but it works. Some sequences get a bit of motion blur, losing their crisp look, and a couple larger scaled fights seem to lose that giant scaled up size feel (where portortionally larger things move a little slower) so the effect took me out of the scene a bit. That might be my only issue with the movie. Some plot lines were cut, along with a character I liked but then again this was only the first part. The quality of the first part made picking up part two an easy choice.

This live action movie of the anime with the same name in my opinion was really good. For a movie not done in Hollywood the special effects are pretty good. The story and brutality of the film have a really good balance. Checkout the anime of this film before watching this though. The special features are lacking on this release.

This live action series is based off the anime cartoon version. Although I had never watched the cartoon, I heard it had a good story and took a gamble at buying this version. Overall the series is actually good and the special effects are really good! Watching it makes me interested in checking out the anime now.

For entertainment value, its pretty good. For those who are devotees to the anime, they'll hate it. It was good to see the studio embark on something this ambitious. It doesn't exactly work but the set pieces and CG are fun to watch. I will definitely buy part two when It comes out on Dec 6th.

Same review for both 1 and 2. Matches the anime series perfectly. Leaves you wanting more which we are not likely to get. They were able to capture the horror. Get past the Dracula bad guy stupid I'm going to get you laughter often found in this genre and you will enjoy this.

I waited to buy both parts together and will review just part 1. This is a neat adaptation (3.5/4 stars) but as someone has mentioned it doesn't follow the anime series very well. For being a 2 part movie, it is short and seems very rushed.

While I haven’t seen the anime version of this film, I can say that it actually seems well made for an anime story to a real movie. If you don’t like anime movies though, I would say avoid this film, it’s not for you.

First, let me say that I've never seen the anime, and that my opinion is based solely on my movie experience... and I enjoyed the movie. But I wasn't fond of some of the acting... and this is from someone who has been a fan and collector of Asian Cinema for MANY years. Some of the actors were really good, others simply overacted. That aside... the giants looked amazing and were ferocious, which is the focal point, obviously. And the F/X were fantastic. The Blu-ray itself is very nice. The slipcover is partly embossed and quite beautiful, and the discs have very nice artwork.

As a fan of the anime, I found this movie to be a horrible adaptation. I couldn't even finish it because they changed so much arbitrarily. Skip this one is my recommendation.

This movie is true to the anime, which is amazing. Not for kids of course. Really not for kids. Do not show it to them. When I saw the anime I did not know if I wanted to cry, throw up, drink or all at the same time. Had the same run of emotions with this movie, but worse since it is live action not animated. Great watch if you are a fan of the anime or anime in general.

My son is into Anime and wanted the live action version of Attack on Titan. It is a very interesting story, but does contain a lot of gore. Image quality is good on the Blu Ray version.

First thing is that I love the AOT anime and the live action movie is pretty good. No it's not as good as the anime and the story is not the same but I still found it okay and enjoyable

The movie does not follow the anime/manga's story. Those expecting it to follow the anime or manga may be disappointed. But the movie is good and the action is entertaining.

Good try. Could've been better. At first the whole Godzilla-ish attempt to this movie sounds good. But kinda falls short. Still a good movie though nonetheless.

My wife loves the animated films and I will watch with her sometimes and I will have to say that I really enjoyed this movie and would recommend it
